SBEAR5 emoticon I hope your recovery goes well.

Not much going on here. No progress to report.

My Fitbit died (it was six years old) and I got a new Charge3. Not sure about the wrist type, but that's the only choice these days (I think). I'm still getting used to it.

Hello Ladies!

Without going into to much detail, I am actually recovering from my Second Summer Surgery! emoticon The "cyst" that was removed during my first surgery was actually a borderline tumor. SO... I was refered to an oncologist. Long story short... I had a partial hysterectomy at the end of August. Much less invasive surgery this time, but still.. I'm tired of "recovering". I have my post op appt next week to find out if anything they pulled out was cancerous or otherwise concerning.

Job is going well. I'm very thankful that I've been able to work from home so much while recovering. I am actually applying for another job though. Same company, it would be like a promotion really. So, hopefully I'll hear back from that soon and I won't have to worry about being on call anymore.

That's my somewhat depressing update. LOL Hopefully things start going better.

Hi all- sorry I got busy with middle child and high school soccer tryouts/2a days at end of August.
MTMOON it sounds like your reunion allows you to catch up with extended family- my family has never had a reunion and I always thought it would be fun.
SBEAR how is your new job and are you all recovered from your surgery?
I’m recovering from a puncture wound in my leg from falling on some rocks last weekend so had to again put off restarting workouts. Maybe next week! Maintaining weight, eating mostly good food.
How is everyone?

I'm still hanging in here, not very successfully. It could be from lack of trying...

The reunion was kind of disappointing. My son didn't go, and my sister's kids had other plans, so just my brother's kids showed up. The usual California and Oregon cousins were there, so that was good. And another cousin who I hadn't seen in seven years was there and we had a pretty good visit.

The weather was pretty good on Friday (the gathering day), totally miserable on Saturday (cold and windy), and fairly nice on Sunday, but by then everyone seemed worn out, so things wrapped up pretty early. Keep in mind that this was sort of a camp out...

One bright spot for us was the osprey nest in a nearby tree with mama osprey really vocalizing her displeasure about our presence invading her territory.

@MOMTOMONKEYS2 oh no! I'm so sorry about your foot! Are you able to do any treatment? I know I've had a few issues over the years that I thought the same "running wasn't in my cards" but was able to do some "rehab" and for the most part, don't bother me as long as I do the proper stretches and icing. :) But, of course I understand, some injuries are just stubborn and hold us back. Dangit.

@MT-MOONCHASER did you have your reunion? I hope you had a great time if so!

I'm doing alright. This was my first week back in the office. I had my follow up with my surgeon on Monday. Apparently my cyst was "borderline tumor", so I will have a follow up with an oncologist next month. See what he thinks... either keeping a close eye on my ovary or just going ahead and taking it out. BAH! Other than that, not much is going on. I got a new running watch for my bday, and I'm admittedly bitter that I can't use it for awhile.

Happy Thursday!!!!

Well it’s been 3 full weeks using the couch to 5k running program and I’m suffering foot pain on the outside of my right foot. Peroneal tendon is my self diagnosis. Sad face. Running maybe not in my cards.

MTMOON I understand feeling like I am my own worst enemy and it’s hard too when you know it just takes a little momentum. I do swear by a low carb, moderate protein, healthy fats way of eating. It’s working better for me than any other approach I’ve ever tried. My first noticeable change was improved energy and less joint pain. I would encourage you to look into it and see if it might be something you would feel would work for you! I’m always here for questions and Sara practices this lifestyle too so we can offer support. We can support whatever you need!

Good Morning Ladies! Happy Monday!

Recovery is going well. Feels slow, but it's probably normal. I went back to work on Friday, but thankfully I am working from home thru this week. I'm taking a few short walks everyday, going to a little bit further each day. Next Monday is my follow up with my doctor.

@MT-MOONCHASER I hope you find the motivation you need to keep yourself on track! And above all... I hope you have a wonderful time at your reunion!

@MOMTOMONKEYS2 welcome back from your vacation. Awesome job on maintaining!!!! Good luck with the new position and duties! You'll be great!!!

Back from a one week vacation and maintained my weight! Practiced OMD but enjoyed my dinners and drinks and a dessert here and there. Made as many low carb choices as I could. I kayaked 2 days and ran 3 days. Back to strength training tomorrow. I start my new position in the office tomorrow as the office manager... will be hiring a second admin and the supervising 2...yikes! Excited and nervous.

