Saturday – Well met w/the attorney. I have one more meeting that will be sometimes after I get back from Mayo Clinic. All the rest of the things that need to be done they handle in court. My part is done! Celebrate good times!

We switched things up a little. Yesterday we went out to supper! It was nice. We just wanted a change.

Got the new futon that we ordered and it’s perfect in the room. PHEW.

Rain, rain, rain.

Here’s to a superb Saturday!

Hugs

We still have the hot 90s. It's 95 now. I would like the 70s. Maybe upper 70s, low 80s.

Isn't that often the way with things when you need them fixed. I hope your dryer will keep working for a long time now. I used to have a truck that would do the working find bit when I took it to be fixed and the mechanics would think I was crazy. Then I would leave, it would heat up and stall in the middle of a busy street.

Hey, you can send some of that rain our way. We just don't get any this year, it seems.

Not getting the pole saw looked at today. I am going to start checking the garage to see if that one part it is supposed to have is out there. Then maybe I will take it to the hardware store and see if they know how to get it fixed up.

Friday – Well, the repair tech came out yesterday for the dryer. ANNNNNND . . . the bloody thing performed perfectly! No idea what happened, but he spent a good deal of time going over it with a fine-tooth-comb. **SIGH** BUT if it does this again, am going to see what’ on sale and get another dryer just to be sure. Not an emergency now I guess!

Off to the attorney’s office. Raining like a banshee this morning!

Well, it’s FriYay! Hurray

Have a fabulous Friday.

We had another really hot day today with temperatures in the upper 90s. I am so glad the gym where I play pickleball is air conditioned. It's too hot to do anything outside.

Tomorrow I will go get dog food and in the afternoon I am taking my pole saw to see if it has all the parts and we can get it working right. I don't know how I am going to get the entire branch from the tree cut up. If I can use it, I am thinking I will cut smaller lengths of the wood so it can be used for crafts like painting or wood burning. Come to think of it, maybe I can do something with the smaller limbs, too. I haven't ever tried something like that.

Here's hoping it will cool down around here. It's not expected to until next week.

Hope you all had a wonderful day and have a great day tomorrow.

Thursday – Well it was nice to have Jason’s unplanned day home (work from home due to an accident which closed off a part of the highway he travels daily.)

Got the paperwork ready for tomorrow. Hurray!

We have a repair tech coming later to look @ our dryer which seems to be agonal. **SIGH** But it is 11 yrs. old. Never mind my parents’ dryer lasted for 30 yrs. but that just doesn’t help in this day-and-age.

Annnnnd it’s Friday Eve! Hurray.

Have a thankful Thursday.

Wednesday – Well, have an appointment w/the attorney on Friday. HOPING it is nearing an end. Have to sign papers, is that a good sign! AND bring the estate check book. OK, have to be getting closer.

Have a good Wednesday.

OH, Jas is working from home today! A car crashed into a chemical plant and the plant and car caught on fire. Unbelievable NOBODY was injured or killed! Anyhow, though, they had to close the freeway down there and NO inkling when it would be opened, because they had to get the fire contained (which it wasn’t as of 6 am) and get the Hazmat team there for clean up. OY.

Just for fun, today, the dryer stopped working. **SIGH** So having a repair tech out tomorrow. BUT not sure there’s much that can be done w/it as it’s 11 yrs. old. We shall see.

Darlene: Glad you could get to pickleball.

Beautiful day here. I’ll take it – in the 70’s, sunny, nice breeze. UNUSUAL for this time of the year for sure.

Hugs

I think the results here take more than a month. I think the radiologist is at the hospital, though.

I got to pickleball this morning. After sleeping on the bed all night my feet were down in size enough that the shoes fit. Not so much this evening. The right one is okay, but I can feel my left one is hitting the top of my Crocs which are mostly pretty loose. They came in small, medium and large. The small were too small, the medium too big.

Today was fairly nice. Not as hot as it has been most days. Wish it would stay like that.

Tuesday – Well, had the mammogram. Disappointed. They no longer have a radiologist in-hospital to do the reads, so it is sent out. Lord! You get your “official letter of results” within 7-10 working days, that means for me, 2 weeks from yesterday! Lord have mercy.

Cooler and less humid! Yes!

Here’s to a terrific Tuesday.

Darlene: Glad you’ve been doing pickleball && cardio dance. Nice. BUT sorry to hear that your feet swelling stopped you from going this week.

It’s been a hot and humid summer here, too.

Well, I kind of lost this forum. I've been doing my pickleball twice a week and have tried a new cardio dance class. I can't really follow the dance class too well, though. I didn't go this week because I couldn't get my shoes on. My feet are really swollen.

