Actually, SP never gives anyone a calorie range that goes below 1200. Its somewhere between difficult and impossible to get all of the nutrients we need below that level. Depending on activity level, many people need more than that. I burn at least 3200 calories per week and eat at least 1600 calories per day.

It can't be enough calories. By using the formula you used I would only be taking in approximately 69% of what my doctor and (most importantly) this site recommends for my healthy weight maintenance.

I agree with those who suggested you use this site's recommended calorie intake tailored to you specifically and use the nutrition tracker religiously.

They're both on the mark and are excellent tools.

THINK you can do it and you WILL!

Hi Carolmarol,
I'm in Tacoma and the rain has/had been an issue of mine. For a long time I just didn't get out and run/walk in the rain. Then I got a breathable rainjacket. I have decided that skin is waterproof and that I truely won't melt! Some of my best workouts have been in the rain. I have learned to celebrate the fact that I have overcame the rain! Good luck to you.

I agree! That doesn't seem like enough calories AT ALL!!! You'll find the nutrition tracker on here to be very helpful with tracking your calories! I LOVE it!! Good luck to you.

I agree... even at your height... that seems like not enough calories.. I would check out your goals on your start page make sure that between the calories you indicated that you would burn a week and how much you wanted to loose and how quickly all added up.

Carol, there's no way that you could get all the nutrion you need with that few calories. That and I'd be starving! I love the show, but I wouldn't take their advice on this. When you enter all of your information in Sparkpeople it gave you a range that started no lower than 1200 calories, right? Use that. Its a much healthier calorie range.

You're welcome to check in every day, but you don't have to. See what works for you. I use the trackers and do a few other things every day, but I don't necessarily check in with more than one or two teams.

It can be overwhelming at first, so just keep putting one foot in front of the other. You're tackling the most important questions first, so just keep doing that. You'll get there!

Ann

Hi Carolmarol here, I am a bit concerned, Ive got the biggest loser smiple swaps book and bob says my intake should be 903 cals well I am 129 lbs and I am very short 4ft 7 and 1/2 inces tall so it says if you are under 150 then multiply your wt by 7 =903 would that be corect?
and I am adding everything up and it just doesnt seem like I am getting enough food. I am new to all this, and getting overwhelmed. and I know its just 30 lbs but for me being small as I am its too much. I am really getting down about this.So what do you all think? I really dont like counting cals, and I know you gotta burn more than u take in but I have just started exercising (treadmil) I want to get outside to go to the high school track but the rain is just to much.Anyway please reply coz I am going nuts in Kent lol. Oh and are we supose to check in everyday? Thanks ~Carol p.s.Thanks for all the welcomes to spark u all are so nice
