Good Morning everyone we took our Christmas down on Jan. 2 but I'm not sleeping well either. Getting between 4-6 hrs a night I assumed it was from the lack of smoking. Like wanting to eat constantly. Been resisting and doing well. NO cigarettes in 6 days and I haven't even bit anyone's head off even though they are still smoking. Thanks to LORI_LIFTS I am drinking a cup of water when the craving hits it does work.. I got a dancing dog wanting her 2nd walk. Already got 56 minutes of fitness and had breakfast. Better take her out before she pitches a fit. Check in when I get back from store. emoticon emoticon

Looks like some of us are definitely on the same page and Donna, what is with you and me and our crummy sleep lately?..... today I buttoned up all of our Christmas stuff too and put it away and isn't it funny how it's a lot more fun putting it out then it is putting it away! ..... Seriously I am going to leave myself a note in the trunk where it's packaged to not get carried away next year and make it very simple!.
Here's hoping for a really good night of sleep tonight !

And Nomi, how are you doing?

Looks like it will be warming up a bit - except that snow is in the forecast for today. Just hope it is not too much - like last month.

Today's plan:

1. A bit of cleaning in the bathroom.
2. Sweep/mop kitchen.
3. A Spark video.

Finally finished getting all the Christmas down and packed away!!! then I had to vacuum every where to get rid of glitter!! will probably still see some 6 months from now.

Had a terrible night last night, finally went sound asleep about 4AM, now I want a nap, but have to get in some real exercise. Hopefully tomorrow I will get back on some kind of schedule!

Way to go Bill, small goals just make more sense to me. Also love your sketch and how sweet to do your daughter's favorite. My small goal for the rest of week and if necessary is to get rid of clutter. Will take all donations down on way to dr appt Monday. Working on it today while hubby is at work. Cause he is a total pack rat ,LOL emoticon emoticon

I am meeting my small goals one at a time. I just got back from a 1.19 mile walking my building doing circuits up and down the many hallways. I walked it in 33 minutes 48 seconds. 34 minutes of fat burn.So far today I have 5,892 steps in for a distance of 2.08 miles. I have exceeded my 30 minute goal of 30 active minutes. I got in 43 so far today. I am also working on a sketch a few minutes here and there scattered through out the day.

Clifford the Big Red Dog and Emily Elizabeth. I am going to add color to this later. My daughter is named Emily Elizabeth. She has always loved the Clifford books. I will finish this later.

The finished sketch.

I replaced a defective dimmer switch in my office .. long overdo!

I took the dryer apart and vacuumed all of the built-up lint and checked the exhaust all the way to the vent outside! (I clean it every 3 months out of fear of a dryer fire .. i would never hear the smoke alarm)

I had only one goal today that was to get my blood work done so dr. gets results before my appt. on Monday emoticon I got an extremely crummy night's sleep last night we are talking 5 hours. With me on edge cause of not smoking it wasn't gonna be a fun day. But I fixed that too while internet was out most of afternoon I rested. Tomorrow's goal is to continue to straighten this bedroom. I've got stuff that needs to go to storage shed and more stuff for donation. I just gotta get started and now is the time if I can get a decent night's sleep tonight. emoticon emoticon
Besides all those steps will help reach another goal, that makes it a win/win.

Yesterday I did get in one walking video. Today I am getting all of my Christmas dcor down and put away, that is going to have to be my exercise. It means up and down on a step stool a few times and several trips to the basement and back.

Today's focus:

1. A locking gas cap - gas was siphoned out of my pickup over New Year's. And I had just filled the tank. But, perhaps the person needed the gas more than I do.

2. Knit fingerless gloves for daughter, Kathi - her birthday is the 24th.

3. A SparkPeople video.

My small goal for this week is to walk at least 30 minutes straight each morning. I just got back from a 31 minutes 40 seconds walk and covered 1.11 miles . This is indoors as it is around 10 degrees F outside with a wind chill of 20 below (?). That small goal is met for today. I have 6,106 steps in today toward my goal of 10,000 each day. Read my blog post about my plan and updated goals.

This week is dedicated to organizing all of my many pages of exercises and recipes that I have gathered over several years. I did find one of the exercise programs that I used in the past that did help me. I might have to tweak it a little to match this older body!!-----yea that's how long I've had it! emoticon emoticon emoticon

I will accomplish it this year!!!!

My first small goal is to use a food journal daily to help me make conscience healthy decisions. That being said, the second part of this is to lose 5#. That 5# has been sticking around a while and will allow me to complete the 1st major goal of a 25# loss.

Second small goal is a total of 30 minutes of exercise a day, consistently

My first small goal to reach is just to work on eliminating conditions around here in my house that cause feelings of stress.
The first I plan on conquering is just my work space right here at my computer area. When I'm here reading e-mails, posting, tracking, etc. I'm feeling something tugging at my insides at the same time. We all know that a feeling like that is not a healthy one and can lead to health and weight issues over time.
Last week my task started with just the sorting of the thousands of knitting magazines that I have acquired over the years. That will be done this week then on to the next small challenge.