I did get out to the county fair yesterday with a friend of mine. He was cueing the round dances at the square dance booth and got me a free ticket to the fair, so I wandered around for the time he was there. It really has gone downhill for the short of time they have had it there (maybe 4 years?). I want to go to another fair, but I don't know if I can afford to. They have a lot more going on there. Last year or the year before one of my friends in the dog world had her dog entered in dock diving there. I don't know if anyone I know will be in it this year. I have wanted to go there for a few years, but couldn't. Last year would have cost something like $20-25 dollars to go, but this year if you get your ticket early it is $10 for admission and $5 for parking (probably out in the boonies).

We've had a pretty hot summer and dry. We had actual rain I think one day before yesterday. Yesterday it rained, but today the ground is dry again. I haven't planted anything except some Anaheim peppers. I need to get rid of some weeds that I think have been dying from the dry weather and plant some hen and chicks that my friend brought me. They didn't want any of them. Have to get them planted soon because they are turning yellow.

Hope everyone is doing well.

Sunday – Had a lovely breakfast yesterday w/Jason. Then furniture shopping (for a kitchen table) Found nothing. So many of the sets we saw were more what I would picture in a dining room. But will just keep looking. I know we’ll find something eventually.

Rained in the morning then just overcast. More rain expected today and overnight.

Hope y’all have a blessed Sunday.

Saturday – Early walk then went to breakfast. Felt nice!

The kids stopped by last evening and it was nice. Rylund was full of energy! He says he doesn’t want to go to school (he starts kindergarten on 04 September.) I think he’ll like it once he’s there.

Storms last night. We were lucky. Rain and wind, but the worst was north.

HUGS and here’s to a great Saturday.

Friday - Yikes! Heat and humidity again. Supposed to have a chance of rain daily. Did have some rain yesterday, but not a lot. Just added to the humidity. The latest forecast is predicting up to 2 in. of rain overnight in some places. Hope it doesn’t come all @ once, but we can use the rain.

Jason works from home today, so bonus points. Glad of it.

This will hopefully be a low-key day. Looks like it will be so far!

Have a fantastic Friday! TGIF. Even if it IS Friday the 13th.

Thursday – It was nice that Jas was working from home yesterday. He even snuck a little nap in. He needed it.

Today is going to be beastly humid, then I think storms are supposed to roll through in the evening to cool things down a LITTLE. We’ll see what happens.

Ready for Friday EVE!

Wednesday – Hot and humid yesterday, continuing today. Summer . . . it’s here.

Went to my grief group yesterday and it was really good. I am glad I went. I hesitated as I had stuff to do and was tired, but went. Good choice.

It is nice having Jason home. He is one tired hombre, but he’ll get a little rest today. Not a busy work day and he’s working from home.

Otherwise, I want to take it easy a bit as well. Didn’t sleep well.

Here’s to WEDNESDAY!!!

Tuesday – Jason arrived in NY safely. Lots of meetings. He will get home very late tonight, so I know he’ll be tired! At least he can work from home on Wednesday.

Hot and humid. Took me by surprise. Yesterday morning I walked in the morning and it was cool and no humidity. By 9 am it was already reaching 80 and the humidity was climbing.

A hallelujah moment. Just saw on the news that all of the soccer team has now been rescued from the cave!

Monday – What an awesome day! I had a good time with the kids! Rylund is so sweet and he said to me, “It seems like forever since I’ve seen you!” Awwww, ok, melt my heart, why don’t you! I just reminded him that he can always call anytime. He had me write down the phone # so he has it (even though he’s called me multiple time.)

Jas left @ am to NY. UGH. I will be glad when he’s back home. It is still so weird to me w/o Mr. Spot. **SIGH**

Here’s to Monday, let’s make it a good one

Sunday – Went out for breakfast yesterday morning and it was wonderful. Really enjoy that.

Went furniture shopping. Didn’t buy anything, but looking for a futon, front room couch/chairs/tables and a kitchen table/chairs. I’d rather pull my fingernails out, but especially the front room furniture is aging. We gave the kids the beds from the spare room, so hence the futon.

Ok, going thru withdrawal, so going to see the kids later this morning. Wahoo! Rylund is going to be starting school in the fall, so going to pop over to Walmart near them and get him some back-to-school clothes. Planning on getting his chool list (schools always have a list of supplies they need now-a-days) and putting those in a spankin’ new backpack. What fun! Grandma time. Can you see the glow??????

Jason leaves for NY tomorrow morning, so getting the laundry done to get him packed and ready. Boooooo!

