Good Morning everyone! I'm home!

Pat I sent you a FB friend request. I saw you had posted on one of Callie's Western Belle pictures. Callie I loved that picture and I agree us being in both places makes it easier to share pictures. Here I have to upload them one at a time, very time consuming.

Reading about all this mowing makes me glad I have a lawn service! Then again, my lot is only 100 x 150 feet. Callie I have an electric snow blower for probably the same reason you want an electric mower. Those gas ones are not easy to start for me.

Mari all the best to R for his naturopath visit. Your organization and getting the info there early was a great idea! Shell, Jo , Sheila hope you are all having good days.

Got home around 12:30 in the afternoon yesterday. 825 miles round trip including the driving I did while we were there. I wasn't used to driving on the hills, and PA has a LOT of those. I learned to push a button on the side of my gear shift for the automatic transmission to down shift on some of them which saved on wearing out the brakes. I also learned to hone my curb parking skills which are not very good, at all.

Betty was surprised to see us. We stopped at the dollar store and got two "Happy Birthday" balloons as we were arriving two days after her Birthday. My niece went in her room first and said "You got a couple of Birthday Cards, wait I'll get them" and Barb and I walked in to see her. After the initial tears and hugs, the room was filled with laughter.

She is in good spirits and working hard in PT,OT and Speech therapy. We sat in on a few of her therapy sessions while we were there. Her husband is at her side every minute of the visiting hours, which makes for long days. He is a good man who loves her very much. They have been married 47 years. Her tongue is partially paralyzed and she is very weak on the right side, but I was surprised to see how well she is doing with walking. Four times a day for 140-150 feet each time.

We had lunch with my second cousin, two nieces and a great niece at a place that is at a high point on the hill overlooking the Monogahela River and took some lovely photos. We visited the cemetery where my Dad, Brother, Grandparents and Uncle are buried and weeded and cleaned up around the headstones.

We shopped, we ate, we shopped and ate some more. One of our stops, every time we visit, is Gene & Boots candy shop. All of the chocolates are hand made. I chose two pieces of white chocolate coconut, and two milk chocolate cashew clusters. I bought a pound of fudge to bring back for my employees and a chocolate thank you card for my cat sitter. She did a great job of texting and sending me pictures of them when she visited. She loves my cats and they love her. It's a great fit.

Today I slept late enjoying my own bed. There was nothing wrong with the bed at the hotel, it's just so much nicer to sleep at home.

Have a lovely day ladies!

Callie, driving in the truck, no matter the destination, may be a good fallback entertainment for D. You might be bored going to a repeat destination, but it might be a comfort to him to go to familiar places. Put some oldies on the radio and enjoy the AC! Hugs to you!

Jo-Ann,I wore myself out mowing, esp in this heat, but now I will able to do the mowing on a more normal schedule since I got rid of the thick, tall grass. I really did get fitter with all that mowing because I could literally see it on my heartrate monitor when I did workouts on the treadmill. That was pretty neat! emoticon

Callie, I'm enjoying your pictures. I hope you don't have to mow 4 hours like I did either but I'm sure you don't have a yard big enough to take 4 hours...your neighbors would appreciate you mowing their yards though. emoticon

Pat, I've been getting some really good sleep and actually have been sleeping late some mornings because I'm sleeping so hard I don't hear my alarm and R turns it off.

We spent hours today with me filling out R's forms on Adobe Acrobat so that we could email them to the naturopath that he will see next Wed. I also scanned his test results from various bloodwork and doctors and then emailed them to the doctor. He will have information ready for us at the start of the 3 hour visit because I did all that work and got it to him.

Heading to bed...sleep is calling. emoticon

Stopping in to say Hi. Callie, do you have a senior center nearby? They usually have a lot of activities going on there. You can even get a decent lunch very inexpensively. Just a thought! Mari, you must have some serious muscles about now with all that mowing. I bet you sleep really well at night! Susan, thinking of you on your trip. Hope it is going great! Joanne, with this hot weather we have been having, a pool sounds delightful. I bet you are having a fun time with those little ones. Shell, hope you are doing well! I am turning in. Looked in the mirror, definitely need Lots of Beauty Sleep! Hugs to all. Pat

LOL...you guys think I have a tidy closet...well, I guess I do but that is because I have so many clothes and accessories. emoticon But that assignment made me get rid of 16 things.