Cooking healthy

Since moving back down here and living with mom most of my stuff is in tin shed out back but I can't access any of it. So I've been trying to help her organize a little and get rid of stuff that she doesn't want or need. Re-purpose emoticon areas of the house she has just stacking stuff she doesn't want any more.

I know that before join Spark, I would always say tomorrow I'll do that. Hoping that overnight I would some how come up with the energy and time to fit in a small goal. Well Spark has taught me that just one little goal completed has a big impact in the long run. So I'm really on this kick with goals and I'm determined to get my goals done!

I love that Roxi!! Since i retired one year ago this month, i took on the whole house to revamp, organize, downsize and even the garage! BUT i did it ONE ROOM at a time ..... Today was just "one little drawer" in the bathroom ......But it's one less thing! ...And took down some Christmas decorations and changed the bedding! ... Goals are progressive ... But we will get there!! ... Let's keep checking in!

When I think about it 6 months is really a short amount of time to complete many small goals. Just think, one cupboard today, one corner tomorrow, by the time summer gets here we'll be able to enjoy the weather in our new healthy bodies!

Yes we are worth it. My small goals for today is to get my steps up somehow, I suppose I could walk the length of the house several million times ha ha! Also plan to go through the cabinet where we keep plastic bowls and dishes with lids for leftovers, missing bunch of kids and several of my nice Rubbermaid dishes. The ones I use for hubby's lunches. emoticon

...::: This got me to thinking: If we can digress in six SHORT months, think of how far we can PROGRESS in just six months .... One day at a time ... building on another and another until those goals are good for life!! ... It's a good investment in our health, right? ... And aren't we all worth it? .....

Isn't it amazing how in 6 short months things can change so much, because we took our eye off of the goal.
I know you will get back to where you want to be, just go slow! We are here to help!

2017 was the year I let stress, lack of time, arthritis, lack of sleep and God only knows what other excuse I used to slide off track. More like derailed. The proof of how I undid everything became very clear over the past few weeks. Wound up with pneumonia the first week of December, arthritis out of control, and then I got my blood work back and in 6 months my triglycerides and cholesterol went from low to mid range for years to high. 6 months was all it took. I too am not focused on the weight anymore. Now it's time to get back on track to being healthy again. So my goal is getting back to 30 minutes on the treadmill 5 times a week.

Today i am going to have to "opt" for Spark guy's intro to this team ........"You don't have to work on every goal every day ...." something like that. I have been awake since 2:30 and actually feel ILL .......... Was going to go for the 10 min plan but may call for a rest day .......have exercised for the past six days!!! (reminded even professional athletes allow for 1-2 days of complete rest!) ...

Making today my 'drink more water' day! Kind of got away from it during the hustle and bustle.

I'm trying to focus on goals that lead to a healthier me not so much a skinnier me. Listed most of my goals yesterday in my blog but it is still early yet so we will see if they stand up. emoticon

Sally I think setting "habit" goals are a great idea. We concentrate too much on numbers, sure we want to see the scale go down, but there is so much more to it than the scale.

It's OK to blab, that is what we are here for!! You are on the right track, so just keep talking to us. And hey, enjoy a little bit of that pizza and the friendship, tis the season!

This is only a test ... I'm really super thinking about my small goals that I want to create for myself .. and scanning through this page, and another page that I joined .. I'm seeing how to do it ..

When I was in WW .. we were taught, to make small steps, small goals .. I am no longer in WW .. however, the last 2 years .. I've set my goals at "lose 5 pounds at a time" .. I found that doesn't work .. because I get to that 5 pounds (which is difficult, because I am the QUEEN of the turtle club) and I celebrate .. and then have to lose that 5 pounds again .. I've probably lost the 50 pounds I want to lose .. but the celebrations made it not stick .. lol lol

So ... I feel instead of number goals .. I want to create "habit goals" .. I'm hoping with that .. my numbers will follow .. :)

So -- My first ever goal to practice until the end of the year (trial and error time) is I come home from work, and lately I'm mentally exhausted .. I sit ... and I sit .. and well .. I sit .. My goal from now until the end of the year .. is to limit my time in my "sitting / tv room" and do laundry, play in my playroom .. I got to bed early (because I prefer to be a morning person), but even for that 2-3 hours after I get home from work .. I could be doing something productive ..

emoticon Today -- my little after work goal, will be a load or 2 of laundry ..

Small steps .. (oh .. and I'm a babbler .. I clear out my brain through my fingertips .. sorry .. lol)

My goals for today are to get in a "feel good" walk in addition to Bella's walks but I'll start with my "Jumpstart Cardio" video. It's a great wake up exercise. emoticon emoticon

I did it ! I beat that emotional garbage . I fought the battle well but in the end I came out on the upside. I used some exercise and an hour of meditation my eds will be picked up and then hopefully go away!