So, wishing you blessings on your Sunday.

Thursday – Nice Fourth. Hot and humid, but didn’t spend a lot of time outdoors. Watched the fireworks on TV. That was good enough for me for sure. Beats the crowds, heat, humidity and mosquitoes!

Tuesday – Well, it has cooled off a little bit. At least the humidity has gone down.

I am so excited! An old friend of mine called out of the blue. We talk on the phone during the holidays, but she surprised me. She will be coming for a visit next month! I have known her for about 30 yrs. Looking forward to that.

Jas has to go out of town on Monday (Booooo!) but won’t be a long trip. Thank goodness for that.

We are going to have another scorcher today, but just the upper 90s they say. Then cooler tomorrow and Sunday and back to the 90s the rest of next week. They are cancelling fireworks shows all over. I am going to try to water the lawn maybe the 2nd and 4th and maybe even hose the roof since people shoot off the fireworks here even though it is illegal. We aren't even allowed glow worms. Of course, I have planned to do that watering for several years and always forgot.

I will see what groceries I can get today or tomorrow so I can get the bigger discount on gas. Yesterday I put in $25 and it only was 1/4 tank. Well, I've got enough now to get to church and home and maybe to the store and gym.

They do say that there is a pretty good chance of rain Saturday night. Of course, they change the forecast daily.

HOT HOT HOT, so drinking my water. Remember to do the same!

The last couple of days have been super hot here. Yesterday was 101 and today 105. I stayed in yesterday. I wish I had A/C here. Mom once said to get it, then decided not to all of a sudden, so we never did. The A/C in the truck went out several years ago and I can't get that fixed either. It's one thing that Danny can't do.

I need to get some weed killed next to the garage so I can plant some hen and chicks, but even with all that heat it was breezy and it says not to use in any wind. It is some kind that you put on the leaves of what you want to kill and it is supposed to go systemically through to the roots to kill the weed, but not spread to the plants you don't want to kill. Hope that is right.

Today I got out for pickleball, then went to look for a book a friend wants (didn't find it so I have to call around), got a little gas to last until next week, and a few groceries and came home and fell asleep for a while. I now have 2 fans going in the bedroom and I'm thinking I need to do that in the living room. It's supposed to cool down tomorrow (to 95) and then quite a bit cooler for the next few days.

Thursday – Wow! Time has flown by this week. Yesterday was pretty quiet. I’m liking that for now. LOL Taking some getting used to. Learning to cook for 3 vs. 6 again. Still getting the hang of it. Until then, LEFTOVERS.

The sun popped out finally yesterday around 2 pm. Nice. Tomorrow it is going to warm up into the hellish category (bad because also ratcheting up the humidity). Thank goodness for a/c. Will definitely be getting out early for my walks.

Have a wonderful Thursday.

Wednesday – Got rain last night. The whole day was cloudy and gray, but we didn’t get rain till the afternoon. Funnel clods to the north of us, but we were all right. Thankfully!

Feel like I’m finally decompressing! Good feeling.

Here’s to Wednesday! Make it wonderful.

We had 50s and 60s today. I guess it got around 67 since at 7:00 it was 64. At 2:00 it was 54. I got caught in a downpour after stopping at Walmart to do some shopping. No rain as I left the store, but before I got halfway to my truck it was coming down in buckets. They had forecast that for the next week, but now they have said hot, hot, hotter. As far as I can tell we didn't get any rain here at my house.

Had a few chores to do, but mostly just relaxed. Talked w/my little sister a few times, and she’s doing all right.

Yes, Mom and Dad both died in 2017 w/in 2 mths. of each other. VERY hard. But to loose a spouse .. . . that would be unfathomable.

Glad you got some hen and chicks. Those are lovely plantings.

Hope the weather cooperates so you can get your cleaning job done.

I am glad that your sister has a lot of support. I had problems with losing my parents; can't imagine losing your life's partner.

It is hot here again today, but a lot was done. Mark cut up the big branches from the trees and also cut out some dead wood on the side where the wild plum trees are growing in the middle of the grape vine. I can't even see where the grape vine was. I sent him home with some spare ribs and fruit salad. He also brought me some hen and chicks that I need to put on the side of the garage. That is where Mom had them, so I guess they will be okay there. The house they bought a few years ago has hen and chicks all across the front next to the walk.

I got some more of the leaves off the patio. I wish I could do more at a time. If it stays dry for a while I can get the entire patio done in a few more days, but I think it is going to rain again tomorrow or the next few days. Once I get them all picked up I'll get the power washer back and clean off the patio with it. Or at least one of those nozzles that puts out a hard spray.