Yesterday`s was "gratitude"

I am grateful for our rustic cabin to have such enjoyable times with family & friends and air conditioning in my truck. Diet coke when I need a little settling down.

D is still asleep so I thought I would pop on.Because he does not have anything to do because it is too hot outside he comes over and either stands behind me or pulls up a chair next to me while I am on the computer. Really irritating but I can`t fault him for that.

The movie "Ricki and the Flash" was a good movie, D liked it also.Yes, I ate popcorn...so baaaaad but so good.

I have no clue for how I am going to entertain him today. I was thinking about a western museum in Cave Creek, a distance to drive but may be worth it. I am running out of ideas that are inexpensive and close. The heat is the culprit.

JoAnn.....I thought of you last night with those sweet babies. I know it was fun for you.

D is going to try to mow the front yard by using the weed eater. Just til we get another one. The guy who works on lawn mowers says ours as not cost effective to fix.

We never did have to put in the new air conditioner so I will take it back and get a lawn mower. I want an electric one so I can also mow if I need to. I hope I can talk D into it.I hope it doesn`t take me 4 hours like Marilyn emoticon

I am glad you are all on FB so you can see pics there. On SP...it is quite a lot more challenge to load them because they are usually too big and SP won`t upload them until I have uploaded them to my Walgreens` account and edit them. Easier doing a few than 35.

I made copies of 75 pictures out of 300 to give to Brian. All in all with uploading and editing....I probably spent 3 hours doing that.

But I do love my camera. It takes great pictures.

Well...I am going to go and get my photo challenge for the day done..."artwork".

Will try to BBL emoticon

I could really use an extreme closet makeover, Callie!

I'm pretty good about clearing out stuff that doesn't fit or that I don't wear, but could use some much better organization and better storage solutions.

I keep intending to put in more shelves, etc., but then I worry about committing to a design and having it not work out well for me (after paying money for additional shelving solutions, etc.)

It is almost time for my "fall fling", I need to start getting rid of worn summer stuff as I get my fall stuff ready to wear. Yesterday I ordered some replacements (on sale) for my faded black tees, both long and short sleeves.

I've been mowing every other day and now have all the tallest, thickest, most important places mowed. I think I can keep up with the mowing once a week now, if I'm willing to spend about 4 hours at a time doing it.

We visited our neighbor in the hospital and unlike her/our friend in Houston thinks, we can see for ourselves that she's barely there. The nurse said she has no cognizance and her eyes are glassy and she's in a lot of pain even though they have her on morphine. We spoke at length with the nurse and the hospital social worker. They might try to move her to a highly skilled nursing home tomorrow where she will be maintained just like she is now until her guardian tells them to do otherwise. Her guardian is on a cruise and they asked me to text her that they need to speak to her ASAP. I called the friend in Houston to tell her what we saw...when her other local friend had visited her yesterday, the Houston friend thought she was being too negative but what we saw today was a lot worse than what the friend saw yesterday. I know that my neighbor would not want to be kept alive like that but she didn't leave a directive so the hospital will have to do whatever the guardian says to do.

R's naturopath appt was moved up to Wed of next week so we will be filling out 23 pages of answers to questions and I'll have to scan those and all his previous test results and send them back to the doctor tomorrow.

I washed the dogs this morning so it's been a long day for us. Our driving time over 4 hours to get to the hospital and back. emoticon

Sweet dreams everybody! emoticon

Callie, your closet looks amazing. When we lived in a condo they had Hugh closets and mine looked really neat and tidy as I had plenty of room. Now I do not and it is not as neat and tidy. You put me to shame!! Thanks buddy!!! lol. Susan, sounds like you and John are getting really close! Tell us more about this guy that seems to be an important guy in your life. Mari, how is the mowing going? It is so hot and humid here and the air quality is bad because of it so I am totally house bound. Listening to music to keep me upbeat!

I'm glad the breakfast went well, Callie, but I sure do know about being leary and setting boundaries. I agree that your priorities with D and taking care of yourself must come first, plus you have your sister to attend to.

My life was filled with lots of high-drama folks who wanted me to take care of them. I finally decided I didn't need to do that anymore, that I needed to take care of me. The good news is that I've found that most of those "lovable characters" go off and find someone else pretty quickly when I'm too pre-occupied to take care of them.

In room taking a break before heading to hospital again.

Callie not the one who offered Niel Diamond tickets. I met John through the singles group. We have had three dates including a very long talk on my front porch last Saturday. Even though he is allergic to cats, he had me bring Houdini out on his leash to meet him. He is still more of a dog person but does not look like mine will be a deal breaker. We are texting each other daily while I am away.

