I am very rarely kept awake or woken by indigestion, Minnie. My problem is pain and the difficulty of finding a position which is reasonably comfortable. I don't usually eat if I can't sleep but do walk around a lot.

Last night was good. Went to bed at 11.30 and didn't wake until 6.00. Tried to sleep for another hour but not possible.

that's tough paolina.i wake, too. i go to the bathroom, eat and go back to sleep, though. my friends doc gave her an antacid that helped her sleep. i don't like the idea, but the point is indigestion and/or gas may interfere with sleep. you also have the addditional pains, but you aren't complaining about them. hope you're not having them.

i went to bed much too late last night and slept a late this morning. got my 8 hrs. i think. but how will i get to sleep early enough tonight to get up early tomorrow?

Just joined the team -- so a little late on the uptake! I don't drink soda of any kind now, quit in 2004 - not even an occasional soda. So I guess by default its on to getting enough zzzzz's.
Now that is a problem for me! Love watching some of the 10 pm shows -- which puts me to bed around 11 pm. Well, the alarm goes off around 6 am. Guess what? That's not 8 hours! So looking back at my progress this week so far, I have averaged between 6-7 hours. How does that make me feel? Tired. When I do reach 8 hours, I feel much more rested. Can someone please tell the networks to put some of my shows on earlier?? emoticon

Sorry I'm late to the game. I read the awesome article about SP Challenges and just joined the team. I'm going with the CTC as soda is a HUGE issue for me. I think I can do the next 4 days without it. Wish me luck!

It's obviously going to be a stressful time for you, Lynn, and the more rest you can get the better it will be.

I need the zzzzs and am trying to go to bed a earlier. Problem is waking after 2-3 hours because of pain/discomfort and not being able to drift off again.

Yes, extremely nervous but it is all in one place, right breast only, so those are both good things.

May need to take some ambien to sleep this week.

This week, the schedule calls for an Intake Challenge and we've made it a Choice Challenge this time, so you'll choose which of these MC will do you the most good for you!

Choice 1: Intake some Zzzzzz's!

Are you the type of person that folks describe as "burning the candle at both ends". Me too! Hopefully, I won't run out of candles anytime soon! Anyway, I've always figured that I'll sleep when I die! There is just too much to do that's fun these days!

Yet, did you know that catching enough z's is actually important for losing weight? No? Well, check out this link and find out how two hormones that are essential to weight loss are decreased significantly when there is a lack of sleep:
www.proactol.com/pro-articles/weight
-l
oss-and-sleep_23.html

Read this article to find out about how best to get in a good nights sleep, why drinking a dairy product before bedtime is your best option, and how technology may play a role in keeping us up at night, rather than helping us wind down:
www.livestrong.com/article/74796-sle
ep
-important-weight-loss/

Also, in case you have trouble sleeping, here are some tips from SP:
www.sparkpeople.com/resource/nutriti
on
_articles.asp?id=876

(Don't forget to get your 3 Points for reading each article today!)

So, should you choose the Snoozing part of the MC for this week, beginning Monday night, you'll be charged with getting as many hours of sleep as you can for 4 of the 7 nights this MC is in effect.

Of course, discuss it here in this Forum.
1. How do you feel?
2. Do you think getting enough sleep helped stop you from snacking?
3. How about concentration? Did it help?
4. What are your personal tips for a better nights sleep?

or

Choice 2: Cut The Carbonation (CTC)!

For a lot of folks, soft drinks are a major part of their calorie/liquid intake and a hard thing to put aside.

Yet, did you know that carbonated beverages are not only a problem for a diet because of what they include (loads of sugar and high fructose corn syrup) but for what they EXCLUDE from a diet? If a person is busy drinking "liquid candy" all day, what are the chances they will make more healthy choices like water?

Check out this link: www.emedexpert.com/tips/soft-drinks.
html

Read how soft drinks can strip us of our needed calcium:
www.ehow.com/list_6465969_harmful-ef
fects-drinking-soft-drinks.html

So, if you choose this section of the MC for this week, you'll cut out all carbonated beverages for 4 of the 7 days the MC is in effect. And, of course, post about it in this Forum.

1. What tips do you have for others who are cutting the carbonation?
2. What obstacles have you encountered?
3. Did you notice a significant change when you cut back or stop?
4. What replacements did you use?

Please pledge your choices by Wednesday at the latest, and let us know if you're going with ZZZZZ's or CTC! :)

Good luck ya'll, I know you can do it!