It's good that you have a kitchen helper. I sure could use one.

I haven't had a great month, in fact, it pretty much sucked. Just not feeling much Spark (more like none...).

About 2 1/2 weeks to a family reunion -- Do you suppose i can lose 30 pounds before then, she asked sarcastically... Even 5 would be a big help!!! (Might make 2)

I sure hope everyone else here is doing better than I am.

Happy Sunday ladies! I had my surgery on Thursday and now I'm home recovering. My eating isn't great, but I know this is temporary. Right now I'm just eatimg whatever to have something in my tummy when I take my pain meds. Dh is going to do some meal prep for me though, so that will help me get back on track.

How's everyone else doing?

Thanks so much @MT-MOONCHASER . I'm mostly sad that I'll have to spend over a month OUT of the pool and river! DANGIT.

We have had QUITE A BIT of rain. We need it, but we're also a little sick of it now. Actually... I'm not even sure we need it. First time I can remember NOT being in a draught by this time of summer.

Hope everyone is doing well. Doing ok with low carb. Surgery is in 2 days!

Sara -- Hugs to you ! What a way to spend a summer...

We have been having a few warm days, but mostly nice days for early May - 70"s... Today we had a couple of thunderstorms with a couple of really loud cracks and thunder. We may have another one gearing up, lots of wind...

Yard work has been pretty sporadic. Must get some more mowing done tomorrow, along with a dumpster run.

Have a great weekend!!

I was good the first few days and this morning but then I got some bad news and ate sugar this afternoon. ugh. Tomorrow is a new day, right?

So, my bad news is, I have a large cyst on my ovary that needs to be surgically removed. They can't do it laparoscopically due to the size, so they'll have to cut along my bikini line... must like a C-section I guess. I'm obviously glad to be getting this taken care of, but I wish the cyst wasn't so dang big.

That's my news. I have a poor attitude regarding exercise right now. LOL I won't be able to run for at least 6 weeks post op. Surgery is a week from Thursday though, so we're gettin' it done.

Well I survived today. I wanted cookies but thought of checking in with you and decided against it, lol. I had coffee with cream, a chef salad and more coffee with SF flavoring. I ate late and am skipping dinner I think. I haven’t figured out my carbs. Tomorrow I’ll eat easier things to count, lol.
I did work out this morning but wasn’t 100% on effort. Hopefully tomorrow I’ll have better effort!

I try to run everyday, but I've had more doctor appts than usual lately, so I had to skip a few days. I also don't run on Sundays. AND... during the week, it's just a quick, 1 mile run. Someone once told me that to improve you need to be running 3 -4 times a week. But that might not apply to EVERYONE.

I'm good for a 14 day challenge. I can start today, Sunday, Monday or Tuesday. Just let me know what works!

This weekend we are working on our deck. We have an above ground pool and DH is building a deck around it. Other than that, the usual, cleaning house, menu planning and grocery shopping. Fun stuff. haha

A run every day?!! Good job! Especially since it’s probably hot there by lunch!
If you decide to do a low carb challenge I would do it with you Sarah! I find if I celebrate but try and make the best food choices I can before and after I don’t get too messed up. Eat low carb up to your birthday and have your treat food/meal and back to it! You can do it :0)
I jogged yesterday 1 sad mile. It was slow and rough! I need to run at least 2x a week or it’s never going to get better! Hopefully now schyis out and soccer is over I can get in a groove.
I need to buy and plant flowers this weekend. Clean and organize my fridge. We also may go to the brewery block party Friday night. What are you up to this weekend?

Working from home is going well. I went for a run everyday last week during my lunch hour. Did ok with eating. I should probably do a 2 - 4 week strict low carb challenge myself. Just something to kick start, but I feel like I should wait till after my bday. hahahahaha But, it also couldn't hurt to do two , two and half weeks of strict LC and then celebrate for a few days (it's a big bday) and then get back on the wagon.

Sounds like a good summer started for you though @MOMTOMONKEYS2

Have you guys gotten any rain? Any improvement with that smoke from fires? Hoping you guys all have a beautiful summer.