Cat sitter is also checking in with me to let me know they are ok.

Good morning, everyone. Just a quick hello. I had to catch up on some paperwork this morning, and I've got a mountain of projects on my desk. It is very warm and humid here still. This is the last week of the Y classes session. I'll be swimming with my littlest buddies tonight (two classes 6mos--1yr, then 1-2yr), before aquacize class. The pool sure feels good at this time of year!
Hugs to you all!

Good a/m

D was up AND already dressed for the day. I told him it was VERY early (at that time is was 5:00 a/m) and after about 10 minutes of watching the news.....he is back in bed. emoticon

I had a rough nite,,,very little sleep. I think my closet was haunting me emoticon

Marilyn, I guess my closet is neat so I can get it all in. I can`t believe how vain I have become over clothes. emoticon I do LOVE colors.

My clothes shopping has got to emoticon

Todays` photo challenge is "gratitude". All I am coming up with is greatfullness for my air conditioner in my car and home. That may be what I do it on.

I just uploaded all our Williams trip pics to my Walgreens` account and edited them. 300 after I deleted what I didn`t want. Started last night , so altogether it took me over 2 hours. Now, I will order 75 for $10 (13 cnts @) to give to our friend Brian.

A thought just occurred to me...I am grateful that Brian has come back into our lives. So weird that we are now friends when he is the son of 2 of our deceased friends. Just like there was no age gap. We had such a great time at the cabin. He is so good with David and very open and genuine. He suffers with anxiety attacks and depression, so that is why he is on disability. I could introduce him to out lost friend Lisa but she has so much drama in her life and I don`t think it would be good for Brian.

Susan? have you seen the gentleman that wants to date you? I love romantic stories.

Sheila....I have not seen you post...are you OK?

Shell....have not heard from you in ages. I think about you and pray that all is alright.

Jo Ann.....I saw that you posted on FB and gained weight by viewing my p-nut butter chocolate cake. Doesn`t that look YUMMY!!!

Marilyn.....getting all those fresh fruits and veggies makes me jealous. Please introduce me to them, also. emoticon

Pat....is the weather still bothering you?

I have nothing planned for today. Thought about going to see that new movie with Meryl Streep and her daughter. It is called "Ricki and the Flash"

We need to get D`s lawn mower fixed....our yard is horrible.

Yes Callie, it's that neighbor. This afternoon they were able to take her off the ventilator so she is breathing on her own and she could talk a little bit. So tomorrow we'll be visiting someone who knows we are there, if she maintains this improvement. I think she will either be moved to the nicest nursing home in town to live or will go live with her ex step daughter or her friend in Houston, if she can leave the hospital eventually.

Sunday we will be going over to our closest neighbors to see what they've been doing to the inside of their house and then will take them over to meet the neighbors farther to the east (who give us homegrown produce).

Also, in the morning, before we go to the hospital, I'm going to wash dogs. emoticon

You have a very neat closet Callie. Our house is the second smallest we've ever lived in (out of 7 houses) and our closets are filled. We've lived in 2400 sq foot home and this home is 1250 so we really had to downsize but it's still hard to find storage space. I love the pretty colors in your closet. emoticon

Marilyn.....is this the neighbor that has a drinking problem that tries to hide it?

I just did another photo challenge. It took me 3 hours . "in your closet". I had such an awakening of how many clothes, scarfs, shawls blouses, pants, jackets and shoes that I have. I am embarrassed. I cleaned out my closet and gave away 16 articles.

Here is a picture of D, myself and our lost friend Lisa. It was taken last Sunday at church.

Callie, I'm always thinking of you because I know this just gets harder with D. He's in good hands with you, we just need someone to take care of the caretaker. emoticon emoticon

Susan, funny about your snoring. I'm amazed about how loud my cat Calico snores. I still will sometimes look around to see if Spot (our late 75 lb dog) is in the house but now I remember he's gone, when I do that. I've never heard a cat snore like Calico does and we've had a lot of cats. emoticon

Pat, you are right about how it's hard to tow the line with our eating, if the rest of the family doesn't eat that way. That's why I'll probably follow R's eating program and I know I'll be cooking/baking for him more, since he is so busy with work and doctor/hosp appts. emoticon

Hey Jo-Ann! emoticon

Our neighbors have been giving us home grown green beans, squash (three kinds), tomatoes (several types), and peaches. emoticon

We are really looking forward to seeing R's neuro in two weeks and even more so looking forward to the three hour appt with the naturopath in 4 weeks. The naturopath has a 23 page questionnaire to fill out and also wants to see all of R's various test results.

