Ok, I ordered the high waist Lipo-in-a-box. It is better than spanx but I think I still like the cami styles better. I do like the fabric, it breaths well, and it seems to have just the right amount of control to it. But the cami I liked is $55 which is just too much. I just ordered a vanity fair cami. Not sure if it will have enough control but I will try it. So far I still like control it v-neck gathered bust cami the best. I think it is Built Up Camisole #12416

Girls I also saw on the Maidenform website (mfg of flexees and control it) that they have long sleeve, and 3/4 sleeve tops in a variety of style that are shapewear for the arms! So we can do something for our bat-wings!

Lipo fits under the bra band so you would just pull it down when you pull down your pants or underwear . I have tried numerous other brands and they do NOT last nor work as well. When it comes to daily/exercising wear, for me and my money, Under Armour is the BEST! I tried the cheaper OFF brands and the support and longevity is lacking. Again, because the mid-thigh length does NOT work for me, it limits some of the cheaper choices as well. Everyone's needs and experiences will vary, so experiment. Blessings everyone!

What do you do when you need to go to the bathroom. Isn't lipo in a box a one piece garment? I would hate to have to completely undress to go to the bathroom! Try Walmart for some inexpensive shapewear for this inbetween period and save the expensive stuff for when you are down to goal. I found a $16 cami that I really like there and they have a number of one piece and panty/thigh ones for under $20.

My favorite for dressier dressing is the Lipo-in-a box brand from QVC, especially the from bra to calf length! My thighs are a major issue with anything mid-thigh. For everyday wear and exercise, I LIVE in Underarmour brand. My favorite is the capri length or the men's LONG length shorts. They(shorts) come to my knee so the mid-thigh bulge factor isn't there. The moisture wicking properties are wonderful and they don't hold odor like other shape wear does. I buy the smaller size to give extra support.
The cost factor IS prohibitive, but no more than shape wear AND they hold up better. My capri length need replaced (after a year and a half of daily wear), but I want to wait till fall. I'm hoping to drop more weight too so I don't want to spend that much $ on something that'll be too big in a few months!
I WISH there was something for my Angel Wings!!! But ALAS; no such luck! emoticon LOL!

Blessings!

I agree they should have a large tag with instructions on how to get it on and off!

I tried the spanx high waist pantie that go from mid-thigh to just under the bra but it kept rolling down at the top and somehow it just keep wanting to creep down to my knees instead of staying up at the thighs. That is why I switched to the camie's. Thank goodness my thighs are not too bad with the jiggle factor.

I will check out Sports Authority and Big 5 Sporting Goods next weekend.

I have used Spanx and I like it. I have a beautiful swimsuit from Shapefx that holds in all that extra skin. I also have a bra/slip combo that I wore under my dress for my daughters wedding, also from Shapefx and it was great once I figured out how to get it on. That was pretty funny, I put it over my head the first time and got stuck, had to have my husband pull me out. :D

The under armour brand is carried at our Scheels store here. I have to assume that any large sports store would carry it. It really feels nice on you. If we ever do get nice enough weather to test it, will let you know how hot it gets under regular clothes. Right now we are still at 43 degrees..lol. Oh cindy I really agree with you on the upper arms, I call mine bat wings and tell roomie that i am about to take flight..lol. if you ever see anything for those please let me know:)

Charli, Where do you find that brand? I have not seen it in my stores. I wish that they had something for my upper arms. I have good muscles but the skin does hang from upper arm. Rather disgusting to look at. The firming I get other places from shapewear is really needed in upper arms. I wish that they could make shapewear that really does breath and is not hot to wear!

I wear it, and love how it makes me look. The down side is it can get pretty hot during the summer. I am going to try under armour compression gear this summer and see if it keeps me a little cooler. It is expensive ( I think) at 30.00 an item, but it def helps :)

I purchased a Spanx long leg (just below the knees because that's where my loose skin is sagging.) when Lane Bryant had a 40% off everything in the store. I don't wear it that often because it's a struggle when I have to go to the bathroom even though it's comfortable

hey Cindy
I love shape wear I have been wearing it for years. For me it helped to pull things in and hold it as together as it could. I am one of those who hates panty lines and shape wear helps to eliminate that. I had pretty much always purchased my wears from The Avenue, I like high waist long leg. As I have started to drop the weight I have tried a few others. I tried and like the Control it and just got a Spanx which I love. I am sure that once I have lost most of my weight I will continue to wear the shape wear because it does give nice smooth lines and a pulled together look!

How many of you wear shapewear?
Do you like how you look in shapewear?
Do you find it comfortable?
What brand and type do you wear?
What about men is there something similar for men who have loose skin?

For me.

I wear a moderate, comfortable control shapewear (I feel entombed in extra firm). I like torsette camie style the best. No squishing the girls, they may disappear! The panties that cover thigh to just under breast tend to roll down on me and the crotch sags after an hour or two.
It felt strange at first but now I find it actually feels good and I look much better in clothes. I find I wear the same size as clothes
Brand - I like flexees and Control It. Kohl's has good sales if you watch for them. Just found some new brands at Walmart for $10-$20 that I will try this week.
I wish I could find a deal like Nena found (mentioned on another thread).
