Thank you Coach Denise. The articles you posted were terrific - just what I was looking for to help me increase my daily fiber.

Thank you ENGINEERMOM for the King Arthur flour tip.

I'll have to check out this site more often for helpful tips. I do use both chia seeds and flaxseed and like adding them to smoothies and anything else I can think of.

I reground flax seeds to many foods for fiber. If not fine enough the body will not use them & they will not do any good.

I have pleurisy, 2 types of anemia, macrocytic anemia, Iron deficiency anemia, from blood transfusions with wrong antibodies, causes blood to replace daily instead of 100 days, chronic pneumonia, pleurisy, chronic kidney disease, a partially collapsed lung, low blood pressure & blood clots in both lungs for 3 years. Now formed scar tissue.I am 56 years old. I had cervical cancer 6 years ago, no signs last 4 years as well. I have new blood clots now,2019.I am on P.S.T. time zone.

Two other major changes that can add a lot of fiber if you tend to cook from scratch:

White whole wheat flour (King Arthur is the only brand I know of that sells this)
- Unlike regular whole wheat flour, white whole wheat flour is made from a different variety of wheat, and is lighter in taste, color, and texture, which makes it much easier to sub completely for white flour in most recipes.

Whole grain cornmeal (I buy Bob's Red Mill Whole Grain Stoneground cornmeal)
- If you cook with a lot of cornmeal, or are just looking for some breakfast alternatives to oatmeal, whole grain cornmeal is 8g per 1/4c.(dry).

Also, adding drained and thoroughly rinsed beans to smoothies allows you to add a lot of fiber, and in most cases you can't taste the beans (I only tasted them once, in a smoothie that was mostly veggies and not sweet at all). White beans are particularly good for this.

I need help. Looking for a bread that is higher in fiber but not too high in calories. Any suggestions?

I found a Muffin recipe with Flax seeds on Spark and love it. It makes a big batch, which I freeze for future use.

Ground flax seed can be sprinkled on salads or used in soup for getting the fiber we need.

I have been adding ground flax seed to salads, soups and keeping my fiber 25-35 grams daily.

Reaching the 25 to 30 grams each day has been easy. Just a little planning was the key.

On SparkRecipes, you can search by minimum number of fiber grams, so you may want to give that a try to find some new high fiber recipes. Here are a couple articles to add more fiber in your day as well and replace various foods in your current recipes to help increase the fiber amount:
