Hi Team!!

So what is OMAT and why are we talking about it?

That really explains it all and was written in the midst of my early OMAT successes. Just let us know if you have any questions along the way. Remember, this is YOUR own personal goal that you want to reach and the new habit you want to create. Here's how to get started:

Pick ONE habit or ONE thing you've been wanting to work on or change. It doesn't matter what it is as long is it is REACHABLE AND REASONABLE.

Here are some ideas:
- not a drop of pop/soda all day every day for an entire month
- track all your food every day for an entire month (whether you go over your range or not)
- track all your water every day for an entire month (whether you reach 8 glasses or not)
- eat at least 3 servings of fruits or veggies every day for an entire month
- log in to Spark People every day for an entire month
- track 2000 steps every day for an entire month

Why one month?? Well, common wisdom says that it takes about 3 weeks to form a new habit - a good one or a bad one. Well, now research is saying that there is a whole range of time frames since everyone is so very different. All I know is that we have to start somewhere. One month is long enough to get over the really hard part of it but not too long to be completely overwhelming. Sometimes it's hard in the beginning of the month but I promise it gets easier! Towards the end of each month, start thinking about next month's OMAT goal - reasonable and reachable. You CAN do this and we'll help cheer you on!!

p.s. HERE is a list of what I have changed since I started living and improving my life with OMAT:
1. I have completely removed pop/soda (diet and regular) from my life.
2. I have tracked all my food every day since October 1 2013.
3. I lost 14 pounds (and counting) between October 1 2013 and March 1 2014.
4. I eat more veggies and fruit.
5. I eat less sugar.
6. I have created the HABIT of eating within my calorie range almost every day.
7. I have created the habit of balancing my calories (if I eat too much one day, then I eat less the next day).
8. I'm still moving forward!! :-)
