I did a spinning class this morning (50 min), I'm not sure how many miles that is but if someone has a guess, I'd be curious to know.

Not a good week for me for this particular challenge. I usually get a few miles in every night after work but had places to be last night and Tuesday, so I just have Monday night so far.

Again, thank you for posting even when the going gets rough. I am sorry for your loss.

This past week I was sort of "checked out" due to the Jewish holidays. But I am back and ready to go! My exercise most days is running so I am excited for this challenge. It will really give me the boost I need to get back in the game.

I'm sorry to have not posted the challenge this week. I had to let go of my precious, baby boy, Maxi-Pup yesterday and I've been distraught and just forgot to post. Here is the Mini-Challenge for this week:

Time for our Exercise MC this month!

Let's get out our pedometers & see how many miles, as a team, we can walk for this weeks Exercise Mini-Challenge! Walking can be so beneficial for all body functions AND it can be counted as minutes exercised, if you wish for your tracker.

For the Team Challenge though, we'll post in miles. Below is an example of how we'll each post what we've walked:

IMW: 4 (Individual Miles Walked)
TIMW: 6 (Total Ind Miles Walked)
TMW: 22 (Total Miles Walked as a Group)

On each post you make, just add your IMW to the previous posters' TMW and that way we'll keep a running total of both the TMW and your personal TIMW through next Sunday.

To complete the MC, walk just 4 days out of the 7 that the MC is in effect, whether it's a 1/4 mile, 1/2 mile or multiple miles. We will keep track of it up to 2 decimal points and it will be tabulated like this:
Example:
If I am the first one to walk and I walk 2 miles on Monday, I would post:
IMW: 2
TIMW: 2
TMW: 2

The next person's first post would look like:
IMW: 1
TIMW: 1
TMW: 3

Then if I posted again, it would be:
IMW: 1
TIMW: 3
TMW: 4

Count only 'planned' walks, not just the normal roaming about we do during the day as in grocery store shopping, etc. If you make a planning a walk with the dog, count it! I know Rover will!

Also, running will count, so if you run, this is the MC for you! Too, the elliptical counts, the stair stepper and so does the cycle machine, if you're at a gym. This is also the first time we are going to count swimming in the mix. If you swim a half of a mile, not bobbing, but swimming...count it!

The purpose of this MC is to just get our legs MOVING! Our legs hold the largest muscle in our bodies! Let's use that to our benefit, shall we?

HINT: For this MC, there is a free smartphone app I use called CardioTrainer by WorkSmart Labs, Inc. You can put reminders in it for walking, plus it maps your course, gives speed, distance & also tells you how many calories you burned on the walk. They have a Pro version you can pay for but the free version works just fine for my purposes and I've had it for over It doesn't matter the distance, just get moving!

Now, since we have so many new members, let's really hoof it! Who's walking?
