Oh, no, Minnie!!! I'm having a hard time this week with this one. I may be back on the sauce worse than I thought...

I'm 4'10.5". A normal BMI for my height tops out at 121.

Yesterday I was good. Today I bought a 20 ounce bottle of soda at the car repair shop, where I went to have my window fixed after my car was broken into last night. =(

part of my problem right now is...
I don't want to quit my diet pepsi, as I love it, and enjoy it....

Don't get me wrong - I know I should and I know I need to,
but just can't right now.

PURPLEBIRD, I used to be EXACTLY the same way with Diet Dr Pepper!!! I tapered down over the course of several MONTHS, because I was so terrified of the aspartame withdrawals. I tapered to a point that I didn't have any withdrawals! The problem is that I'm "back on the sauce," so to speak, but I can at least skip entire days, but I will do it this week for the whole week!

nice topic.

don't think i'm having any, but not sure. my food is very limited now (liquids, only) and i'm not giving anything up. i refused ensure, but i wonder if it has artificial sweeteners. probably want the sugar calories. sure it has lots of other junk.

My biggest source of artificial sweetener is my fa free french vanilla creamer. I use 1 Tbsp ( a serving) in my coffee each morning and I try to limit myself to one cup. Fortunately, I just ran out and only have light cream in the fridge so instead of buying more I'll see how I like going without this week. I do occasionally indulge in a Cherry Coke Zero, but infrequently enough that I can avoid for the week :)

This is a brand new Mini-Challenge but it's been something I've been doing for the last 6 months and I wanted to share.

I was a big, big lover of The Little Pink Packet called SweetnLow, the artificial sweetener. And when I say love, I mean LOVE. I even sewed myself a personal carrier for my purse especially for the pink packet. There are other packets out there, there's the Blue, there's the Yellow and I think there is now the White & Green (Truvia). I was using 2 pink packets PER CUP of coffee or tea plus adding pre-sweetened creamer on top of that. I was drinking 2-4 cups of coffee a day, so that's up to 8 packets in just my coffee or tea!

My doctor told me to get off of the artificials immediately. He said that if lab rats are fed only those sweeteners, they gain weight, though the cause is not known.
