I have had a number of sparkmail requests for more information about what I learned at the Obesity Help Event. So here are some things I am working on for my weightloss toolbox. As I say repeatedly I am a work in progress fashioned by God. I must learn to take better care of what he created. Me!

Here are Four tools I gained for my Weightloss Toolbox at the Obesity Help Event.

Tool 1 is my RNY

Tool 2 is my exercise program

Tool 3 is to deal with my craving as it comes up and before I eat anything I need to check if I sense a Craving? I must pause before seeking out food and increase my awareness of what I am feeling.
I need to ask myself the follow Stahl questions:
Am I ....
S: Sad
T: Tired
A: Angry/Anxious
H: Hungry
L: Lonely
If yes, then I need to deal with the emotion and what caused the emotion and not eat to hide the emotion.


Tool 4 is applying the hunger fullness scale when I eat.
The Hunger-Fullness Scale is another tool that I am trying to learn to use when I eat

The Hunger-Fullness Scale
Hunger: 0 - Empty
1 - Ravenous
2 - Over-hungry
3 - Hunger pangs
Safe: 4 - Hunger awakens
5 - Neutral
6 - Just satisfied
7 - Completely satisfied
Full: 8 - Full
9 - Stuffed
10 - Sick
Eating more in the Safe area 4-7 helps with portion control as well as blood sugar balance and energy level.

On my food log I need to add the categories: Mood/Emotions when eating the food; Fullness scale at the meals and snacks.

I hope this will give you ideas for your weight loss tool box.
