I am not sure a weighted blanket would work for me. I am not comfortable with heavy things on my body.

When I feel like getting out & moving my body, it does sometimes seem to help me. Then there are days when I get up & then go back to bed. It is hard to understand fibro & most people have not got a clue.

I share your frustration with being told to exercise. Exercise helps long term, but not on days when you can barely get out of bed. People who do not have chronic pain do not understand. I haven't tried a weighted blanket. I often feel like my covers feel too heavy on me ....as though the comforter weighs a ton. Maybe I am not really understanding what a weighted blanket feels like.

I was really mad when she couldn’t get me in until November. I hurt so bad and I have a 5 year old to look after. If I hurt really bad I soak in this epson mix for ache muscles and that helps. I also surround myself with my weight blanket.
I had called awhile ago to ask for help and she said to exercise. I’m lucky if I can make it out of bed. I don’t think she understands. It’s frustrating.

Kelli~ Doctor's baffle me. I am sorry he or she is unwilling to try something else. I understand that doctors want to pass the buck, because they don't understand our illness, but they leave us in limbo.

Have you tried anything over the counter like Salonpas Lidocaine gel patches, or biofreeze? Sometimes these help.

I use a heating pad a lot. I love a good hot bath too.

My doctor refuses to put me on any more meds since what she did put me on didn't work. I see a specialist in November and there is no cancellation list. I had lost my baby weight before I started Lyrica and now I have gained 28 lbs so I know its that because I haven't changed anything else.

Kelly.. I have never been on Lyrica. I take Gabapentin. One dr put me up to 2700 mg & I was gaining lots of weight. I am now down to 1200mg. I also have to take tramadol. I try to just take it once a day but I still need something for the pain so take OTC pill instead of second dose of tramadol.

It really is hard to know what helps with fibro pain. I use CBD cream/salve for my leg pain. I never thought i would say this but I may try MJ when it is set up in my state.

I know it has been a difficult few months for you so maybe that is what is making you have more fibro pain. I also take a small dose of elavil. Have you have ever looked on Web MD to read the reviews about the various meds?

Keeping you in my prayers

Hi Kelli.

Gentle emoticon

I am so sorry that the Lyrics isn't helping you anymore. I can only Imagine the frustration , not to mention being in so much pain. I am fortunate that Lyrica has helped me at a very low dose. Side effects of medications can be scary. I will be praying that the side effects you are experiencing will subside and that you are able to get relief from the pain.

Have you tried Gabipenten? I know some people have found relief from it. It did not work for me very well, but everyone is different. I hate that the Dr's office doesn't have a cancellation list.

Weight gain is one major issue I have had since my fibro diagnosis. For myself, it's been mainly due to my inactivity. I became so scared of feeling worse by exercising that I have up. It's been hard for me to figure out balance. It seems like what I can tolerate one day, puts me in bed another day. Very frustrating. I imagine you can relate. I was given physical therapy and it helped me some. I did some pool therapy.

My heart goes out to you and I am praying for you. You are not alone. Hang in there one moment at a time.

Hugs and blessings,
Cynthia

I was diagnosed with fibro a couple of months ago and my doctor put me on Lyrica and I got better but then it wore off and the same thing has happened plus lots of weight gain and I'm taking the maximum dose of Lyrica. I actually think I did better before I was on Lyrica and then I got on there website and read the side effects! I have an appointment with my doctor this morning. I am seeing a specialist in November and they do no have a cancellation list. The other doctors in my area won't see me until February.

When I had fibro and wasn't diagnosed I was able to lose over 30 lbs and I am trying to do the same thing and not losing any weight. I feel like I am really experiencing the side effects of Lyrica.

Any positive comments would be greatly appreciated.