Well school is out, soccer is over and my oldest is in KY at a leadership conference. Summer training for hs soccer starts Wednesday and I need to start looking for stuff for my son to do.
Exercise is good. Food was not good this past weekend while camping for soccer. Trying to practice some good fasting today to recover. Going back to strict low carb either way with the food I do eat. Thankfully I determined I like good whiskey on the rocks and it’s low carb! No beer or wine for 2 weeks.
Workouts are Jillian M Ripped in 30 4 days a week and 1-1.5 miles of jogging on Wed and Sun. That’s the plan anyway.

Sara how is the working from home going? Are you settling into a routine?

Not much going on here, except pounds, and they are going on...

I haven't actually been eating too badly, just really lacking on the exercise.

It must be time to start mowing the yard again, where I started a week or so ago is looking shaggy. Now that there hasn't been rain for a few days, it should be growing slower.

It has finally warmed up to spring like temperatures. It was about 85F today, but now we are getting smoke from some Canadian fires. If this keeps up it's going to be a long smoky summer.

Hello Ladies!!!

Sorry I've been so absent. Who knew going back to work after 3 months of being laid off would be so hard! I think part of my problem is I've been waiting to start my new schedule where I work from home 2/3 of the time. But I start that on Monday, so NO EXCUSES. haha I'm working on developing a work out schedule for myself. I do best when I have a schedule/plan.

Eating has been only 50% good. I don't know what it is, but I only seem to care about 50% of the time. I really need to work on that. Maybe I'll finish my vision board that I meagerly started about a year ago. Has anyone done one of those? It's hanging right above my computer, so I'll be looking at it all day when I'm working from home. LOL

@MOMTOMONKEYS2 How's the running? At some point, you push thru that invisible wall and run 3 miles and want to go further!

Hope everyone is doing well! Miss y'all!

Hi small quiet team. I miss you all. Hope you all are having a good long weekend. Quiet uneventful weekend for me, yard work yesterday and hit Costco and the Brewery. I have some marigolds I want to plant that DD brought home from science class. Fasting today until friends come for dinner. Might shop for paint tomorrow so I can work on freshening up our common areas. Also may shop for a new stove top insert which is overdue.

Missed you Sara! You day with your mom sounds perfect! I watched DS play soccer and went shopping with my DDs.

How are you liking your new job? I’m still working up to 1.5 miles of jogging. I stuck to a mile Sunday but jogged the whole thing...very slowly. I’m planning on going tomorrow morning. Will do 1.5 even if walking most of the extra. I’m wondering if I’ll ever get to 3?!

Happy Monday everyone. I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day. My mom came down and I cooked her a low-carb gluten-free dinner and dessert and then we went shopping! Very nice day overall!
I've been struggling with my exercise and eating since starting the new job but today I've been really good about drinking my water, I brought my breakfast, I brought my lunch and I've been able to get some steps in. Looking forward to when I start teleworking in about 2 weeks and then I can go for runs during my lunch hour. The good news is though I haven't really gained any weight. I haven't lost anything either but since I haven't been diligent I'm happy that I stayed the same.

Happy Sunday evening. It snowed but didn’t stick earlier today during DSs soccer game. Sun came out and 3 of my tulips opened- sure sign of spring?! Supposed to rain tonight. Tried to add mike 2 yesterday and it was a hot mess. Cut it back to 1.5 and will stay there for awhile. No hurry but my own.
Still working on strength training and seeing some muscle tone in my arms. Legs are still major jiggle-ville. Major regrets about giving it all up years ago...
low carb is good, not Keto level but considering a 2 week challenge at Keto levels. Fasting has been successful and holding steady at 136- 137 despite chocolate sweets oopsies. Room for improvement.

Another week down the tubes, as well as seeing the end of another month. A third of the year gone and I'm still about where I started...

I did somewhat better this week as I have joined three month long challenges that my friend IMLOCOLINDA has started - freggies, water, 10 minutes of exercise. I hope that's the kick in the butt that I need to jump start my journey to better health.

Weather here continues to be unseasonably cool with just a few days to keep hope springing eternal... Things are greening up enough that it wouldn't hurt to do some lawn mowing, if the weather cooperates with the time off windows.

