Did a great workout this morning on the treadmill. I did 7 miles at a power walk of 4.3 mph. I was in a good sweat when I was done. It felt great now I get to enjoy Sat. & Sunday off to rest.

I love the WATP videos, but I have also found the Spark Videos "Keeping Fit in your 50s" to be very good. They have cardio, strength and flexibility. The Spark Seated workouts provide good workouts also. There are many options and the best part, they are FREE!!!

I concur with the WATP series! They are easily adapted to whatever your fitness level and capabilities are. I've been using them for years. A few years back I was in much better shape and at a much lower weight that I am now and I could still make them challenging. Now that I'm basically starting over with my fitness I can't do nearly what I was doing before but I can still follow all the videos...just modified for where I am now. You can find them on Amazon and I just received this week a new series (it includes 18 miles of workouts) I found on QVC that comes with a resistance band....for under $40.

I'm not a big football fan, though I do have to check scores for our local team, the Pats. I do watch the Super Bowl, no matter who plays. Needless to say, I'm really happy that they won!

I can't believe we are halfway through week 4 of this Challenge. This week I've struggled with my plan. Trying to get back on track today. I know it's anxiety related but can't figure out why.

I knew today was going to be complicated. We drove for four hours down and four hours back, picking up our granddaughter, then went to prayer meeting. By the time we got home I was zonked. tried to do a little walking but didn't get in ten minutes before we had to get back in the car again.
Tomorrow's another day. Why can't NEE stand for No Night Exercising? I could have done that. My dinner was over 300 calories, too, so I only contributed 10 points today. I ate healthy foods today and stayed in my calorie range.

I'm off on our Craft Retreat Weekend, may not be around much but will post WI.

I've been reading a book by Scott Abel - Beyond Metabolism, deals with emotional eating/brain's reward system, CBT. Quite interesting. He comes from a coaching background.

In a WATP video I did today, Leslie talked about how our body is the house we LIVE in. It got me thinking. Would I let my house or my car get in as bad shape as I let my body get in? If my car had blocked filters and bad struts and low tires and bad timing, I would start fixing it one thing at a time. If I knew a gas station had bad gas that would damage my car's engine, I wouldn't go back. Yet for years I went back to Fast "Food" restaurants, and ignored my doctor's warnings to watch what I eat and exercise.
If my car breaks down, I can buy a new one. If my house falls down, I can rebuild it. When my body gives out I'm up a creek.
Talk about misplaced priorities.
Glad I'm finally getting it straight!

I have been having some serious issues with backsliding from my emotions and have gained some unwanted weight back in the last year. I really need to get control over this and not let the weight go up any further. Not sure if this will help but I will give it a try none the less.

I have started a new support group for backsliders co-leading with Avery (Batgurl250) and I invite any or all of you to join us.

This extra support group is for those who keep backsliding into emotional eating, binging and weight gain. Let's stop the cycle of personal sabotage and frustration. Let's turn our bad habits around.

Thanks Mauri for the link. I will admit that I have my favorite 5 that I rotate: broccoli, spinach, kale, green beans and sometimes asparagus if I can find a clothespin (LOL). I don't count salad greens since they usually don't have many nutrients in them.

Started Day 1 of Week 1 with a 24 hour flu bug I think all of the water helped flush out any of those nasty germs.