Saturday – Oh lord. It rained and poured most of the day. BUT fortunately everything went well. The celebration of life was beautiful. Glad we were there to help sis thru this. She has lots of support, so that made me feel better. So sad to say good bye, but Richie is no longer suffering. He’s been thru enough this last 2 yrs.

Tired.

Karlee and John (and Rylund) moved into their new place! They are very excited. It is going to be quiet today, but I am not going to complain about that. Besides, I have a hunch they’ll be over for a home cooked meal!

Ok, have to relax.

HUGS

We had a great day for a picnic yesterday. The bowl of fruit salad I took was almost half eaten, but I did still have another one there and one at home, plus half a cantaloupe, four large slices of watermelon and a bag and a half of grapes. Took quite a bit next door. They remembered they are leaving in a few days, so might not get it all eaten. So I told her give it to the people across the street if they want some. I am eating the grapes (not good, I'm sure) and will probably eat some of the mix, but not much.

I hope you have a safe trip. Sorry for the reason. You and your sister have my sympathy.

Thursday – Yesterday was an uneventful commute home, thank goodness! We were both grateful for that.

The sun finally popped out yesterday about 4 pm. Warmed things up a little, but the main thing -- no rain or storms.

Won’t be on much. On the way to IL.

Hugs

Darlene: Hope that your fruit salad gets eaten, too. I love it, but for me, melons and I are @ odds!

We had calmer weather today and tomorrow is supposed to be nice. That will really be nice since the picnic is tomorrow. We were worried it would rain.

I got my fruit salad made and in the fridge. I hope a lot of people eat it, because it isn't something I can eat much of. I still have part of the watermelon and half a cantaloupe left, plus a bag of grapes. I couldn't fit anymore in the bowl and I am using the largest of the Tupperware nesting bowls. I am afraid to eat anything at the picnic, though. Every time I eat anything at all I have to run to the bathroom and I don't know about being able to do anything there.

Wednesday – Rained off and on most of the day yesterday. At least it’s not snow!

Jason was 1.5 hrs. late getting home as there was a car carrier that caught fire with 3 or 5 cars it was carrying. What a mess! The fire dept. used foam to put out the fire. That was all over the roadway. The cars had to be lifted by crane off the car carrier. They were totally burned out. What a mess. I am glad he wasn’t close to that accident. By the time he got to the scene they already had the cars off the truck.

Mid-week already. Wow.

Here’s to a wonderful Wednesday.

Darlene: Yes, they are excited to have their own place.

Thankfully today is much calmer weather-wise!

We've been having storms, too. Today I was listening to the rain when it seemed to be hitting harder -- hail. That lasted a few minutes, and the rain continued. Then it seemed to be sunny and a while later we had a downpour. That one started out with a roar and I couldn't figure out what was going on.

That is wonderful that John and Karlee found an apartment.

Tuesday – Very stormy day yesterday. Jason was on his way home from work and had to pull over to wait it out. Got home about an hour late. I was worried about him! BUT he got home safely.

John and Karlee found an apartment. Hallelujah for them. Will be helping them move in on Saturday. I expect Sunday is going to be a total day of rest as we’ll have been to IL to be w/my sis for the funeral.

Darlene: Well, glad you got the garbage disposal working right.

We had a high of 81 today, which was nice. I have been washing dishes today and cleaning the stove off some. The dishes had gotten backed up. My sink is always backing up, so I don't often get them done too easily. Today the garbage disposal quit on me when I tried to get the sink to drain. My friend told me about a reset button and that got it working again. I have just a few dishes left after the water warms up again.

I have also been reading one of the mysteries that I got from the library. It's fun for me to read this one, because it is set in the Colorado mountains. I have figured out that their "Furman County" is Jefferson county. I don't think that jail facility is as tall as in the book, though. I keep trying to figure out what towns they could be talking about. They have some of the actual towns, then have the fictional names for some.

Otherwise I haven't done much. Reading takes too much time.

Monday – Back from IL. Sis is doing pretty well. So busy, really hasn’t had time to stop and think. I remember that feeling as well.

Anyhow, onto a work day routine.

HUGS and have a motivated Monday.

Darlene: Glad that you are cooling off a bit.

We got quite a bit cooler today. This afternoon we had a downpour for a minute or two, then it continued to rain for a while. Not sure how long that lasted. I thought we were going to have a lot of thunder, but that moved off after only a couple of them.

