thanks. got it. various kinds. i can do the assorted one leg at a time, both on my back, on my side and on my knees.. my back won't allow both legs together.

btw, sparkpeople's single leg (third link) raise. therapist says not supposed to lift leg past other thigh and knee.

I'll do 20 Lying Single-Leg Raises [each leg], divided over two sessions if necessary, a day for 5 days = 100.

what are leg lifts? can't find them in exercises. and what are the alternatives? i thnk i'll go for 30 for each of 5 sessions. so i commit to 150.

Exercise Week! This is a challenge because we have some people that are running marathon runners and Zumba instructors to struggling to exercise because of injuries or getting back into shape. (I am in the latter group.)

If you are finding it hard to get started hear is an article on little steps

So here it is! The dreaded but oh-so-good-for-you (and me!) Leg lifts

Declaring a goal of how many you wish to accomplish in the week and then posting your progress, like this:

By Tuesday, I declare 100 total leg lifts for the week: 100/0
On Tuesday I do 5, so I would post: 100/5
On Wednesday I do 20, so I would post: 100/25

and so on. You choose which way you'd like to handle the challenge by declaring which method of MC on Monday, the day it starts. All that I ask is you choose a goal that you think about what will challenge you as far as number. If 200, or even 300 is a challenge for you, then post that, but if you are already whipping out 300 each week with no problem, push yourself; challenge yourself, REACH!

Some folks have a hard time with this MC because of neck or back problems. For those folks, do it this way: lay on the floor and lift both legs at a time off the floor as far as you can and hold it. You can do this for the Challenge and plan for yourself what is comfortable.You may also try a standing leg lift crunch, either holding or not holding a weight.

Also, it also wouldn't hurt to increase your water, decrease your refined sugar and de-stress, but hey, one step and one MC at a time, right? :)

If you choose, you can combine any other of the tips from the articles, but they are not required for this weeks MC.
