I did try some very good CBD oil a couple years ago. It was supposed to be the best- per my alternative doctor but it didn’t seem to help me much after about three months. So I quit. Very expensive too. Glad it helps some people.
I had head cold symptoms for a few days but it didn’t develop into anything bad.
Several folks I know nearby have had the flu, even tho they had this years flu shot.
Our daughter is recovering well from her appendectomy this past Tuesday night. Thanks for asking.
Hope you all have a great rest of the weekend.

Gd morning - grey and rain again here. Still grateful for the end of the drought.

Cynthia, my decluttering is creeping veryyyyyy slowly right now - I've made a lot of progress in the garage, but we've had a cold stretch that's kept me out of there. Mostly I'm getting closer and closer to the projects that I've avoided the most, and I'm going slower and slower. I'm such a kid. And your memory is better than you think about my prayer meetings as all of the above are yes... right now I meet with one woman once a month, my accountability partner every week, and I have a prayer group at my home that meets once a week.

My mom's carehome is closing so I'm in the midst of arranging for a new home for her and will be leaving Tuesday for Arizona. Very stressful. But thank God her hospice is on it and I think we've got a good situation for her lined up. Just hard to move her at this point in her life. Thanks for your prayers, sisters!

gentle hugs, Kathy

Hi sisters! emoticon

My y'all have been busy chatting! For that I am very happy!

Hope you are having a lovely Friday. Do you have any plans for the weekend?

Karen in Ohio~ I have heard mixed reviews from friends on CBD oil. I don't think I am able to use it because of some of my medications...although I would have to ask my Dr to be sure. I'm glad you found one that is helpful.

Karen in Florida~ How is your daughter doing? I hope she is recovering well from the surgery. Don't get me started on Health care system.. !! Lol My brother once was released at 4 in the morning for something that should have kept him hospitalized for a few days. It would've been for inpatient hospitalization for his bipolar. Are you over your cold now?

Kathy~ What wonderful news that more research has been done and that there could be better help for us ladies! Yay! How is your decluttering coming along? I can understand not wanting to go back into full time ministry. Do you still meet with your friends for prayer? I'm thinking way back you did meet women for prayer on a monthly basis of was it weekly.Maybe I am wrong. My memory isn't always the best.

Dolphin~ Have you started your physical therapy yet? If so how is it going? Do check in to update when you are able.

Today I went to lunch with my dear friend from church. We went to a local Seafood restaurant. She had grilled chicken and I had fried baby shrimp plate with French fries. I gave her my coleslaw since I am not a fan of it. Lol. We had a really nice time. Afterwards, we went to Wal-Mart Marketplace to do a little shopping and then back to her house to watch TV.

Tonight my elbows and hands are really bothering me. Might be from too much time on this tablet. Although even before I got this, these have almost always given me trouble since Fibro came to my doorstep. Hopefully my neck, back and shoulders won't join later.

I have my diffuser going with Lavender essential oil. It's quite nice. Helps me relax.

Have a great evening!
Gentle hugs and much love!

My oil is from ZILIS. Ultra cell full spectrum hemp cbd oil. I tried a cheaper oil that i got from amazon. It did not help me at all.

Glad your daughter got to go home & hope she is recovering well. KATHY ...that is great to know that progress is being made to hopefully help us. I have been taking the essential oil that my daughter got me. Almost 4 weeks now & although I am still taking my meds I don't have the pain reminding me it is time. I hope to get off of some of meds eventually

Kathy thanks for that scientific info. That’s good to know and I hope the scientists really find out what’s best for us gals.
Hope everyone is doing well- low pain today.
I’m feeling okay. Just so tired. Was up very late last night with concerns over my daughter who lives 8 hours away. She went to the ER with nausea and right side pain and had laparoscopic surgery to remove appendix 6 hours later. They discharged her at midnight. Got to love our health care system

Amen!

Hey news from Science magazine - latest research showing that chronic pain operates differently in men and women..... "In men who did have neuropathic pain, macrophagescells of the immune systemwere most active. In women, neuropeptides, which are protein-like substances released by neurons, were prominent." Medications are generally developed and tested on male lab animals, including pain meds. So while they may be effective for men, they may be worthless for women. So much for the stereotypes that women are weak and just can't tolerate pain the way that men can! The exciting news is that researchers are starting to look at gender specific treatments for chronic pain, migraines, inflammation, etc. Always hope ahead.

Gentle hugs, Kathy

Good morning! Sunshine and spring - a friend in Reno sent a picture of some irises that have popped out even up in the mountains and snow. So beautiful.

Dolphingal, I join with the sisters to assure you that your PT is probably waiting for the internet fad to pass too. He doesn't have the qualifications or licensed authority to diagnose fibro. Thank God he told you up front, rather than subject you to PT treatment that would be bad for you. So let that flat earther fall of the edge of the planet, and get on with your courageous pursuit of better life quality.

