Welcome to the team. Do yourself a favor and learn about your disease. ASSUMING Type 2, Diabetes is the disease, and it is NOT high blood glucose, but rather high insulin resistance. Insulin resistance begins from high carbs... that "typical american diet" thing. However at some point insulin resistance is caused by MORE INSULIN. Do NOT get on that train or it WILL.KILL.YOU!

Get off high glycemic carbs. Eat LOTS of healthy fats, moderate protein and low carbs. Low glycemic index carbs are just fine, as much as you want. We have a low carb group here, join us.

Doing this will yank the legs out from under the requirement for insulin. Now study about intermittent fasting. We have a group here for that subject. Don't worry, it is NOT hard, in fact it quickly becomes quite natural. Intermittent fasting will drive your insulin resistance down.

Diabetes is not dealt with well by the medical establishment, they want to throw drugs at it, specifically INSULIN. Just an FYI, Insulin makes you FAT! Your own insulin drives the blood glucose out of your blood into... FAT. If you add more from your doctor it makes MORE FAT. DO. NOT. GO.THERE. You will get fat and DIE!

Diabetes IS insulin resistance and is a DIETARY disease. Attack it with a good diet and you will be in good shape in no time. You will lose weight, keep it off, and your diabetes will go away. Do not "manage" your diabetes, CURE IT! Yes, I am serious. CURE IT!

Welcome! The biggest help to me was cutting the carbs way down, eating healthy fats, LOSING the sugar and salt (I don't salt anthing -- enough salts usually in the foods we eat), eat WHOLE foods. If you don't have an exercise regime, it's good to start slow and develop one. It all helps.
