I'm so excited about my commitment to this week's challenge. Honestly, I love water but have a difficult time leaving my desk, limiting my love for coffee/soda in exchange for H2O, or getting in the recommended amount.

However, this week's challenge help me identify and appreciate the many personal benefits associated with with drinking 1/2 in 24 hrs: better in the gastro department, feeling of satiety, smoother skin, and more energy. A side bonus, is that I had to get up and move around at the office to refill my water cup.. it feels good to move around instead of sitting all day.

This is a healthy commitment that I will have no problem continuing... thanks for posting this challenge!!

Btw, does anyone know how to calculate the calories and nutrition when juicing? I LOVE to juice but I don't know cal/nutrition and how to put in in SP?

Hit this goal outta the park on Tuesday ... And enjoyed every gulp. Drank 2 cups of hot tea (8 ozs each), 2-32 oz tumblers of water and a 1/2 bottle to and from work. Gave a whole new meaning to water, water everywhere!😊

Suffering from hip injury which Dr has limited my workout until MRI can be completed but not giving up. Doing what I can with what I got. Happy Wednesday everyone!!!

would so love to be able to join in. have just bought a new water filter, the water tastes delicious and the weather is far too hot here but am on fluid restriction for medical reasons and most I can manage is four glasses by depriving myself of tea and coffee.

I have a nice Zumba tumbler that is 26 ozs. It's green....which makes absolutely NO difference to anyone but me. I just like green. LOL Does that make me drink more water? Who knows! Can't hurt.

I drank 3 of these today so I'm above goal. Yay Yay!!

Plus, I practiced Zumba for an hour and a half tonight. AND, ate well again today. #forthewin

What a great challenge this week...and coincidentally, I was just telling my mom that I need to make a conscious effort to drink more water and stop drinking soda/pop altogether.

I brought a beautiful 32 oz glass to encourage me to drink up. Knowing that if I can drink 2 of these cups a day, I am well on my way to drinking 1/2 my weight.

This week, I will focus on 1/2 in 24 hours. Here's to everyone in feeling hydrated!!! Drink up!!! emoticon

Great to see you, BlossomKitty! We are in the same boat with gaining all the weight back. Ugh.

I'm committed, however. I did 65 ozs yesterday. emoticon Probably a little more but I spilled my cup at BodyFlow class...sadly. I was doing a stretch and I stretched right into my cup.

This morning I had my shake from the NutriBullet with kale, carrots, blueberries...all yum stuff..and for dinner last night I had shrimp & asparagus, also yum. I'm back to tracking my food again.

hi! Im back to SP after a looooong while and after gaining nearly all my weight back.... :-P
anyhow, ive decided making more healthy, loving choices for myself is a priority.

So, in that vein, i will commit to the 64ounces a day. Oiy! I may be running to the BR even more! Any tips for a newbie. I guess planning your water intake could be helpful?

That's where I'm at. My family knows how to motivate me I guess, competition & money. Now, every time I think about maybe eating something on the list above, I ask myself: Is it worth $600? The answer is NO!

64 or 1/2 in 24!!

Here we go again! This is our 1st Intake Mini-Challenge (MC) of the 6 months series (and of the new year) in the rotation. Next week we'll repeat an Intake MC, then we'll have an Exercise MC, and then a Self-Esteem MC the following week. ;) This is one of my all time favorites! Let's drink up!

I have been taxed by my family (who is worried about my gaining weight again) with a challenge. They know how competitive I am! My sister & I are to compete with each other, the first to lose 12 pounds and then the first to lose 25 pounds wins a monetary payment. If we keep it off for a year, another payment. It's not a huge payment but it's enough to inspire a healthy competition between us. The first step in that is to increase my water and fortunately that is the first MC of the year!

Option A is for you to drink 64 ozs. of liquid, preferably water, in 24 hours for 4 out of the 7 days the MC is in effect. The MC will include the usually Monday Start Weight Weigh-In & it will also include logging in daily to post your water intake, just like we’ve been doing with the fiber Up Challenge this week.

Where does the ½ come in, you ask? Well, I’ve read up a lot on liquid intake in preparation for this challenge and it seems that we (humans) should actually be drinking ½ our body weight in ounces on a daily basis for it to do the most good (and for us to drop weight like rocks (yeah!)). That means a 180 pound women should drink 90 ounces of water daily, *ideally*.

So with that in mind, here is “Option B” of the MC, should you choose to accept it:

You may “up the challenge” for yourself and win a Gold Crown Award by declaring that you will intake ½ your body weight in ounces at least 4 days out of the 7 days this MC is in effect.

Declarations must be made by the end of the day Wed, but may be made as early as the day this is posted; simply post that you will do either the 64 or ½ in 24 hours as your personal MC and we will be off and rolling!

I hope that each of you will share your tips & tricks for getting the water ‘in’ this week with your teammates. Mine is to add a Lipton Green Tea To Go to each bottle of 24 oz water that I drink…and to keep it on me at all times. Here are more tips:

• Drink 1 to 2 glasses of water as soon as you get up in the morning. You have been asleep for 6 to 10 hours, and that's a long time to go without any liquids. (This often helps people overcome their addictions to caffeine, as re-hydrating the body and brain lead to clearer thinking and better energy.)

• Keep a beautiful pitcher of filtered water near your work space so that you are constantly reminded to drink during the day. Fill up the pitcher with the amount of water you want to consume in the day.

• Drink a glass of water before exercise.

• During exercise, drink about 8 ounces of fluid every 15 to 20 minutes.

• Avoid drinks with caffeine or alcohol, which have a dehydrating effect.

• Never restrict the amount of water you crave during regular exercise.

• Always make fluids a part of your exercise routine.

• Bottles, bottles everywhere! Keep bottles of water in your car, at the office, or around your work areas.

• To reduce the amount of chlorine in your drinking water if you aren't using a filter, try this simple tip: Allow drinking water to stand at room temperature for an hour or more, which will allow most of the chlorine to evaporate out of the water.

• Drink at least one glass of room-temperature water with every meal.