My neighbor is in ICU on life support but as of today, is fully awake. Because her formerly estranged ex-daughter in law was appointed her guardian, with the approval of her friend in Houston, who could also have been her guardian, I've gotten to know the daughter in law. The DIL had a business trip already scheduled and needed to leave town so tomorrow I will be visiting my neighbor in the hospital, so I can text her and the Houston friend, to tell them how she is doing.

I know she didn't want to have to live on life support (feeding tube directly to her stomach and a ventilator which they have not been able to wean her off of). If only she had left a living will/directive so her wishes could be followed. The DIL is doing her best to do what is right but everything takes time when the patient hasn't left specific wishes. Now I'm not sure they will do what my neighbor wants, since she didn't show sound thinking when she wasn't in the hospital.

Going to lift weights now! emoticon

The breakfast with our lost friend went well. She sure has a lot of drama, still, in her life. Nice visiting with her but leary about what will come in the future. I have my boundaries that I will stick with. She use to live behind us a few years back, she left and fell on some really hard times. But we`ll see what the future holds. I do love her and want the best for her but with my care giving with D, I don`t have anything to give to someone else.

It is so hot...did not even want to go to the mail box. emoticon

I wish D had something he could do , inside because then I would not feel guilty about being on SP. He is always looking over my shoulder ..so I will sign off.

Know that I think often of all of you. emoticon

Take care, everyone.....remember...I am always thinking of you.

Hellooooooooo

We got back last Friday afternoon...so much to do in the Williams area and such great weather that we decided to stay another day. D was anxious to get home and back to his routine.

Got home to record breaking heat and our room air conditioner was not performing well ..thought it had gone out. Long story short...have a brand new one ready to put in but the other one is working like it always was.

D has had some dementia issues. Has kept me frustrated and guessing on how to handle things. been busy with family and church also.

Pat....I hope all is better , now.

Susan, you are on vacation? have a BLAST!

Marilyn, looks like R is really being proactive. I know you are happy that you have his help in this health situation.

Jo ann.......good a/m to you.I wish I knew someone with goats. We need our yard mowed BADLY. Our mower went out and $500 for an air conditioner but will need a lawn mower. Tax lady had an electric one she said she would give us and that she would bring it right over.......Not here yet...that was almost 2 weeks ago and now she is on vacation.

Today we are meeting for breakfast with another old friend. Long story....things have kept her away but she has come back into our lives. Hope this reunion is good.

I need to go, for now. Will come back later today and post pics of our trip...a really busy 5 days. If you have aFB account...go to my page and you will see 37 pics out of 343.

LOVE to all of you emoticon

Slept very badly last night was so achy. Was determined to go to Mass this morning. I lifted up my pain for Robert and David praying for them and their caring wives. Then it is worth something. I have thought of seeing a naturalist about making major changes in my food intake. I have cut out salt as much as possible and try and stay away from processed food as much as possible. I truly think there is a lot of poisonous chemicals in them very hard on our bodies. It is difficult to do stay "clean" unless your family is doing the same. Hope you are having a wonderful get away Susan and Callie. Hugs to all. Pat

Jo-Ann, I think of you a lot now, when I'm out doing my chores...I mean when I'm out doing FarmFit. emoticon

I was exhausted last night and wrote a post to all of you and it got eaten by the internet. emoticon emoticon I was too tired to rewrite it so I went to bed and slept very hard and long. Today I did the last of the major mowing of the very thick, tall grass in our 1 acre front yard. This has been a tough project during a very hot summer but I got the job done. R is having trouble doing much on his feet so I'm having to take over a lot of the physical work around here. I'm not sure what we will do about unloading hay in the future...that's something we need to discuss although I know R still wants to do that himself for now.

