We are now at that point in the month for a "Motivational/Self Esteem" Mini-Challenge. Don't lose focus on your exercise and healthy eating though! This is to focus on our "inner selves" and get things going in the right direction along with your bodies!

So, this is "Pass It Forward" Week.

A friend told me something really important a few years ago and I STILL repeat it to myself and others. It was:

"We wouldn't care so much about what other people thought of us if we realized how little they do."

You see, most people are worried about what THEY look like doing something to worry about what YOU look like. Since everyone is worried about themselves, that leaves no one left to look at you! What an empowering thought! If I could conduct myself as if no one was looking, what would that look like?

What I DO know is that I always feel good about ME when I am focused outside myself; when I'm 'sending it out there' and showing my concern and appreciation for others. Read: When it's NOT all about ME!

Funny how that works, right? Yet, encouraging others and trying always to be kind helps me stay less self-absorbed, less self-focused and broadens my world away from myself and the "me me me's".

So, this week, I'm going to ask you to step out of your world just a little in order to pass some of the good stuff forward. The last few times we've done this MC, it had some surprising results! Some team members even pledge to continue their efforts. Let's see how you feel about it!

The MC comes in two parts.
Part One: Give a Shout Out!
Go out onto the member Sparkpages and simply read the page or their blog and leave a comment. You may add your personal comment of encouragement, a shout out to a fellow team member, or 'dial up' a complete stranger! Make it interesting, make new friends, make it FUN!

You can either use the search feature in the SparkPages section to find someone with whom you might have something in common perhaps or simply read the latest blogs listed on the front page of the Mini-Challenge Team. Pass your courage, your strength, your 'tude on to others and see how it comes back to you ten-fold.

Part Two: Practice Random Acts of Compliments!
If you see someone who is maybe wearing something you think looks great on them or if you spot someone whose eyeglass frames look just terrific on them, shout them out a compliment. Don't be shy. It will be appreciated, I guarantee it!

A few weeks ago, one of the dance instructors at the place I go to social dance came up to me and said that several of the gentlemen told her they loved dancing with me and that I was a good follower. Wow! THAT made me feel wonderful. It boosted my self confidence!

Later that evening, I told one of the new guys how great he was doing and that he had good rhythm. I had Passed It Forward!

It feeds our self-esteem to receive but it also bolsters our own confidence when we give without expecting in return. It's MAGIC!

So, for each part of the MC, complete it for at least 5 days of the 6 the MC is in effect. That means you'll be doing Part One at least 5 times and Part Two at least 5 times.

I promise you, you WILL feel good if you do this. :) Who's ready?
