I know I got at least 4 days of 5 veggies and 5 fruits. To my surprise it was harder to get the 5 fruits in.

Happy to hear you are recovering well Lynn.

I've had 4 days so far where I was able to get at least 5 veggies and 5 fruits in. It's not as hard when I remember what a serving size actually is. 6 baby carrots, I can do that
Hoping today is my 5th day for the week. Berries have been good this past week, helping me on my fruit.

Averaging at least 1- 2 vegetables every day this week, which, sadly, is actually an improvement for me and 3-5 servings of fruit. Definitely a challenge!

Thanks, guys.

Yesterday, Banana, blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, blackberries.
Not a single veggie, unless you count sweet potato, but I think that's a starch.

Will try harder today...and to get out and walk!

glad you are doing well. not needing the treatments is a biggy. hope you finish recovering smoothly.

yes, i expected this again.

salad, veg soup, fresh raw green peas, carrots and string beans.
ya pear, banana. i'm better off with more veggies and less fruit. i'd have a kiwi if they were ripe, but they are not.

I'm having trouble with veggies too on this one. Usually, I don't, but yep...trouble in River City on them this time.

Thanks, everyone, for your concern. Recovering as expected. I'm not sure what I've said before but during the surgery they found NOTHING in my lymph nodes. Since the DCIS (Ductal Carcinoma In Situ) was non-invasive, I am extremely lucky and do not have to have chemo or radiation. I "simply" (relative term) have to recover from the double mastectomy and the Free Tram Flap Reconstruction (abdominal incision goes from hip to hip). Essentially, I went to sleep with boobs and I woke up with boobs (though I can't really feel them yet). Ping me if you have any questions whatsoever on this or my surgery. I am an open book about it...NO question is "dumb"...so that I can help other women get early detection, which frankly, saved my life.

I went back to work on 10/30/16, and all it well since I'm working from home and don't have to drive in. Only missed 3 weeks and 2 days of work (yay!)

Getting stronger every day....thank you all for your concern....much appreciated.

I also hope you are feeling stronger every day. Epic fail on the veggies this past week and even lighter on the fruit than I normally am, so glad to have a 2nd chance and will strive to do better this week. Busy getting ready to go out of town for 10 days so it will again be a challenge though, but that's what this is all about - right? A challenge! Not promising 5 a day, but sadly, even 1 every day would be an improvement! I have at least felt like I was starting to get back on track the past few days and happy the scale is finally going in the right direction again! Don't give up, everyone!

You knew we would do this one again, didn't you? This one is just TOO GOOD not to do twice.

Let's go for another week and really ingrain a habit, shall we?

This week, it' back to the Intake Mini-Challenge and in the past this has been our most popular MC!

As I said, it's an Intake Challenge Week so we are going to concentrate this week on what goes IN the body to help us either lose or maintain our weight or break through a plateau.

Here are the details:

They say that we can "survive" on a diet that includes 2-3 servings of fruits & vegetables (EACH!) per day. That's nice, but did you know that we can THRIVE on a diet that includes FIVE servings of fruits and veggies per day???

This weeks MC will be to each 5 servings EACH of fruits & veggies at least 4 days out of the 7 this MC is in effect.

Now, I've done this particular MC quite a few times in the past and because of that, in the back of my mind during the day is always the thought that I should get my fruits and veggies in. Part of what this Team tries to do is create new and better habits in our lives. This is a good one, so let's start! ;)