FL Karen, I have areas where pain tends to concentrate thanks to other conditions, and also roving pain. Some is tied to activity - I have a three day cycle. Exertion one day, and on the third day I'll have the pain and fatigue related to the exertion. Weird. But if I take every third day (well, Monday and Thursday, since we have a 7 day week...) and just make it a rest day routinely, that seems to work best for me. All of us are so unique.

Karen, I really don't know much about splenda. My struggle is with savories - take some salt, wrap it in fat, and I'm your champion. So I don't think much about making my own sweets. You know my Sees candy love affair - that's usually my big temptation. And honey, I love treats with that. And Cynthia knows, oh that Starbucks chai! Steamed eggnog! Have you used splenda much? What do you think of it?

Well, let's see....not much news here. I have a whole list of to do's, but somehow I just don't get to some of the chores... There's a parttime ministry position available to my church, and a few people have asked if I'm going to apply - I just look at them crosseyed. It was hard when I had to retire young because of health. But oooh, I have adjusted! Not that I wouldn't trade back if God miraculously healed me, but the luxury of moving at my own pace is priceless. (And now that I've just turned 67, I'm officially retirement age. Also into that battle with health professionals wanting to write everything off as well dear, you are getting older.... Long lived, thank you very much.)

gentle hugs, Kathy

Dolophingal that’s so terrible for a PT therapist to treat you like that. That person should be fired. I do hope you find a better therapist. Life with fibro can be difficult and you need to be surrounded by caring people. We are here for you.
emoticon
My pain levels have been better this last week. I seem to be mostly over the SI joint pain.
Do you all seem to have roving pain cycles? Meaning a few days you hurt worse in a certain area then it may move to another area? That’s what seems to happen to me a lot.
I felt like I was coming down with a head cold the last couple days, but now better. I don’t know if I told you all that I also have Chronic Immunodeficiency. That means my body doesn’t make the Igs necessary to fight off all germs and I can get sick a lot. I’ve been doing better this last couple years because I do infusions of Igs every two weeks. Not fun but it does help me.
Hope you all have a great week

Hi sweet sisters! emoticon

Happy St Patrick's day to all! emoticon emoticon

Dolphingal ~ On I am so sorry that you had to endure such a terrible time with the PT. Boy that makes my blood boil that even now with all the information available and the U.S. Government finally recognizing Fibro as a REAL disease that some Drs, and health professionals still pass judgement and fail to acknowledge the facts. It happens way to often unfortunately. I am pleased though that your rhuemy understands. I'm also glad that you are working with a different PT. I do wish you lived where I do. We have PT office that offers PT designed for treating fibro. It involves pool therapy and then regular PT. My heart goes out to you and I Will be praying that the hydrotherapy gives you the much needed relief that you need. Gentle Hugs

Kathy~ Well done in keeping on your plan! Exercise is not my strong point. Now that Spring has come to SC I can be walking more. Now just to do it! Lol. I had been planning to join the fitness center that is within our hospital system, but ended up putting it off. We can do it!!

Karen in Ohio did you enjoy your supper out with your daughter the other night? Has spring come to Ohio yet or is it still cold as ever? Hope the Ultram is helping with the pain. Is the hemp oil working any? Do let us know!

Karen in Florida~ I hope you've found some relief. Pain and fatigue are so hard to deal with. How are things going with you?

How is everyone doing?

It's a gorgeous sunny day. I went to Wal-Mart Marketplace with a friend and did some grocery shopping. I was pretty much out of everything that I eat for breakfast.

Yesterday my same friend and I went to Starbucks for iced coffee. We had a nice time. Then we went to the pharmacy so I could pick up some prescriptions. It seems I am always going to the pharmacy. Lol!

Have a good evening!
Much love and Gentle hugs

Uggg!

So went for my "evaluation" at the PT place. Rheumi ordered HydroTherapy. Therapist takes me back for "eval" tells me essentially he doesn't believe in Fibro, theres nothing wrong with me, and he refused and "will not" treat Fibro.. however, he says, some (he like rolls his eyes here and speaks with attitude) *some* therapists believe that warm water hydro therapy does X (which he says like two sentances from the internet). Then he says with firm authority "But I DON'T!"

This is after i explained to him i was just diagnosed and went through alot to get there. And he's like NO, maybe your just OLD, maybe the pain is from a different disease, i say well blood tests say______, and he says tests can be wrong. SERIOUSLY!?! he is over and over telling me i am wrong and he is right, my dr is wrong, my life is wrong, my feelings are wrong, my prescription is wrong, my life is wrong etc etc etc. Went home ready to bawl my head off. emoticon Scheduled the actual PT sessions, which will be with another PT.

Sunny here too - spring popping up all over. So beautiful. Pain levels popped too, not quite so beautiful. Seems that when allergies trigger, so does pain. Anyone else have that effect?

