I turtle a lot, especially when things get really busy and or stressed with work, I just concentrate more on maintaining than losing.

I had to really limit or give up potatoes just recently as I found out I was passing kidney stones, and the type I have potatoes has a lot of the building blocks for making stones. I won't order french fries any more, but I will still one or more from the BF's order. I can do without mashed potatoes, but I miss baked potatoes. I will steal some chips once in a while too, but have tried to switch more to corn chips since they have less of the thing in them that builds the stones. I have to limit spinach, nuts and lots of other healthy stuff I was eating before too. Not happy with having to give up or limit stuff, but I don't want that bad pain again, so have to do it.

Take care

Its mostly cloudy here and in the 70s. I turtled at TOPS this morning, which means, no loss and no gain. Turtle is better than gaining. We also had a no gain meeting, meaning none of us gained. That's always good.

We had a nice dinner last night. We both had breaded prawns. But we were a little good. We swapped out the French fries to a Fruit Cup (about twice the size of Cracker Barrel fruit cup). I managed to still stay within my calorie range. The French Fries in that restaurant taste really good, but one serving is more than enough for BOTH of us. I could eat all of them because they taste so good. So I choose to not order them.

I've never chatted here. I got many congratulations for our anniversary and I appreciate each one. According to my in-laws, early on, our marriage won't last 6 months. lol Here we are 47 years later and still married. And our marriage lasted longer than any of his 5 siblings.

Mostly cloudy this morning when I walked and a little chilly, I thought about dropping back home and getting my jacket, but I didn't. Its clear now. Its suppose to be like this until Friday then rain on Friday and Saturday. Ugh! We've had too much rain this year.

This afternoon, I take someone for a dental appointment. I imagine my husband will take us out for dinner tonight. He usually does. Way back when we were introduced by a mutual friend, the friend left us for a couple minutes and said as she left, "Entertain yourselves" My husband said we've been entertaining each other ever since. One of my quotes about him was "he's a nice guy, but I'm not interested in him" But he was persistent. The rest is history....

Looks like we are going to be staying in the 80's for a while. I worked at home and work all week. I will be doing bookkeeping at home this weekend too.

Take care.

Thanks ladies! I had an unexpectedly really long work week, I knew it was going to be more hours this week, but not like what it ended up being. This was more like the tax deadline type week which is long past already. I was working from early morning at home, then in the office and then back at home working into the late evenings all week. I am tired and achy. I am taking a much needed rest weekend. As it sounds like the next few weeks are going to be bad like this week. I just plan on doing a lot of PT - Yoga stretching this weekend, and my laundry for work next week. Not planning on doing much else. Take care everyone!

I have a had a long work week. Especially yesterday, had to do a bunch of computer work before going into work. Then went in and did some more, then drove up the coast to see several clients, and then back to the office to tie up some lose ends, then back home scanning and emailing and calling clients and the boss for several hours after that.

Today already looks like it is going to be another crazy work day too, and I haven't even started. I will be glad for the weekend!

This is Thriday in my workweek, and I'm looking forward to the weekend. I did absolutely nothing last night except rest. Staying up late the night before on the one night a year for night blooming cereus (see blog) was well worth losing some sleep over.

I had a short work day Monday, had Tuesday off, a short work day Wednesday, and now I am off today. Tomorrow will be a short work day too. Then next week will be busy with the bookkeeping run and reports. I think my boss might be coming back from Chicago for a bit that week too.

We are back to the warm to hot days again, and there is a brush fire that I can smell the smoke from. So I am staying inside with doors and windows closed and a fan on me. It is far enough away from our home that I don't think it will cause any issues to us other than the bad air quality. The fire department is already working on putting it out, so hopefully that will happen soon. I am glad I got my exercise in earlier before the fire, and that I don't have to go to work or anywhere else today.

All my best to you all.

The house has been really quiet! The boy is with his mom this weekend. My SO has been at work or away with meetings most of the weekend. So I have had the house to myself except in the evenings the last two days, well except for our two fur babies. They have been here keeping me company.