As to working out or eating healthy and doing it because we know we should....
I think it’s a lot of factors but the biggest evil is the all or nothing mental state. I suffer from it. I have been able to get back into exercise only after my first week of sleeping in every day and finally working out Thursday and Friday. And telling myself that was enough and then trying fo 2 workouts the next week and then managing 3. Etc. today I was going to work out but allowed myself to sleep this morning. I will walk with a friend at lunch and maybe get in my 1 mile after work.
Food is hard. If I eat sugar I’m screwed. I throw in the towel and eat like no tomorrow. I’m trying to figure out why I do that. However I do try and get back to eating low carb clean food and fasting as quick as I can and reassure myself that I know how to recover. Today is a recovery day. Off to eat bacon!

Sarah~~ congrats on the new job!! Sounds like a better fit, good for you!!

And Carrie..Sounds like your workouts are moving right along..good for you! I truly am missing it!! I can honestly say I want to move more and start lifting again... No more excuses!! We head to DisneyWorld on Sat..I'm hoping what I've done up till now will be enough to keep up with everyone!! I'm not sure why I just don't do what I KNOW I need to do??

Do you all struggle with this??

30 DS yesterday and again today (2/3 circuits) and then a 1 mi jog tonight after work. Starting to see a little definition in my calves and arms. Long way yet on thighs and abs, lol. Feels good. Food on track. Need more water today.

Walk/jog complete today, 1 mile at 13:14 min. Last time I was 14:53 so improvement. I jogged the second half mile straight. Shoop is my groove I guess, lol. If I run 3x a week I should be jogging the whole mile soon and able to add the second.
April first I’m cleaning up my eating. No processed white crap. Dark chocolate 72% or higher. Lots of water. And fasting as it suits me.

Great News about the job @SBEAR5!

Spring... yep. 1/2 inch of white wet slush. It was snowing so hard last night at 1030 it was a fantastic sight really- luckily it didn’t snow that way all night or we would of got the forecasted 4 inches. Grateful we didn’t.

I hope that all the 'owies' are getting better.

Sarah - It's good that your new job is so much better.

We're having spring here, pretty low key, but spring. Most of our snow has melted so now we have water everywhere. The creek is flooding some, but should be going down soon. We will miss the next round of snow, but may get some moisture of some sort early next week. Weekend looks good, though, in the 50's.

I actually hurt myself doing a deep runners stretch. I did it wrong and my hip was out for almost a week. I heard a pop and then the pain improved. I think everything was sore from it being out. Today the muscles and tendons around the joint are feeling about 95%. We will see if I wog today. I may wait until next weekend.
I was doing so good until Girl Scout cookies arrived along with work stress. Bad combo. Trying to get it under control after just a few days so it’s not months again.

I intend to open my house up today since it’s supposed to hit 47. Air it out and clean. Need some groceries. Work is stressful and I relapsed on Girl Scout cookies. Going to try and regroup today. Hip is feeling a little better so maybe exercise will be possible next week.

Wow!! The Fab Four have all checked in this week.

Snow is finally going, but lots of water and slush and MUD!!! (No pavement to speak of in town). Also lots of potholes...

It will be a while until yard work starts.

Just enjoying the warmer weather, yesterday was actually "normal" for the month. It's been pretty much below normal since the beginning of February - that darned groundhog jinxed us this year!

Congrats on the new grandchild, Toni, and on the new (and better) job, Sara. I hope it works better for you.

Hello Ladies & Happy Spring!

The new job and hours are wearing me out, so I haven't been online much. They are super strict about online activity, so I can't do anything during the day and then at night I come home and want nothing to do with the computer. LOL

I'm waiting on my official offer this morning, but I'll most likely be starting a new job on Monday. It's much better pay and has actual benefits. My current company doesn't allow you PTO for the first year and after that it's only 6 days a year. So, a better opportunity presented itself, I'm happy for it!

My anxiety has still been pretty high, but I'm down about 4 lbs so far this month. Just need to keep it off once the anxiety settles. haha

Hope everyone is doing well and the slush goes away soon.

Toni- congrats on your grandbaby!!! :)

Hey everyone!! emoticon

Sounds like everyone is getting workouts in and going strong!! I've been working on getting the eating under control and starting back up with strength training...I agree the slush, ice, snow etc is NOT fun to try and walk on...definitely not worth falling down, which I do at least once a year!! emoticon Than I'm laid up with a hurt back or knee..so no excuses right?? I have an elliptical and treadmill...I just need to get busy...you ladies are super inspiring!!

