LOL!! Lost .2 pounds running those errands even with the 8 ibuprofen which makes me retain water.

It does seem like the Fitness planner tends to err on the low side.

Now I'm out of sorts. According to my WFP this morning, I burned 348 calories, including 14 minutes of outside activity. When I logged my workout in the fitness planner, 60 minutes Wii High Intensity, it says I only burned 268 calories. I'm thinking, the Fitness planner isn't recording accurately. What's up with that?

The motion controller plugs into the Wii remote and it makes the remote more accurate. Movement is much more precise. The drawback is that there aren't that many games that use it yet. Of course there are some interesting ones coming in the next few months. One arrives just in time for DH's birthday in February.

Amazon has the board, but Buy.com is a little cheaper with free shipping too. I had one bad experience with Ebay and haven't been back since, but I'll check it out anyway.

I was bad today. Gave my back a rest and spent the day running errands instead of working out.

What is the motion controller? Did Amazon have the board? Also, check with Ebay.

I got my Wii bundle with Wii sports, Wii Play with a 2nd controller, 2 nunchuks, carrying bag, Wii Sports game and Wii Sports Pack with American Express points. Even the shipping was free. If you are in a credit card points program, that may be another option. Unfortunately there wasn't an option for a balance board. Has anyone seen a deal on a balance board bundle? I'm hoping to find one on Black Friday.

I happened on a one day special on Resort Sports with 2 motion controllers for $49.49 on Amazon and I'll have to say that I really like the motion controllers.

MJWANTSTOLOSE, if you buy it for $199.00, you are only getting the console. I don't believe you are going to get any games. The $249 includes a game. Mines came with Wii Sport. I bought the balance board and Wii Fit, as a bundle, separate for $84. You should see what you get with the $249. You may be able to get the Wii Fit Plus game, which is better.

But you have to buy the balance board separate. Check into the prices for the entire bundle.

The Rhythm Parade is so funny. I realized that I'm not as coordinated as I would like to be. My son, a trombone player in the hs band, nailed it. I was so jealous. When he finished, he had about 20 band members in his parade. When I ended, I had 3 (lol).

Anniejab: I agree! I've gone from 39 to 20, so hopefully I'll hold onto the 20. I'm trying not to weigh myself for 4 weeks, so I won't be doing body tests soon. I went to wiifitroutines.com and in the cardio section, I decided to turn off wii fit and did wii DDR for a 10 minutes, then back to wii fit. It was a nice way to ensure I'm getting some variety and breaking a sweat.

I just purchased the new Wii Fit Plus and weighed my two dogs and cat. I now run with one of the dogs and that is a hoot. Everything is new including the tests to see how old you are. I was 72 the first time and the last time I was 24 after I read instructions. I really like how this is programed and has an easy flow with it.

Rhythm Parade sounds fun! I may have to break down and get Wii Fit Plus.

The Wii console price drop is only in the U.S. I just checked out Amazon and it WAS listed as $199, with free shipping. A great deal!

Pam, I'm with you. I LOVE the step on the Wii Fit. I have Wii Fit Plus, and the only thing resembling the step is Rhythm Parade. You are the drum major! It is a lot of fun and harder than the standard (basis and advanced) step. The better you are, the more marching band members you have with you!

I am interested in purchasing the wii. And it's advertised for 199.00 I went to Kmart, and then Amazon on line, and both are 249.00. So where is this wii for 199?? Can anyone tell me?

The free step wasn't all that great when I choose to do my own steps to it because it didn't log them as fast as I did them. However, the Wii Fit Plus has plenty of benefits to it.
Suggestion, take the Wii Fit with you and try to trade it in for the Wii Fit Plus with some money to go towards it. The Wii Fit will transfer over when you put the Wii Fit Plus in.

CGREEN717, what is the "new step version" in the Wii Fit Plus? I love the Advanced Step and Free Step in Wii Fit, and I would be thrilled if Wii Fit Plus offered a longer version of Advanced Step or something similar.

I am so glad to know that i am not the only one who has a hard time with the leg strap in the EA Active... i have big thighs and it actually only fits me well with the extension... i do like the program but it is much more like a workout than the Wii Fit...

I got the Wii Fit Plus... i really consider it an upgrade to the Wii Fit so with the groupings it already had (Yoga, Strength, Aerobics, Balance) only a few things were added to a couple of sections... i had hoped for more... but the best for me is the whole new sections, the Training Plus which features about 15 new games and the My Routine section where you can choose your routine based on certain characteristics (warm up, work on your figure, different body areas) and customize it...

i also like that with the WII Fit plus it has added more thinking and moving to certain things, as opposed to just moving... you use the remote a little differently at times or you check your balance and also have to look at numbers and make decisions on how to react accordingly (ok hard to describe) so there is more of a mind element to it that i like... work the body and the brain at the same time:)

all this to say I recommend the Wii Fit Plus and am glad i got it... EA Active seems good... i think it depends on what you are looking for... i am looking for more fun and joy with my movement and even a giggle or two so Wii Fit Plus is all me... I'm also not in great athletic shape yet so i get a little sweat going with it which is fine... and EA is more work and honestly really annoying with the leg strap issues so easy for me to skip it...

just my .02... enjoy!

btw, thanks to whoever posted the tip about putting the balance board on your regular step for the step sequences... now THAT was a workout!