Yesterday, I did some paper work at home for work, while I was waiting to find out if I had to go into work. Then when I found I had the day off, I shortened a hem on a long dress that I had picked up from a charity thrift store a while back, and had just never took the time to hem it up so I could wear it yet. I fixed myself a large salad for my lunch and dinner, and just decided to catch up on some of the TV shows I have waiting for me on the DVR. I don't plan on doing much this weekend except maybe some laundry and other house work, and watching more shows to clear up some space on the DVR.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Thanks! I remember working at a place long ago that during the summer months gave us Fridays half off for working longer days during the rest of the week. It was nice. I was working with numbers back then too. Only being a single person at that time with no kids, all year long, if something came up and there was Mandatory overtime, I got stuck doing the over time, while a lot of the married ladies with kids got to go home early and even take vacation time, while my already approved vacation time would be yanked back from me. You could tell I was not my supervisor's pet employee, LOL. So glad to get out of there and away from her.

This was my last week of normal schedule, last Friday to work for the next 8 weeks. Having Fridays off is nice, but the 10 hour days are very long when you're staring at numbers all day. On top of that, our lunch time is seriously shortened. I'll be eating on the fly so I can still go to the gym at lunch.

Hoping to do some catching up on neglected housecleaning this weekend.

Hope you have all good results on your tests.

I went to my primary care dr for a follow up to the CT scan. She is going to send me to more specialists for more tests it sounds like.

I ended up having to go into work for an hour Monday for two clients, and then another hour today after my dr's appt for two more clients. Tomorrow I have to go in for probably about another hour for another client. Maybe I will get Thursday to myself, but I won't hold my breath about it. And I have to go into work for at least a few hours Friday too.

I finally got done looking at both of the voting books the bf got yesterday, so at least now I know whom and what I am supposed to be voting on. There is a lot for us to vote on this time too.

Have a great day.

Memorial Day prayers and blessings to all!

Last week was supposed to be really easy and short, but ended up having to work a lot more days and dealing with an issue for one client all week. Luckily I think that is all taken care of now.

We went to the California Center for the arts for a Neil Diamond Tribute concert yesterday. My bf got the tickets from his bossís wife. She gave out tickets to all the employees that wanted to go. I had a fun time listening to good music and watching a great show.

I went into work today for an hour to take care of some payroll that I couldn't do last Friday, as they wouldn't know their hours then. But most of this weekís payroll I was able to do last Friday. I have a few more that I can't do until this Friday as they won't have their hours for me until then.

I might just get to be off the rest of this week until Friday, but I will just have to wait to see what happens and hope that no big issues come up like last week.

All my best to you always.
Janette

Thanks! I still haven't received any voter guide info or anything else from them like they said they were going to send me. I am having to share the bf's guides. I got a feeling I am really going to have to jump through hoops to vote this time. Not a happy camper about this!

I was frustrated with work today too. I wasted a lot of time today just trying to open up Quick book files on a couple of disc for a client that didn't want to open up. Luckily, finally just copying a file to the desk top and then trying to open it worked, but couldn't do it in quick books or from file explorer. Boss was in Chicago and wanting info from me and nothing he kept telling me to do was working. Glad I finally decided to try something else instead of continuing to keep hitting a brick wall trying to do what he was asking me to do. Then had to come home and do more work.

I was supposed to be off today, and off until Friday, but something came up so I had to go to work today. And I have to work tomorrow, and Friday, and Monday now too. Just worn out now. And glad to be back home. It is only Wednesday and I am already thinking about the weekend.

Have a great week and weekend!
Take care, Janette

Such a run-around. Hope you're able to get it all sorted out. I'm having major phone issues at work, so frustrating. Our system changed, and nothing has completely worked right since. Hoping that gets resolved ASAP. Every day this week it's been something.

I ran a lot of errands at work yesterday, so I got a lot of walking in with that. I have today off of work. We are having scattered showers here this week. Enjoying the cooler weather, and the plants are enjoying the free rain water. And I like seeing the rainbows.

I am going to try to research the voting issues for the June primary. Unfortunately there was an issue with my registering to vote this time, so I didn't get any of the booklets like you would usually get. So I have to go online or borrow my bf's to find out what I am supposed to be voting on, and I will have to jump through hoops to vote this time.