I'm sorry you are feeling badly Pat. emoticon emoticon emoticon I hope you feel better soon. We've been soaking R in a tub of epsom salts and it's been helping his aches and pains. emoticon

Susan, aren't cats wonderful. Calico spends a lot of the night pawing my head and trying to nibble on my face and arms so I usually have my head under a sheet, although I make a little space so I can breath. emoticon Later, after she falls asleep on me, I love waking up and feeling her there...I always think of Waddles and Super Tiny then and how much they have meant to me. emoticon

I think we are going gluten free soon. I have resisted such a thing but if the IVG infusions and plasma transfers don't help R then he may be put on high long term doses of prednesone to fight inflammation. There are many drawbacks to steroids so we are going to try to fight inflammation with alternative medicine. We will be seeing Sir Eliezer Ben-Joseph a traditional naturopath next month. I wish Mani were still here because a lot of things that we are learning would be good for R are things that I know her family did for her.

R is now using herbs and spices and eating fruit and veggies, avoiding any added sugars and amazing me with how much he's changed from his old ways of eating. He's doing serious reading and research on ways to help his body deal with it's illness. We will also be seeing his neurologist soon, to discuss how he is doing so far.

Spark now links up with Garmin Connect so my activity from my Garmin Vivoactive Sportswatch will automatically upload to Spark! emoticon

Throat is ok now, it must have been the fan.

9 days of no pantyhose, no suits, one dress up affair (going to a wedding Friday), ahhhhh!

Magic woke me at 5 AM by nibbling on my ear then curling around my neck to purr. She is something else LOL. Laundry is in the dryer and when it gets light enough I'm heading outdoors to weed the flower beds. They've been somewhat neglected this Summer. I also want to clean up the porch area.

Debating if I will get my nails done today or wait until Thursday. Then working Friends of Library booksale this afternoon and having an early dinner with John tonight.

Barb and I will leave at 6 AM tomorrow for Pennsylvania so I want it to be an early to bed night tonight. I will have my kindle with me but not sure of my nieces internet hookup so if you don't hear from me, rest assured you'll remain in my thoughts.

I can facebook from my phone, but I don't think the SP app on there gets me to these boards.

Sleeping with the fan on gives me a dry, scratchy throat, too, Susan. Hopefully that's all it is.
Hooray for your much-needed break!

Farmfit....LOL!

Last day of work then off for 9 days. I need the break!

Woke with a sore throat and think its just because I slept with the fan on. I don't feel sick, just have scratchiness. Sipping warm coffee and it's helping.

Jo-Ann, I have read about people renting out herds of goats to clear property. They certainly will do that...you won't have to worry about anything being left when they are done. They like to EAT! Back when my old goat, Billy Goat, was still alive (he's in my avatar with Sammy), I'd see him standing up on his hind legs to get up as high as he could to eat my yucca plants. emoticon

I knew you would have a good babysitter for the kitties Susan. emoticon

I mowed for over 3 hours this evening...I'm making progress. emoticon

Marilyn, someone here has recently begun renting out small herds of goats to clear overgrown poison ivy in large parks. I think they use some temporary fencing to keep them within certain areas until they clear each section.

Marilyn all of your pets are so well loved and cared for. I want to come back as one of yours!

My sister Barb and I agreed it makes sense to cancel our Indiana vacation and go to Pennsylvania to be with our family now, instead of September. We leave Sunday morning, returning Wednesday night.

We will stay with my niece. I am lining up cat sitter now. They are pretty low maintenance and can get by on their dry food only if they have to, but I prefer to have someone stop in twice a day to give them moist food and some cuddle/play time.

Sorry to hear your sister may have had another stroke Susan. emoticon

Cut grass can cause horses to colic, which can kill them. But I think that cows and goats can eat cut grass just fine because their digestive system is very different. So we put the grass out for the ranch cattle. Our vet suggested we put Milly Goat in a "weight watcher's" pen so she wouldn't even be able to eat what little grows in our horse pasture so I'm sure she wouldn't want us to feed her our mowed grass. Milly Goat is a little squirt in height but she's also as wide as she is tall. emoticon

I immediately nixed the idea of putting Milly Goat in lock-up because that would greatly decrease her quality of life. She roams our entire acreage and I think that all that exercise is worth the fact that she can pick at plants while she roams. So, no she doesn't get the mowed grass but she does get to eat the horse hay scraps and the mesquite trees, yucca, and cactus in our horse pasture. She is quite the prima dona and she'll also start bucking and butting the air, if I don't pet her when I walk by. In other words, she is spoiled rotten. emoticon

She also likes to be around with our Great Pyrenees and plays with them all the time. She will spend the day sleeping beside Sammy, my emu. And she likes to roam the pasture with the horses. She's a very busy goat but she'll come running when she sees us (with her wide belly bouncing up and down on both sides of her)...she runs to R because he gives her treats even though he isn't supposed to do so and she runs to me for loving, hugging, and scratching. emoticon

Been having internet connectivity issues for a couple of days. I really need to make time to install the new cable modem they sent me a couple weeks ago as I'm sure that's the problem :)

Marilyn are you giving the cut grass to the goats?

