I was doing all pool exercise until recently. I just finished the 4th week of C25K and am doing 3 miles in 42 minutes. This may not seem great to you except that 5 years ago I was walking with a cane.

Since I live in Florida I try to get to the pool everyday. We have a pool in our condo association. However it has rained everyday for the past 2 weeks. Not getting much swimming in. Too hot to walk outside, but I go to the mall and walk.

Last week I finally switched up my routine by doing 3 days cardio and 2 days weight lifting. I went all 5 days! I was also supposed to go kayaking but that was cancled to another day in August.

I wouldn't exactly call it "swimming," but yesterday I went and played in a swimming pool for several hours. I'm guessing I didn't burn a ton of calories, but I must have burned some. Otherwise, it's been so hot, I've just taken little baby walks with my dogs.

I love walking my dogs but they love walking me more! Now with the days getting in the 90's, soon to be in the 100's, I wait until the late evening to do it, especially since we don't have to get up as early to take my son to school. I'm not a morning person, so this fits in well with my lifestyle. When my husband is not traveling, he'll go with me and we walk on dirt roads near our house where no one lives. Sort of cool seeing the stars up close and amazing how much light you can get from the moon. When he is traveling then, I'll just walk them around our village.


I don't know why it's said that the hard part is getting started; getting started is easy! It's sticking with it day after day that is a challenge AND makes the difference!

I've been wanting to go to 1 of my fave city parks for my brisk walks. we've been getting so much rain though & it doesn't even feel like summer up here. But I started using my gym membership & am on the treadmill (fast walk, not brave enough to go any faster yet) for an hr and the stationary bike for 1/2. I just started to the bike so I'll have to build up the minutes i spend on there.

I have been doing my workouts inside at a fitness center, treadmill mostly to burn 400 - 450 calories, if the weather is nice my kids and I then go change into our swimsuits and hit the pool outside. I pack our lunch so we aren't buying the icky unhealthy food at the snack bar. I also spend most evenings outside working on my flower and vegetable gardens. It is so much more than I did the same time last year!!

On my lunch break I walk to the mailbox (1/2 mile away) and drop off any out going mail. I'll miss doing this when it starts to get humid but I don't want to return to work sweaty and stinky either. I plan on purchasing a jogging stroller next week so I can walk my 7 month old son around the neighborhood in the evenings, maybe even start actually jogging with him...

Explored downtown South Bend. They have a beautiful riverwalk....and they have a marathon tomorrow. (Not that I will be in, but I thought it was a great coincidence.)

Old....it sure beats dead!

Living in South Louisiana its now 100 degrees in the day, so we bring our exercise more inside. Wii is our favorite, but we will dance, or use equipment we have. If the evenings are cooler we will bike ride, but that doesn't usually happen till Sept, lol.
