I'm starting to realize just how poor my self-care skills are, and how connected self-esteem is to successful weight loss. Need to make it okay to make my dreams real, starting with being able to dream at all!
Thanks for the link to HeadSpace.

It's wonderful news that you are cancer free and can start getting back to previous activities.

I did the earlier challenge too and am glad you introduced us to the program. I have a lot of meditation tapes but still do the Headspace ones sometimes as they take very little time.

my thought is i'm so glad you are cancer free and will be able to get back to zumba.

i appreciate your introducing us to headspace last time. i did the 10 free days at the time. i should do them again. at least that's something i can do in spite of my month long "cold". i too have done no exercise. my food isn't bad. it's my metabolism and not enough activity.

i'm a nibbler, i guess.

This week is week 4 in the rotation, so it's a self-esteem challenge and I've picked a new one. Since I lost 50 pounds and then gained it all back over the span of 6.5 years, I'm doing some investigation into my relationship with food. What kind of eater am I? What happened to my healthy eating habits over that period of time? It has to be more than will power to maintain so that I'm not constantly feeling like I'm on a diet.

I felt, at one point, that I had made a lifestyle change but then what? Did I simply forget everything I had learned, did I get lazy, or did my brain twist things so that I thought I was eating properly but wasn't? I don't know...so in searching for some answers I ran across this article about the Headspace diet.

It's apparently a book. I haven't read it, but I do like the article and it makes sense.

This weeks' MC is to read the article, determine what kind of eater you are, read the solution and let's discuss. Going forward, in the coming weeks, we can put some of the solutions to the test.

Let's get ourselves in the right head space to change our minds about food!

The good news is that I've lost the weight again, am eating clean and working out...but it appears I need to be every mindful, not so much about being on a diet, but of the type of eating that is best for my body.

3/27/17 UPDATE: Well, I've gained some back again since my breast cancer diagnosis last September. I haven't been able to work out and I've had two surgeries in the last six months. I'm just in a waiting game with the working out and will be teaching Zumba again starting 4/21/17 (hopefully, that's what's planned anyway). Good news: Cancer free so everything after that is gravy, right? :D

I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Hugs ya'll,
L.