I have the EA Active, and I get frustrated because I don't like how the leg strap keeps falling down. It is a lot more like work than the Wii Fit Plus. I end up in a sweat with both games, but the with the Wii Fit Plus I end up playing for a lot longer and am always striving to beat my previous score.
When I'm using the EA Active I can't wait to stop it, but I usually push through the twenty minutes with it. I will say that with the EA Active I feel more of a difference with my body too.
I love the new step version on Wii Fit Plus. I love the bubble game, marching band, and the bicycling. I fully enjoy those a lot.

Kelly, the EA Active leg strap only seems to stay on me if it's directly on my skin. That's the nice thing about the game, since I play at home alone I can wear teeny tiny shorts I'd be too embarrassed to be seen in!

When I wear it over my yoga pants, I waste a lot of time fixing it.

SHI-TOODLES4ME: I use EA active for strength training stuff and Wii Fit Plus for cardio. Especially free steps when I'm watching TV in the evening.

I just used the Wii Fit Plus for the first time yesterday and I love it. I planned on 1/2 hour but ended up doing an hour and still didn't try everything I wanted to. The fact that it will string exercises together to make a routine is great.

Hi New kid on the block. Wanted to say DDR is Dance Dance Revolution! And it is challenging to find a good mat! Also where you hold the remotes is key. They have to register with the sensor bar! So ... hope that helps!
Does anyone have an opinion on wii fit vs. wii fit plus?

I *LOVE* DDR. I hate the cheap mats though. I used to have a really nice one for my ps2, but the shop I bought it from isn't around anymore. The only place I know to get the nice ones are online for about $100 ;_; I got mine from the store for $40 and it was every bit as good as the $100 ones. There's a way to mod the cheap mats to be more stable, I'll see if I can find that website again. I'll look at the set list and see what kind of songs this version has :)

I'm getting Wii Fit Plus around the 1st of the month. I can't wait. Till then, I'm making due with wii fit and EA active.

Well, a month ago I got Wii DDR. It has been a TOTAL blast (at least for me). I started out as a beginner, and I'm already up to basic/difficult. They have a "workout mode" that tracks how many calories you burn. I like this game in particular because they have a setting where you use the wiimotes and the pad, so you get a full body workout, and it certainly makes me sweat.
I got Wii Fit 2 days ago, and I'm LOVING it! It's not an incredible cardio workout, so keep that in mind (I've found the people disappointed in it are disappointed for that reason). But if you get Wii Fit to tone up, strengthen, and do light cardio, it's a lot of fun. How is the Outdoor challenge game? Fun?

I'm SO EXCITED! I got Wii Fit Plus last night, going to play today. I already know it's not a great cardio workout...BUT I also know that it's something that will make me move more, which is a plus. Next on my wish list is Wii Active, but that's for another month :)

Got the wii fit plus at costco for 17 bucks... the only improvement really is the calorie counter. I was dissapointed that it doesnt have more aerobics or atleast more challenging boxing and step. I wish I would have just put that 17 bucks into buying the biggest loser or fitness trainer

I find the Wii EA active to be really challenging. A few people have told me they'd like a review of the new Fit Plus, so I'm outlining my activities on my blog - the title will say what activities I'm reviewing.

I just got the Fit Plus, I haven't tried it yet but will let you know if I like it. The only problem is that I never had just the Wii Fit so I wont be able to tell if it is an "improvement"

I have not seen Wii Fit plus. It sounds like it is worth checking out. Lately I have not been using my Wii fit or outdoor challenge as much but I have been doing stuff outside the Wii programs and have been logging in my time on Wii fit. Still I need to get back into my Wii routine as well.

Thanks for the info on the fit plus... I am trying to decide if I want that or the biggest loser. Is the new fit challenging enough to use as your only workout? I stopped using the first one because even after an hour I felt like I needed some good cardio and who has that kind of time. Anyways any input on the matter would be great thanks guys

Everyone has probably already seen this, but for those of us who don't have the Wii fit yet and want to know the calories burned for the Wii sport stuff and other games (like Facebreaker, boxing), etc. this web page has boxing, tennis, and bowling calorie estimates.

Yes, I bought the new motion sensor attachment. Actually, one came with Wii Resort, and then I purchased one more so that both of our remotes would have them.

The wireless I referred to is the router you might have at home for Internet access. If you use a wireless router, it can pick up your Wii system on the network. This enables you to do Wii system upgrades, send your Mii characters to friends, download the Obamas, etc. :-) Let me know if you have a wireless router with your Internet ISP hookup. I'll walk you through it!

Does anyone know how accurate the Wii board is? This morning I weighed myself and it said i had lost 2.5 pounds since yesterday morning O.O

That didn't seem right, so i weighed myself and it said I weighed .2 pounds more, then a 3rd weigh in and it said another +.2 4th weigh in was -.4 and 5th was +.2 again o.O

At that point i left it alone since I had to get going. I did the board test and it said it was working fine, the batteries are the ones that came with the game, about a month old, and 3/4 full. I have it on very short carpet that would not affect it, and never had before. I checked somewhere in the middle of all those weigh ins, and there was nothing on the floor nor any of the feet that could affect the board. I was wearing the exact same thing the entire time, and all the tests were within 10 minutes from the first till the last.

Any ideas what's going on? It just seems insane that I lost two pounds overnight because Mondays are my "free" days meaning it's my day I don't exercise and I don't count calories. AND the kids and I went out for frozen yogurt last night.

The way out is through.

We will find a better place, in this twilight.
