I've been keeping my carbs at 40 and below for the last several months. My total carbs for the day was 67, which threw me into a panic, not necessarily for the carb amount it self but thinking it would cause me to need to take a shot. I haven't increased my carbs, at all and am only just recently shot free from my time shot. The meal time shots i came off about two months ago. I just chalked it up to experience, went out and took my 30 minute walk and was not going to let the experience ruin a good day. My calories were under only 900 and my carbs were over. But my sugar numbers were good 102 before bed and 103 this morning for fasting. Not that this is an invitation to increase my carbs, I'm just glad it didn't jump up on me..

Thanks for the response. I agree with you, we just need to plan the best we can. I would like to figure out some good meals to eat out.

Dining out is really hard ... but, my theory is, just order as healthy as you can. Try not to go over your calorie /carb count for the day, but, if you go over, just eat smarter and lighter the next day.

And really 39 carbs for a big restaurant meal is not that bad. How was your total carb count for the day?

I aim to eat lighter, the rest of the day, if I plan to go out for dinner. I sort of try to budget my carb/calories.
That being said ~ my eating this weekend with 4 meals out, and a Party Saturday from 3:00pm to 9:00pm-ish ~ well, needless to say, I am way off track.

Just aim for more smart eating days, than bad ones. emoticon

If it's to be, It's up to ME!

I went to for a mother's day dinner. I was really responsible with it. I planned my meals light, through out the day, so that my dinner would be free for the balance of my calories. We chose an early dinner time about 4:30 so I could still walk about dinner, and boy will I need it tonight.
I don't want to be one of those people, that becomes obsessed. I'm sure there might be times one day, when I want to dive into some deep friend delious something. If that day comes I want to do it and enjoy it and not feel guilty about it. But that time is not now, and I feel a little ripped off. I just didn't think it added up to that amount. It was a wonderful day, and it is what it is. I just want my choices to be informed. T

My dinner had 39 carbs, was it some deep fried, breaded dish. Nope.

It was Petite Chicken Fresco with butter and balsamic vinegar
