Success breeds success for me. But once it's gone (because success is also fleeting), it's hard for me to stay on track.

I'm 4'10.5". A normal BMI for my height tops out at 121.

What Motivates me to stay on track?
I've already lost 70 pounds; my health is improved, I look better, and feel better than I have in 15 years. I still have 20 pounds to lose, and I truly believe that I can only look that much better, feel that much better, and be that much healthier! I NEVER want to go back to that dark place.

This is very timely because I've begun snacking, and I need to stop now!
By setting sharp, clearly defined goals, you can measure and take pride in the achievement of those goals, and you'll see forward progress in what might previously have seemed a long pointless grind
S – Specific (or Significant). No more extra snacks!
M – Measurable (or Meaningful). My Tracker will reflect less than 1200 daily calories
A – Attainable (or Action-Oriented). Walk away from the snacks
R – Relevant (or Rewarding). My scale will show a loss of weight
T – Time-bound (or Trackable) Until April 1st (then I will re-evaluate)

It's motivation week! I'd like to know what motivates you? I have a hard time pinning it down for myself. I found that giving myself food or other kinds of "prizes" does not work for me. I was motivated to focus & be committed, however, when I knew I had a cruise coming up and I wanted to look good in a bikini....THAT motivated me. But what else is there to being motivated, to staying committed? Is it a plan? A vision? How about having a deadline? 

When we did this 6 months ago, I had candy in the cupboard. I've been known to fling candy into the woods behind my house so that I wouldn't eat it. As I was sitting there contemplating this week's MC and what truly motivates me, I thought I'd like a piece of candy. I decided against it. 

Now get this: Not 10 minutes later, without a thought in my head, without even realizing what I was doing, I had opened the cupboard and grabbed a piece of candy and when I "woke up" and realized what I was doing, I'd already taken one bite of the mini-candy bar. I'm wondering if I had truly been FOCUSED that maybe wouldn't have happened? Had I been motivated to stay on track, would it have happened? I tossed the remainder of the candy bar before plowing it needlessly down my face but my motivation, my focus, needs to be at the front of everything I'm doing.