Jo I also hope T is better soon and not sharing germs with you.

Sigh, just got a text that my sister in PA may have had a second stroke. Now not sure if I should be going to Indiana, or point the car her way next week instead. Checking with sister here to see what she wants to do.

Brother in law is out of hospital and back at rehab center, doing a bit better now.

Oh the joys of life.

Two nights in a row of waking up at 2 AM and not being able to get back to sleep. Trying to stay up until 10 tonight to hopefully sleep through to the alarm (or a bathroom break) this time.

Our acre front yard has mesquite trees (look more like bushes), yucca, and cactus and I consider them my landscaping and don't want those things eaten. I can't let Milly Goat (or Billy Goat, when he was still alive) out there because they head straight to those things to eat, ignoring the great grass. Otherwise it'd be a great idea. emoticon

Once I get the grass that is 2 foot high and very thick, mowed, I will mow every week and it'll be much easier...this kind of growth and rain may never happen again in our lifetime and it happened when R and I were so busy with his hospital treatments and other things. Plus it kept raining so we couldn't even mow if we had the time.

But I'm getting close to having the tall stuff taken care of and then I can maintain it much easier.

Hope T gets over what he has very soon. And good job of not going up much on the scale. It helps if we can accept the little increases in weight so that we don't get hard on ourselves, rather than making it worse by eating more because we feel like we goofed.

We lost our electricity from 4:30 - 9:30 pm yesterday. In town it was over 100 degrees but it was 90 at our place and R and I went outside (where the winds were 40mph so they cooled us) and I mowed for 3 hours and we did yard work for another hour). I told R that I wanted to go in and take a shower and then have the electricity come back on and I got in the shower and it came on so that worked out very well. emoticon

More mowing and yard work this evening. emoticon

I was so happy to be back with my littlest swimmers last night, as well as with my other water aerobics class. Things are going well.

I'm back to normal, but poor T took himself to the clinic yesterday because his tummy symptoms weren't improving. They gave him some strong antibiotics and are running some tests just to be sure that it isn't anything other than a virus. I'm glad he is getting checked and hopefully the antibiotics will get him back to normal soon.

Not much else to report today!

I was dreading getting back on the scale after a week away from the Y, from my daily routines, and from my usual meal options. (We brown-bagged some snacks, but mostly ate out.)

Having an "iffy" tummy for a couple of days on our return didn't help either because I've been eating bland carbs, like crackers and soup, and avoiding my usual fruits and veggies. (There wasn't much in the house after vacation and lots of it wasn't "tummy safe", so I had to make-do until I could do a quick stop at the grocery store on my way home last night. The store was about to close, so I just grabbed a few things.)

I made myself weigh in this morning, and it wasn't actually as bad as I'd thought it might be. Up a few pounds, but could have been much worse. (Some is fluid retention--I ate more saltier foods than normal.) This is good news, in a weird way, because I was able to "loosen up" a bit without gaining a dramatic amount. I don't usually feel as if I am able to "trust myself", but maybe that will slowly change.

Susan, I'll visit LegacyWriter.com and check it out. emoticon

Pat, yikes, that was some storm. Thank goodness it was just your surge protector that got fried.

Jo-Ann, glad you are feeling better and that's funny about the lifeguard singing your songs while teaching the little ones.

I got good sleep last night and I'll be careful to not overdo although I do still get very tired when the work is this physical. Just lugging the grass catcher bag to the edge of the property is strength training and gets a lot of walking too.

Be back later...I still have a lot to do getting this computer set up. I'm redownloading Quicken now and have to get it up to date.

We had a bad storm very early this morning that fried our power surge . Luckily, the computers and televisions were alright. We did lose electric for about an hour. We called all our elderly neighbors to check on them and one gentlemen got his computer and television fried. Bless his heart he was so upset. All lost electric but everyone else was alright thanks be to God. Really tired today as I did not get to sleep until late, too much on my mind. Allergies still bothering me but such is life right!!! I know I wrote down what I want for my funeral and both my husband and I do not want to be resuscitated or kept alive by artificial means. We really need to get that in writing!!! Take care everyone. Don't overdo Mari!! Hugs to all. Pat

Having learned the hard way with Gary refusing to put a healthcare POA and DNR in place, I have all of mine set up. My sister has one copy, my doctor has a copy on file in my chart, and the originals are in my safe deposit box.