I registered to vote in the middle of March when I renewed my driver's license. But supposedly the voter's registrar's office here sent me something in April that I never received. They said it came back to them with writing on it stating that I don't live at this address and that the person doesn't know whom I am. I know no one at this house would do that, and they said so! So I am thinking that the postal worker delivered it to the wrong house, and whom ever got it instead of writing that it was delivered to the wrong address, wrote return to sender or such. So frustrating! I usually vote by mail, but because of this they won't let me do that this time. Even though it was still time where I could have went to their office and registered to vote in person on Election Day, or to vote by mail. But they are not allowing me that option this time. I have to go to the correct polling place, not just any polling place, and prove I am whom I am and vote on the Election Day.

I am use to getting info booklets way before now and already having had time to know how I wanted to vote by now. Instead I am still trying to find out what I am supposed to be voting on in the first place. So bummed and frustrated! Luckily I have today off so I have some time to try to figure stuff out.

I heard a lot of our vote by mail packets here were mailed out without any ballots in them, and others had two ballots in them. They are blaming that on a mail functioning machine. I am kind of wondering if anyone else is having an issue like me where they registered, but their register is not showing up, and the office is trying to say that they mailed them something and it came back as return to sender? Or what else might have gone wrong with this primary election and we just don't know about it?

Have a great week! Janette

Thanks! Have a great Thursday everyone!
I had another busy and long day at work yesterday. I had to run to clients before coming home. I even had to do some stuff for about an hour at home for work after getting home last night. I got up early to take the kid to Poway to go to school this morning. I am a little tired right now, but at least I am off of work today. I will probably take the kid to Poway for school again tomorrow for the bf, as I don't have to be in the office until noon Friday. Supposedly it is going to be a short day tomorrow at work, but I will wait and see. As Monday and Wednesday were supposed to be short too, but really were not. All my best to you all always. Hope you're getting some catch up AND rest up time today. Take care...

Because I had some wet clothes, I unpacked my suitcase, put clothes away, and washed the rest before bedtime. I folded things this morning. It was so nice to come home to a clean house.

Hello everyone! I rushed off to work really early yesterday so didn't do much in here before that.
I was so tired last night after working two part-time jobs, that I ate dinner and then started to fall asleep watching a TV show. So I just got up and didn't finish my logging in here before going to bed. So I am trying to catch up in here now. Luckily I have today off, just had to go drop off some info to my primary care doctor's office and do some personal errands today. I think tomorrow is going to be another really early work day and a long one too!

I hope you all have a great weekend!

The results of the CAT scan showed I have some really tiny kidney stones in the left side. The right side looks good now, no more enlargement, and no signs of kidney stones. They think I probably passed some small stones and that is what caused the issue. The stones in the left side are really small and in a place where she said they don't pose an obstruction issue. She doesn't see any need of me coming back until another year for an X-ray to see how things are going. But I have to drink lots of water and stay on that diet to avoid the stones.

She said the test also showed that I have lesions on my liver and Spleen that they think are benign and most likely post infectious or inflammatory lesions.

And then I still have the gallstones that I have known about for many years. And there was some other stuff that I need to look up on the findings to know what they mean.

Any ways she said I need to make sure my primary care doctor is aware of the results of this test, to make them aware of the stuff it showed that we were not aware of before. And that she is not sure if they will want to do anything or not, but that they may decide to do an MRI to see more about the liver and spleen.

I had my first day of training with the Roofing Company yesterday morning. Then ran to several nearby cities doing part of the bookkeeping run for my CPA job. I have today off to go to the urologist. Tomorrow I have to work for the CPA again, run a payroll and maybe do more of the bookkeeping run, or make a bank deposit for him. Monday I am going to help the Roofing co get their office and files organized, and then work for the CPA doing payroll at least.

All my best to you always. Janette

I'm still aiming at doing some FlyCleaning before work. Today I partially cleaned the bathroom, unloaded and reloaded the dishwasher, but put away the jewelry I left on the bathroom counter last night.

We were in the 50's with rain on Wednesday, and 60's Thursday. I had the heater on those nights as I wasn't feeling good anyways. Yesterday I had the fans running as we were in the 80's, today it is in the 90's, we will be in the 80's for several weeks going forward. So I am sure we will be running the fans a lot.

Have a great weekend!

Thanks!

I had my CAT scan yesterday. I felt off since then, so taking it easy again today. I go back to work tomorrow. I did make some calls and sent out some emails for work the last few days though. I even stopped by work on my way home from the test to check what mail had came in and emailed my boss about it.