I'm coming up on the third year anniversary of my sparkpeople weight loss plan - and that was supposed to be the goal date. But....not close. Still, let's stop and hey, almost reached three years on the plan! I've stayed on the plan except 2 ways - and here's the big except, for the exercise part. And the other except is for the feast days I give myself through the year, on the big holidays. But....I am steadily losing weight, very slowly, and eating a healthier diet. Small changes but steady. Tthe true goal is changing my relationship with food altogether. I won't really know how that's going until I step away from the plan discipline, but I have noticed that my feast day choices have changed. So, God is at work. I tell you sisters, I do feel a flagging in commitment to the plan right now. I had three years in my head, and now I'm thinking it's 6 years. Praying for the ignition of purpose for another 3 year lap! Fibro is a funny sort of motivator - if I eat too much sugar or chemical additives or refined flour my pain and fatigue can kick way up. Not worth it. God does provide LOL.

Karen, I take tramadol too, and this winter I've used a wee bit more than previous years. The cold for me, I think.

Cynthia, whoo hoo on the chairs! That's a great find.

Everyone, pray each of us has spring joy abounding and a renewal of spirit - low pain, energy, and always hopeful expectation of blessing.

gentle hugs, Kathy

I kinda remember that song. I bet I'd know if I heard it. It's sunny here today too. Karen Glad you had a nice dinner with your daughter!

I just bought 4 dining room chairs from the Let it go app. They are like brand new . I love them and am so excited to have found them at such a great price. I've been looking for chairs for a long time. The gal I bought them from was very nice.

Tonight I am doing my sparking and will read later.

I tried to cut out my tramadol last week but pain was too high so I am back on it. I am taking 2 less pills then last year. One less tramadol & 1 less amitriptyline. Yesterday was a good day. I ran some errands & out for supper with my daughter. Might just stay in today. The sun is shining so going to open my front door & LET THE SUN SHINE IN. Remember that old sing?

I am enjoying my Jesus Always devotional. I also have Jesus Calling. Karen, my friend has Jesus Today and I read it A lot while staying her house when the renovation was being done in my apartment.

How is everyone doing?
I hope y'all are finding some enjoyment this weekend. Yesterday evening I went to my friend's house for veggie pizza and movies. We watched War Room. It's excellent! I'd seen it before at church, but it's so good I loved seeing it again? Have any of you seen it? If you haven't, you're in for a treat should you decide to watch it!

Today I slept in super late. I went to bed quite late though. A good friend of mine stopped by just a little bit ago. It was a nice having company.

I plan on reading in a little while.

Hope you have a peaceful evening.

Much love

Yes, it does get that cold in the panhandle of FL. We are essentially lower Alabama weather-wise. We get a few days here and there of 30’s most winters.

Hi sweet sisters!

Nice to see so many chatting! Welcome New members!

It's been quite chilly at night here. 20s. Highs in 40s and low 50s which seems like summer to those of you up north. This weekend back to Spring temps but more rain! I've been thrilled with so much sunshine this week.

Kathy~ I remember reading that due to government regulations you had to change the valium to something else. Bless your soul. My prayers go out to you. I think you ought to call your doctor and let him or her know this new medicine is just causing too much troublesome side effects.

How is everyone doing?

I noticed new faces in our February chat. I'm glad you joined in and I hope you will check back in soon with us.

Things here have been better depression wise. Still going through medication changes with the most recent starting today.

Yesterday a friend and I went to a used bookstore here in town. It was a lot of fun. I found 4 Amish fiction books (I really enjoy this genre...one of my faves). I also found a very nice devotional book. It's by the same author as Jesus calling.

Today I went out to Chinese lunch with a few women from church. Good food and great fellowship. I'm so glad I was able to go. Afterwards, on my way home I stopped at Starbucks for my freebie, a caramel macchiato this time. It was yummy.

Tonight my hands are giving me trouble...pain in them, also my elbows, shoulder blades. I took some Mobic, but can't feel it helping any. I think it's the cold weather...that and rain coming tomorrow.

Have a great evening. I think I am going to curl up with my new book. That or Netflix.
Gentle hugs

Good morning everyone. Rain, rain and more rain - still grateful - and damp. We're officially out of the drought now, so whooo hoo!

Well, I've tried the new med that's supposed to replace valium twice now, at half dose. Both times, I've woken up with double vision, tremendous pain in my legs, headache, and my lips twitching. Not sure this is a good offset to restless legs and migraines... Sigh. It's so hard to find things that actually work with fibro.

My poor geriatric cat's favorite food has been discontinued. Since she's toothless, I have limited choices for her. So I got some fancy stuff - and she's been talking to me about it all morning. Her Iams, my Valium - just two cranky old ladies!

gentle hugs, Kathy
