I am terrible for going really long periods of time without seeing a friend. I really do need to start spending more time with the people I love. Another thing I will be working on is to unplug devices prior to going to bed. My sleeping habits have been horrible the past week!

I always eat breakfast and break my exercise for the day in manageable increments, usually 12-15 mins a time unless I walk outside then I do 35-55 mins. I plan to do something I've been putting off, clean out the freezer and work on decluttering this week a little at a time. Keep sparking.

Morning all just popping in to say hi. Been doing good with tracking and drinking water and being active. From house cleaning every day to walking in the evenings. I am down from 252 to 248.2, Hope all is well with everyone.

Evening everyone-
Praying that today was a good day for each of you.
-I am still here I am still taking one day at a time with one bite at a time.
-Been a busy day for me today I had to take my mom to a dr's appt early this morning which turned out well. Then we stopped to eat which we ordered an omelet with hash browns &wheat toast & we shared it but the other good news is that I only ate my half of the omelet & my half of the hash browns no toast did have ice tea with lemons no sugar--so I thought I did good.

Praise the Lord to each of you. May you find that today is a better day than yesterday for yesterday is a gone as it is a memory now but today is here to make new ones. If you are like me who has fallen off the "I need to lose this weight" lifestyle I am here to let you know that today is new for me as I start my new lifestyle again. I am so thankful to the Lord for His new beginnings each new day. I am here to let you know that you ca start again today. Just take it one moment, one second, one minute, one hour at a time. I am going to make small goals like they do for weight watchers so who is still in it with me. I sure do need a person who is not afraid to tell me the hard truth (maybe in private but who knows might need it public also). Have a wonderful day. I may not get back on till Monday evening but I shall return if you will let me.

A lot of the habits listed I have down packed, but there were a few that are still a work in progress for me. Such as stocking up on portable snacks that are healthier, I tried giving snacks up completely but I find I binge when I do that, but if I plan my snacks ahead of time I don't binge. Sleep is another one that I have been struggling with and I think it's from reading my Kindle prior to going to bed maybe. I am thinking I should put it down at least an hour prior to going to sleep and maybe that will help?!

H All,
I'm fairly new to this site. Love L S cd's! I love weight training! more than I do Cardio, witch is why I like her cd's. I hurt myself doing heavy weight, I gradually increased, But evver since then, My rt hip and lower back have given me problems. So I'm kinda staring physically from scratch. I do agree, I did like the way my body looked 3 yrs ago. I'm In Physical Therapy now, starting off with a mile, Picking up some weight for upper body, mini squats, using toning bands, but I have to watch how I move.
I'm 64, retired hairdresser, 40,in the biz. So glad to be here. Its the boost I need!

I was on a medication, with a side affect of weight gain. Doc said I can stop taking it. I,ve cleaned up my eating, am walking, I did this before, I can do this again!

I agree too. I enjoyed reading that article because It speaks the truth on so many levels. Especially with setting goals and that could go for weight loss or anything else that you could be struggling with. I never realized as to how important the goal setting process is!!!

emoticon I agree, I stopped yoyo dieting when I focused on getting healthy by eating right, drinking water and exercising rather than focusing on how much weight I lost or not. Keep sparking!!

Surprised I'm the first one this week to respond!!!!!

Good article! I relate to real-life goals/movement goals ... it may be subtle changes day to day but the more frequently I get 'active' the easier all over movement starts being for me. I agree - but had never thought about it in quite the same way before - that movement is a PRIVILEGE! And we ought to honor that in our bodies and move them as much as we (reasonably) can daily.

I also read the linked article about a success story - the year Amy who lost weight by NOT focusing on a weight loss goal but instead made a resolution to try 10 new veggies ... and lost 37 lbs. I think sometimes not doing the same thing over and over year after year in our weight loss journey but changing it up - not only changing diet or exercise - but where we place our focus or change how we think of 'goals' can give us a 'fresher/newer' feeling approach.

AZ and MK, I can relate! I weigh in monthly. I know that isn't for everyone, but it works for me. I was weighing myself continuously and beating myself up because it wasn't budging, well it wasn't budging because I was weighing myself too much. As soon as I broke free from the scale, it actually started moving and moving in the "right" direction, lol.

Having a eating disorder makes it hard too, but everything in that article, I could relate to, and moderation is key. Also, when they talked about "good" foods and "bad" foods, and everything in moderation. That is so true. If we deprive ourselves we will lose the weight but then when we start bringing those "bad" foods back in to the equation, the weight will go up. Everything in moderation is the key, I believe.