I've been doing a lot of traveling, spent 2 weeks in TX to meet my new grandbaby..he's #4!! And of course be with the other 3 and of course my son and daughter in law..haha they come 2nd now.. we were able to go to Dallas for a long weekend and stopped in Waco at Chip & Joanna Gaines Magnolia Farm..(uummm the bakery is to die for emoticon )

I need to be more present on this team and Spark People in general...I'm working on it!
Miss you all!!

Toni

Tried to work out but my hip is bothering me and it is getting worse since Last Thursday. Coffee w/hwc and fasting until 3. About 20 hrs. We have an ice dam on our roof, w
My wall I leaking and I spent 2 hours cleaning snow off the roof and getting yelled at by my spouse. Didn’t do a thing for my hip. I’m now drinking wine 🍷 and as much of it as I can.

The beer/wine thing sounded great.

Melting is going slowly so far. Quite a bit of water on some streets with soft mud underneath. Did I mention that the town is pretty flat and doesn't drain well - no storm sewer system...

It has only warmed up to around the freezing point so far, so things are going slow. That should change this week as it is supposed to be in the 50's by midweek. I hope we don't get a lot of flooding. Town should be okay - we have a dike around it - but there is a lot of flat land around and a creek nearby that regularly floods. As long as we don't get another snowstorm, (or rain) we should be pretty good.

Have a nice St. Patrick's Day. I plan on some corned beef and cabbage.

MTMOON how is your melt/mud situation? Ours is slush and puddles. I’m heading to the paved walking path for my 1 mile today. Only way to do it! I’m going to try for at least 2 jogs this week. I’d like a total of 5 work out days this week. Hydration is my other focus. My food is the same Keto/low carb and purposeful fasting.

I got in 3 workouts and then overslept this morning, so didn't get one in and probably won't get it done tonight, either...

Snow is slowly turning to slush and then to mud. There is a lot to be said about pavement....

Boss is thinking about hiring a person who pretty much talks nonstop. The boss is pretty pollyannaish and overlooks the obnoxious qualities of people she hires, then has problems with them... She has made some really horrendous hires, but they were mostly not in my hair. Sometimes it's nice to hide in my little hidey-hole office and not to have to interact with the customers! (And most of the staff)

Enjoy your weekend.

I managed 4 workouts this week. Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday. Only 1 jog. Maybe next week 2 (1) mile jogs. Did Killer Thighs workout yesterday and was so stupid sore and tired I just had to sleep and not work out today. Traveling for DS state wrestling today and tomorrow so no work outs. Plan to fast as much as possible and take smart snacks. I’m feeling pretty focused and hope to bust through these last few pounds and most importantly get fit.

Things are starting to melt a bit. There were a couple of big puddles with slushy edges on my drive home. Our highs are supposed to be around the freezing point until the start of next week. Then we are supposed to see somewhat warmer temps - low 40's, but still freezing up at night. Hopefully that's what will continue until the end of the month. Lots of potential for flooding around us.

Slush is stupid. I tried to convince my boss we should be able to wear jeans until the snow melts. I wore heels and wondered what I was thinking yesterday! And I agree about flooding. My son couldn’t go to school for the last 20 days of the school year because his school was surrounded by water. I can see it happening again, there is nowhere for all this water to go.
I didn’t run last night.... just wanted my sweatpants and to watch my DVR of the Voice. I did workout today and will try for a jog Thursday.

Up to 41 here today for a few minutes, but mostly in the 38/39 range. Our little bit of pavement is full of potholes...

Still lots of snow on the unpaved streets and it is still pretty hard and packed, which is okay as it is hard to drive when they turn to slush.

Town is flat, so not looking forward to all the water when the snow melts...

@SBEAR5 congratulations on the new job! $$$ is nice even if the micromanagement not so much! I hope your anxiety alleviates after you settle into your new job. Keep up with the good food choices!
@MTMOONCHASER still jogging on packed snow and ice here and it will be a slushy puddley mess when I do my 1 mile after work. At least it’s paved though! But the 30s temps are nice. We are getting closer to winter being off the ground and over!!
Work is crazy always behind and my boss has started to gently remind me I am working too much. Can’t win... not enough getting done and they remind you of that too!

