I'm also going to be making a separate donation to Speak for Tammy. I almost started crying getting ready this morning thinking about her. She was such a sweet person, so energetic and kind. I'm with Heather - I appreciate being able to share that grief here with you guys.

Thank you Heather for posting about the SPEAK Animal Hospital. This the organization mentioned in Tammy's death notice. I'm going to send them a donation in her name.

Tammy asked that donations be made to the following charity in lieu of flowers

If there is any interest in a group donation, and you are so inclined, sparkmail me and we can figure out how to do that. Otherwise, feel free to make your donation directly.

I am really missing Tammy. She was such a big presense on our daily chat threads. I'm a tad lost without her smiling and happy posts each morning. I appreciate being able to share my loss and grief with all of you who also enjoyed and appreciated her. Thank you all for being such a supportive and kind group.

I want to add my condolences too. I only interacted with her (here) once, but I was encouraged by her and impressed by her.

Thank you so much for letting us know, Heather. Kourtney, ever since you posted wondering about Tammy, I've been thinking about her as well.

Like all of you, I was always so impressed by Tammy's positive attitude. I'm sure she was well aware of what she was facing, yet she managed to encourage all of us and lived her life to the fullest. Rest in peace, dear Tammy.

She will be missed. I loved the way she took each step and pushed herself to take the next. That is true strength. She did everything with a wonderful, upbeat attitude, even when she had cancer.

she has a left a impression on me and will be missed. as you have all said, her sense of humor and putting your needs before hers, and her strong spirit will always give me strength. I am donating to the Livestong fund in her memory.

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear this. I was wondering about this since she hadn't been here for awhile. I will remember her positive outlook in spite of her situation. I lost my dad to pancreatic cancer. It is one of those silent cancers that do not exhibit symptoms until later stages. I think the donation idea sounds good!

It sounds like Tammy actually has a place for donations in mind - the SPEAK Animal Hospital in Binghamton. Just an FYI.

Oh my, I don't even know what to say. We all knew this was a possibility, even if we all hoped against hope that she would beat it.

I was never lucky enough to meet her in person, I only knew her here. But I was so impressed with her toughness and her ability to always stay upbeat and positive, even when she didn't feel well. She was always encouraging, even when she was the one who really needed the encouragement. That's how I will remember her.

Peace and loving thoughts to her family and friends.

Thank you for letting us know, Heather.

One of my favorite things about Tammy was her sense of humor. She could always make me fall over laughing, no matter what the occasion. I'm not a person of faith, but it's interesting to me that, driving home from class on Thursday, I started thinking about Tammy and wondering how she was, then posted on her page on Friday. I'm glad she's not in pain any more, and I wish the best for her and her family.

Heather - do you know of any way for us to do a group gift to the family? It could be something traditional, like flowers to her loved ones, or something more personal, like a group donation to a pancreatic cancer research organization.

Tammy - rest in peace, my friend. You are missed.

As some of you know, our team member, KOBEBROWN, otherwise known as Tammy, was diagnosed with cancer back in January of this year. She fought valiantly, but ultimately lost the battle with cancer Thursday, Oct 27th.

She was a great member of this team, and a good friend to me and others here. Her encouragement and sense of humor will be greatly missed by me and so many others here and in her 3D life.

I did my first 5K with Tammy in the summer of 2010. I wasn't ready for it, but she sure was. She encouraged me, walked when I needed to, and just was a lot of fun to be with. I did my second 5K this summer with a Tammy who shouldn't have been anywhere near a 5K, but who did it to come spend time with me and my family. We only walked part of it by cutting off part of the course, but she was tough and never complained once. She was a wonderful person and I thought she was just great. Tammy got to take a hot air balloon ride at the festival that hosts the 5K, and she was really excited as she told us about how beautiful it all was. It's how I will remember her, excited and thrilled to share such an exciting experience with us.

Please keep her family and friends in your prayers.