It was a little cooler today and rained where I was picking up my glasses today. That increased the humidity a bit so it was muggy when I left there. We have chance of rain all week this week, with the highest chance on Thursday last I looked. Of course that's when our potluck picnic is.

I picked up melons and grapes for the potluck. I hope that will be okay. Hope they will be okay by then, too.

Sorry about your B-I-L.

Today started off cool, so I took Cassie for a walk/run around the block. I am trying to get the run where I am more upright so I don't fall over when I am playing pickleball. Almost fell on my face yesterday.

After I met my friend at VI for free pie Wednesday. I had checked online for the lowest carb pie that I like. When I got there, though, my friend was hungry so we also had lunch. I didn't eat much of mine, but my upset stomach still came back. Guess I won't be going to the store to get the couple things that I wanted. Just as well. I don't really need them.

It is back in the 90s today.

Wednesday – Well, I am glad I went to my group yesterday. Helped me.

What started out as a cloudy, ugly-ish day turned sunny. Not bad! We’ll see what today brings.

OH, getting delivery of our new fridge today, so have to empty the fridge/freezer. Have purposely not been stocking it, so it shouldn’t be too bad.

Just got a call from my little sis. My BIL passed away @ 3:03 am today. She doesn’t want me to go down there till Thursday next week, so that’s what I’ll do. Meanwhile helping her w/some phone calls. Can’t believe this.

Darlene: Glad you got to see Fancy!

Good luck w/the potluck.

It cooled off some the last couple days. Tomorrow is supposed to go back to the 90s until Saturday. Yesterday I went to see Fancy and I trimmed her up as best I could with scissors. She stayed pretty still for me to get that done other than bobbing her head when I was trying to trim on her neck. That was a bit nerve-wracking. Jack also stayed really close, first blowing on my head and then turning his rear toward me. I finally took the rubber curry over and asked if he wanted groomed, too. Apparently that was it. I don't think his owner has been out at all and he wanted some attention, too. Normally they will both walk off when I am trying to groom Fancy.

Next week the group from pickleball is having a potluck at one couple's place. I have been trying to decide what I can take and from looking at ads today I am thinking that I will take a fruit bowl. That might cost a lot too, but maybe not as much as scones and devonshire cream or jam on top. We'll see come time to buy that stuff. Part I will have to buy on the weekend so I can get my fuel points, other I can get up to Wednesday. I'll probably check the list to see what others have said they will bring.

Nothing else going on here. Have a good Wednesday.

Tuesday – Started out a sunny, beautiful day, but got cloudy and overcast in the afternoon. **SIGH** But at least no rain @ that time. Looks like there will be rain on and off the rest of the week.

Today is 10 months since Dad passed away. Just doesn’t seem possible. I miss him.

Here’s to a terrific Tuesday.

Monday – Rainy, dreary day yesterday. But plenty to do to keep busy, that’s for sure!

Watched the Jersey Boys movie on TV. Interesting! Loved their music, never knew any background information.

Back to work and the work week routine. Had to happen sometime, right!

Stay motivated. HUGS

It was 88 when I left for church this morning and 92 at 4:00. At 7:30 it was still 90. What happened to Denver weather that cooled off when evening came?

After church I was going to go to Bark-In-The-Park, but when I got there there wasn't anyone there. I just wanted to see my friends and their dogs. I ended up coming home and sitting in front of the fan again. Then went shopping since they have double gas points on weekends. I had a bit of trouble finding things. They had Smuckers Jam on the buy 5 sale and I couldn't find that. When I went back through I found out it was the really large size. That ought to last a while unless I use it for topping for scones at our potluck in a couple weeks (not sure what I am going to make). The ribs that were on sale I couldn't find. Well, it turns out I did find them, but I didn't think they were that big of ribs. They aren't the short baby back ribs at all. I found out that when I went to another store looking for them. I guess I just went too late in the weekend.

I wish we'd get a little rain around here. Maybe that would cool things off a bit. So far they have said 20% chance this week. The mountains need rain, too, to help put out those fires.

Hope all had a good day.

Sunday: Started out w/some sun, but then got cloudy and foggy. No rain overnight, but it is raining this morning, in fact a thunderstorm. Ah well. Looks like indoor fun today.

Enjoy Sunday! Blessings.

Darlene: Hope your vacuuming the dryer helped. I do that as well.

Not really cooler today. It was supposed to be around 95 and I do think it got there.

I vacuumed what I could get to of the dryer. I hope that is all it needed. I did a load of laundry and things seemed to be okay, but I didn't run the dryer as long as normal. I ran it for a while, let it cool down, then ran it again. Haven't done much else except read. It's too hot to do anything.