WTG @MOMTOMONKEYS2 on the running!

I started a new job last week. I like the job but it's a VERY micromanaged environment. So.. we'll see. I may pick up the job search again soon. I go back and forth between giving them a chance and just using them for experience and a pay check until I find something better. BUT... I have a job for now, so yeah!

I haven't been exercising but my eating is certainly under control right now. I'm so anxious that I don't have much of an appetite. I'm hoping the anxiety goes away, but in the mean time I'm using to my advantage. LOL

That's my update. The weather is nicer, but we're supposed to get some pretty strong storms tonight.

Happy Tuesday!

emoticon Good to have the goal.

Way too much snow here for getting out and walking, let alone jogging. I usually do WATP, but haven't been doing it lately, I think it's been a week. Just so tired of all the snow and cold...

On a brighter note, it got up to 30F here today and there was some melting. Tomorrow is supposed to be high 30's and then cooling off to around 30 for the rest of the week. I'm so tired of the snow, but not looking forward at all to the mess when it melts. No pavement on our streets, so lots of mud!!!

MTMOON- I was finally able to star running yesterday. Walk/jogged 1 mile loop in 14:52. Will keep up with the mile until I can jog the whole thing. Goal is an 11 min mile and eventually a 5k. Also upped my weights to 5lb dumbbells. I want to feel strong again. I got a little fire going and it’s staying lit!

We will be having below average (and below zero) temps for at least another week.

I am so over this weather, but it just keeps on...

Hmmm, spell check thinks that wether is not a word - must not be shepherds...

emoticon

p.s. When I googled wether to make sure that I was correct in my definition, Google asked my if I meant "weather". Guess farm life and lingo are passe.

I agree. Spring doesn’t exist. We shoveled a couple inches tonight before dinner and it’s -22 wind chill now. Another 6-10 inches expected through Tuesday. Was hoping to start jogging out doors in a week but I’m probably gonna have to put that off for another week.

It would be fun to visit ... and bask in the sun. My sister and I had been tossing around the idea of going to see Pink in concert in Dallas but it’s not come up again recently.
I noticed on my friend feed you were logging some running- good job Sara! I’m looking forward to starting to train again. March is my plan. Hopefully get past some of this snow and cold.
I’m sorry about the job hunting being disheartening. I hope something comes up soon.
MTMoon, we have had the grossest slush the past 2 days... snowing again last I looked outside tonight. I hate the feeling of wanting to eat like I’m trying to fuel myself for a long sleep! My food was better today. I have room for improvement. I did work out this morning, LV2 of the Shred and tomorrow I’m going to do Killer Buns .. it about killed my buns last time emoticon But in a I’m getting stronger way!

February is a great time for you gals to visit Texas. emoticon

I think I'm finally getting a routine down for working out and general housework. I've been running for about 20 mins 2 -3 times a week, but this week I increased it to 30 min. and then I do circuit training with weights 2 times a week followed by about 10 min on the elliptical.

Food is still 50/50, but I'm working on it. It's been a hard last few days. I've been on my period and I'm always a bit ravenous during this time.

No real leads on the job front. For the most part, I have a good attitude about it, but for some reason, yesterday I was super discouraged. Feeling better today though. I guess I just need to tell Satan to "shut up!" emoticon

Sending you all warm thoughts!!!!

You guys may have had balmy, but we seem to be Arctic bound. Yesterday it made it to positive numbers (8 1/2 days of subzero), but that didn't last long. It was -23F here when I checked this morning just before leaving for work, up from a low of -27F. Made it up to -2F before starting to go down again. High for the week is predicted at +8F on Friday.

BUT --- the days are getting longer, even with the cloudy gloom. I could still sort of see detail outside at 6 p.m. tonight.

I am still getting the denning bear urges to eat everything in sight... Maybe warmer outside temperatures would help that. Less snow would certainly help...

I agree abou the garage! So nice to have this time of year. I would of been cool with this weather in November ( more so anyway) but it’s mid February and I am ready for signs of spring not oodles of snow and deep freeze. It was balmy today- 33 I think!

Still in a deep freeze here, -15F and the wind has picked up. My furnace is running a lot.