Thanks Ladies! I will keep you posted on the tests. Our weather is still back and forth from warm/hot to cold, cloudy or rainy. Today I have off and I took advantage of it to try to sleep in. We are having nice cooler weather that is great for that. And I needed it as I haven't been sleeping well for a long time now. I am just taking it easy this morning. Right now I am just enjoying having the house to myself and the quiet! We had some rain last night and early this morning. I just got a reminder call about my CAT scan tomorrow, just found out I have to fast for it. I asked them about that when I scheduled it and they said no. I guess they changed their minds, or the first person didn't realize that I needed to do it. No big deal. My appointment is for in the afternoon, so I will just eat breakfast early as if I am going to work, and then just skip lunch or snacks until after it is over.

All my best to you all always, Janette

JMAHNKEN, hope all goes well with your CAT scan. My plan last week to get up a little earlier and do some FLYcleaning before work was a success. Even if I do only a few things, I feel good about how I've started my day. I'm having the carpet cleaned tomorrow, and it's been a great motivator for doing a little each day so I won't be up late tonight getting ready.

I was supposed to have a really easy and short week at work but it turned out just the opposite. So just taking it easy this weekend as it wore me out. I have my CAT scan next Wednesday. Then the next week after that I go back to the Urologist on Thursday for the results. Hopefully it is all good. Take care, Janette

Thanks! I am trying to catch up with all the laundry that keeps piling up in the garage. I washed a couple loads of blankets yesterday. Today so far I have washed two loads of the bfís blue jeans, and now starting on a load of his work shirts and pants. There will still be at least a load or two of his other clothes that need done. And there is a bunch of towels that need done along with my one load of clothes.

Plus I have some paper work to do before going into work tomorrow. My CPA boss is going to be gone until around June I think. But my new Roofing company bosses will be in and out of the office. They seem really nice and laid back so far.

Lots of things being up in the air. You seem to ride the currents pretty well.

For the first time in 16 years ( I forgot I've lived her since 2002), I actually put away my dish drainer (no automatic dishwasher), so the counter was clear. Pretty nice! But, I will not commit to keeping it up.

Also got new insulation and had to clear stuff out to make way for machinery. I left most of it out on my deck and the place looks so roomy! I doubt I can get rid of enough to keep it close to that.

My sister and I were both feeling under the weather this weekend, so we will try it again another time. The rush is over at work on the tax side, so I will be working less hours for my CPA boss. I only had to work a half day Friday, and I am only scheduled to work a half day Monday too. And then not scheduled to work for my CPA boss until Friday again for a half day. Unless a client comes up with an issue that my boss wants me to come in to try to help them. Which will make it easier for me to get around to going and seeing different relatives. Maybe I will even drive down south some time and see my brother and his wife. We had a roofing company move in with us, and I will be training with them soon to start helping them with their office work to pick up more hours. But nothing has been scheduled with that yet. It is a father and son company and they are supposedly going to talk together this weekend to try to decide what they can afford to have me do for them and when. But it sounded like they might have me put in at least a few hours in the early mornings on Tuesday through maybe Thursday, or maybe even Friday. And when they are busy they could have me working more like full time for them.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Thanks! We had a scheduling issue, so they didn't come after all. We were thinking about this weekend instead, but I might push it off myself this time. As I am so tired from working longer hours and more days right now. So It will probably happen sooner or later though.

Janette, hope you had a good visit with family.

Still stalled on organizing, but I did contract with a company to clean attic and replace insulation. Since my energy bill is pretty low, saving any money on that is hardly a motivation, but it will be interesting to see if it makes a difference in my perception of the temperature in my place. I've assumed that the high heat inside is a result of having a lot of windows facing south and a straight-on exposure of the west wall of my bedroom most of the day. But maybe it's been through the roof? The contractor said the insulation will be thicker, as that's the new standard. It wasn't thin before. Maybe I could have gotten away with just taking out and replacing the worst sections, but I think it would have saved only $500, maybe $800. I'll likely be here for 10-20 years, so, since I'm lucky enough to have the money, it could be worth the difference just from the temperature angle, But either way, it's going to be a load off my mind to have it done. It will be a nearly all-day affair on Friday.
