This is a challenge! Managed to eat 3 servings of vegetables on Monday and 2 fruit (if you count the pineapple on my pineapple upside down cake at a dinner we went to!) ;-) Yesterday I was home with a back injury so only got one serving of fruit and no veggies. Today, I've had only 1 veggie and 3 fruit so far. Hope to add a couple of veggies for dinner. Not much of a vegetable fan so even 3 is a stretch for me, but I'm working on it!

Apple, persimmon, mango chunks, 1/3 cup orange juice (fresh squeezed)

Much harder than I thought. I actually ate the broccoli even though I wasn't hungry, just to get in another vegetable. I'll keep on trying !

Wow! Five - really? Fruits are easy, but vegetables not so much. I guess that's why this is called a challenge! Definitely something to shoot for.

I usually start my morning off with oatmeal & a little plain yogurt with blueberries, blackberries, strawberries, raspberries (or whatever I have handy), a handful of raw almonds and a touch of raw, unfiltered honey...that usually gets my fruits in. Veggies are definitely more of a challenge but I find when I roast them, it really brings out the flavors and I can't stop myself from eating the whole tray! Cauliflower is great roasted! Yum...think I've talked myself into some today!

This challenges is always hard for me but I'm comiting myself. I haven't done a mini challenge or working on my magnance for two weeks and have gained a pound because of this. I reLly need to stick to this.

This week, it' back to the Intake Mini-Challenge and in the past this has been our most popular MC!

As I said, it's an Intake Challenge Week so we are going to concentrate this week on what goes IN the body to help us either lose or maintain our weight or break through a plateau.

Here are the details:

They say that we can "survive" on a diet that includes 2-3 servings of fruits & vegetables (EACH!) per day. That's nice, but did you know that we can THRIVE on a diet that includes FIVE servings of fruits and veggies per day???

This weeks MC will be to each 5 servings EACH of fruits & veggies at least 4 days out of the 7 this MC is in effect.


Now, I've done this particular MC quite a few times in the past and because of that, in the back of my mind during the day is always the thought that I should get my fruits and veggies in. Part of what this Team tries to do is create new and better habits in our lives. This is a good one, so let's start! ;)