Mostly I am hunkering down and knitting a lot when I don't have to be at work. Missed half a day on Friday because my car didn't start at -35F. Tried it again around 1 p.m. when it had warmed to -20F and it started right up. I think I need to add a garage to my bucket list - actually it was already on there, but I think I need to move it close to the top. I need to get my basement redone before the other things make sense.

We may see temps above zero by Tuesday. Last time was over a week ago. I'm definitely ready for spring!!!

Maybe just give the car a quick start on Thursday and let it run for awhile for good measure! They keep extending our wind chill advisory.. now through Part of Thursday. I decided I needed wine for dinner... what can ya do. Probably not looking good for a work out tomorrow!!

Weird February this year- more below zero weather in the past few days than all of winter last year!

Are you having any luck on the health front?

So far the car has started easily. Wednesday and Thursday nights are supposed to be the coldest at around -25F. I don't have to work Thursday, but getting going on Friday morning may be interesting....

We might see a temperature above zero by next Monday, although Friday is calling for zero (so far)

We've been pretty lucky on the wind front as the wind advisories have been wrong and we've had little wind, although this afternoon it kicked up a bit.

@MT-Moonchaser Did you get your car started? Still cold this morning...brrr. Got another inch of snow last night. -8 and wind chill -22. Just more cold. And another inch of snow forecast cast for today and an additional inch tonight. It’s February, right? Mother Nature decided to cram all of winter into 1 month.

I need to work out tomorrow, gotta hydrate today first. I drank hot coffee all day yesterday and that’s bad. Going to try hot water today instead of caffeinated water emoticon
Work is getting crazy. I’ve gotta figure out a work load strategy that gets stuff done with less people. We are now sharing our admin with another department and I’m not sure how long that’s going to last. We actually asked for a 3rd admin in our budget next year.. cannot get everything done now!!
Weight is back up 4lbs. Argh. My carb bloat range is 137-141...eating bad Birthday and super bowl food=141. Now need to detox, hydrate and move!! This weather inspires hibernation not movement!

Air temp -15F here this a.m., wind chill pretty much the same so far as it is pretty calm. Don't know how much snow we got, I haven't been out to check and wind was blowing yesterday so it would be just a guesstimate anyway. Not looking forward to trying to get my car started, but who knows... No heater on it, no garage.

@SBEAR5 I did 3 strength/cardio workouts last week and this week. We have also done a hike the past 2 Saturdays. My goal is to improve my strength and my lung capacity with some workouts and then add in the walk run training with the goal of reducing my chance of injury. I seem to be on a sugar binge this last week- I don’t know what triggered it but it’s been ridiculous. Sugar aggravates my asthma which won’t help the running so after my daughters birthday today it will be rest time. My goal is to workout 4x next week. No hike today- 16th bday party errands and house cleaning instead. Then our weather takes a dive to single digits for high temps. Probably football and low carb food tomorrow. If I was smart I’d do a cardio video tomorrow.
Sara, good luck with job hunting- what are you hoping to find in a new job?
@Mom4Hockey let me know how I can support you in your journey... accountability or brainstorming etc!! I’m here.

Happy February Ladies!!!

I hope everyone is doing well!

@MOMTOMONKEYS2 how's the running?
@MOM4HOCKEY Disney World!!! What fun!

My main goal for Feb is to get a job. LOL I also need to really get a routine going. I can't believe I haven't done that yet. Some of it is because things come up, but really... I should be in some sort of routine by now. haha I'm getting better at making good food choices more consistently. And I've been reading SO MUCH. I think I did 6 books in January.

Hope everyone had a great week and is staying warm!!!

Hard to imagine the first month of 2019 is almost over!! emoticon I think this winter I've struggled with the short days more than I ever have?! I never felt it really affect me before, this winter I just feel it, like a heavy blanket just tired, no energy to do anything...ready for some longer days thats for sure! I want to walk outside without breaking a leg haha

I do have some trips coming up that I'm trying to get ready for...one being DisneyWorld with my whole family! So excited to be there with the grandbabies and see it through their eyes...but I NEED to strengthen up! have a lot of energy to keep up with!!

Hi @MOM4HOCKEY ! So glad to see ya back on here.

I can't decide in January is going fast or slow. LOL It's hard keeping track of the days now, so that might be part of the problem.

I've managed to avoid ordering girl scout cookies. LOL Let's see how I do once they have them in hand. oof
