I haven't read the whole plan, just what is on the Facebook site he has, but I don't think it seems balanced, either. I do have a problem with my IBS and with eating a lot of things, so have had to eat some of that (like potatoes and such) and It doesn't give me much strength that way. I am drinking smoothies now with protein powder to help with the lack of protein I am able to eat right now.

The plan he has posted is the McDougall Program for Maximum Weight Loss. In one of his posts it said not to have any fats or oils. So I wonder how do you get fat soluble nutrients like fat soluble vitamins.

I am not exactly sure what this is called, but has a lot of starchy foods and grains. Has anyone here ever heard of something like that or tried it? The list of to eat has all the whole grains, potatoes, sweet potatoes, yams, squashes, beans, peas, lentils, yellow and green vegetables. No more fruit than 2x a day.

A cyber friend has been on this for a few months. He has lost weight, lowered his A1c from 12.5 to 6.6, and been taken off 4 of his meds. I can't understand how that is lowering BG since there is so much starch and grain.