Marilyn I used LegacyWriter.com to create mine and then you need to sign them in front of a notary. It asks you a series of questions to create your documents, download and print and ready to go.

Jo I LOVE the index card idea! I have this info in my phone, but since I do keep a password on the phone realize that might not be the best spot for it if I were in an accident or passed out. I might make mine to fold and fit in the little holder behind my drivers license.

My brother in law was discharged from the hospital yesterday back to the nursing home, got there and had another episode! They have him on oxygen and bed rest for a few days now.

Pat I think my sister needs the break from everything more than I do.

Jo it's good to hear you are feeling a little better and able to enjoy your water activities again.

Callie I've had that happen quite a few times myself. Very frustrating when it does.

Pressed for time this morning. Magic has next round of kitten shots tonight.

Have a lovely day everyone! emoticon

I am feeling a little more like myself today. I'm still sticking with plain, bland foods for the time being, just in case.

I was happy to get back to water aerobics last night and could tell that my class missed me, so that felt nice.

Tonight, I've got the two youngest classes. I heard from another lifeguard that one of the "tough guy" lifeguards ended up filling in for me and sang all the nursery rhymes that I do. He usually teaches older school-age kids, but clearly has been paying attention to what I do with the little ones. That amuses me. I hope he had a good time doing it!

Marilyn, I know what you mean about the legal documents. When my mom died, I had to search quickly through not just piles, but mountains of old paperwork (hoarding) looking for any important paperwork, some of which didn't exist. (She'd often mentioned life and burial insurance. I found many incomplete forms but she apparently never submitted any of them.) Talk about stress. That made me begin to take better care to keep my own paperwork in order.

By the way, I hope everyone has "ICE" (In Case of Emergency) info in their wallet or purse. I've got one index card for me and one for T. When I broke my wrist, I was able to direct the ER staff to get the card out of my wallet. They were so very happy that I had my list of medications and other important info on it. You think you will remember things during an emergency, but I know from experience that this may not be the case. I also have this same ICE info on a page in my address book.

Yikes, it's already so late that it's tomorrow! But I'm still at the computer so I wanted to post to everybody. I picked up my computer from the Geek Squad and am now reinstalling things, knowing that this computer is going to be R's and the one we've ordered will be my new one. R's old computer was almost unusable and now he and I will both have very good computers. emoticon

Susan, glad your sister is going to Indiana with you. And Susan, my neighbor's situation has me thinking way too much, not only about taking care of my health but also about making sure there are legal documents that can be found and people who know about them, so that when it's time for my wishes to be known, like about life support and extraordinary efforts to keep one alive, that I'm not just kept going by machines. And it can go the other way, someone might want everything possible to be done. But for each of us, we need document our wishes and make sure they are available. emoticon

Jo-Ann, I hope the virus doesn't hit you hard and I'm very glad you are back! emoticon

Oh Callie! emoticon I hate when a long post gets lost before I can send it. emoticon

Pat, R is doing very good...I patted him on the head for you. emoticon He's about to get the nice computer I'm using, as his own, once I get it all set up for him. I still have so much grass to mow that for about the next 5 days, I'm going to put on my heart rate monitor, turn on my activity tracker, and mow about 2-3 hours each morning. R will get to do some chores while I'm doing that but he'll also get to ride his bike for about 60-90 minutes without having to go slow because he's doing it beside me while I hike.

Pets are all doing very well. Memmy, our little gray cat with the tumor in her ear, will get the tumor trimmed like she does every 3 months, this Wed. But we don't have anything else planned for R's days off so we are feeling like things are not so busy this week. emoticon

Callie, it can be so dang frustrating when we lose a post it took so long to type. Hope you have a great few days with David. Joann, great having you back. So sorry about the bug you and your friends got. Hope it is over quickly!!! Sending you healing prayers. Susan, sure is a lot going on with your family in the health department. Glad you are able to get away though. Will do you both a world of good I am sure. Mari, how is Robert and the fur kids doing? Let them all know I am sending ear rubs (not Robert though, he gets a hug)! It is very overcast here today with some severe storms coming in later tonight. Humidity is very high so hopefully the storms will cool it down. Have a great week everyone!!
