I still enjoy some good pizza. I used to eat half a pizza - usually cheese and mushrooms, so nothing too terrible but still, too much food. Now I enjoy a slice or two of thin crust veggie pizza with maybe some chicken on it. It's hard when faced with temptations like your formerly favorite pizza but knowing that there are healthier delicious ways to enjoy foods makes it a lot easier!

I passed a big test today. My son said he was bringing my (use to be) favorite pizza for dinner. It is also his family's favorite. I was prepared. I chose to eat my planned small dinner and watch everyone enjoy their pizza. I knew I could have had a small slice and slowly savored each bite but I did not want to do that-- too expensive calorie wise. I noticed everyone had two or three slices.

I choose to no longer indulge in certain foods. I use to love donuts, but they no longer attract me. I will still have pizza occasionally but it will be homemade -- thin wheat crust, tomato sauce with vegetable piled on. I can no longer enjoy thick crust, pepperoni, sausage, cheese pizza (high calorie/low nutrition food).

I strength train, usually a couple of times a week, but I find that I am sort of lax about it at times...like last week I only went to the class one time. That would be okay if I would do it on my own, but I don't. I want to up the strength training to three times a week and I want to challenge myself a little more.

Strength train, strength train, strength train! It's the only thing I've found that works in combatting loose skin.

My name's Tina. I lost more than 90 pounds between March 2010 and March 2012 and have been keeping if off ever since. Had a baby at the end of April 2016 and am working to get back to my pre baby form, or at least as close to it as I realistically can!

I have some loose skin, but it's not as bad as it could be. One thing's sure-I'll never look like a 20 year old again! But I can be reasonably healthy. God made the body to be quite resilient!

My weight is day by day becoming more dependent upon Whose I am than on my circumstances and feelings.

Interesting to see this thread. I recently saw a person whose picture was not used for some magazine because she was showing her loose skin. You can see from my profile picture that my arms are floppy (I am 65), and I do have loose skin, but nowhere near as bad as most I have seen after a 200 pound weight loss. I never got the apron thing, but most of my weight loss was gradual, and the skin did improve in the years since I took it off. I think genetics play a part. And I have a very high quality diet.

Life is good

Two years and seven months of maintenance, that is just so wonderful Deborah! I have the loose skin - in all of my years of yo yo dieting, I never had that, but this time it is so bad. I was told it is because of my age (nearing 50) but I suspect sun damage as well as I am out in the sun a lot and with no sunscreen - shame on me. I know better. I do strength training twice a week and I am going to try to up the vitamin C a bit...always trying to boost up the Omega 3s but not doing very well at it - I will try harder!

Keep up the good work Deborah and good luck with your new goals - you have come this far so in my mind, you WILL succeed!

Congrats! Nutritionally, the skin needs a lot of water and essenital fatty acids like from fish and flax. Vitamin C is also good for collagen formation.

Loose skin is tough to manage, but I find that consistent weight training, plyometrics and doing intervals for cardio seems to help the most.

I think maintenance is just as much of a journey as weight loss. You have done a terrific job!

Congratulations on everything you've achieved, especially maintaining a 120-pound loss, and welcome to the team! Good luck with your new short-term goal and let us know if you need anything.

Hi Everyone,
I read the why- of -it -all for this group and I must say I am thrilled.
My stats are I am forty I began at age 36 and five feet , seven inches tall fighting for my life and I survived obesity. I had been an obese child, teen, and young adult. By age 12 I tipped the scale at over 200 lbs.
As of today I have gotten rid of 120 lbs. I have maintained that for two years and 7 months.
I am not at my goal weight. I decided I want to lose 14 more pounds and reside there. This is a new goal weight; previously I thought I needed to lose 34 lbs. more but after researching my hip to waist ratio, current clothing size and my commitment level I decide a short term goal of - 14 lbs. for now.

God is careful with me, he has promised a hope and future.
