Good morning team! Hope all is well. It's really cold here today, so no outside walk for me.

What do you do when you can't go outside to exercise???

Hi livelaufluv, hope you are getting thru. I appreciate your good wishes ..I am doing very well on SP, love it overall. Sounds like you are having busy holidays, our October class is not being real active on here. Hope all busy shopping and all, and not dropped off..
I am not having to cook much this year, having Christmas Eve family tradition in true Italian style at sisters this year and Christmas Day at my sons. Carrying in several dishes but not overwhelming like many years. I wish you the very best for your holidays. T.

Great job starting your blog TEAROSE!

Busy days around here getting ready for the holidays, just as everyone is! We are having a family party on Saturday then small get togethers on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Of course they are all at our house!

Hi all, aggravated that. Have my second streak in a week messed up by satellite internet outages. Weather east of Cleveland, just off Lake Erie is nasty. Live 350 ft. Off roadway, on the side of a mountain. Lovely but days like today! Struggling with diverticulosis flare up.
Fresh fruits and veggies interrupted. Just a nasty week. Thankful for all of you, for SparkPeople and a wonderful life filled with God and family. I have reached 166 pounds total Loss, and hit 67 on 11/22. Happy Thanksgiving to you all. Tearose/Tina

I did well on the weekend but I've been struggling this week. I tend to make my poorest choices when I'm overtired and baby likes to keep mommy awake. I've also been really busy lately with a bunch of volunteer work. It's something that will be keeping me busy up until Christmas Eve but the worst of it will be this week and next, plus I started my daycare back up again. Busy busy, but life doesn't go on hold while we lose weight...so here's me learning to adapt and still work on making healthy choices and staying active.

Yesterday was a good day for me. I tracked EVERYTHING that went in to my mouth, got in 10 glasses of water, and exercised (even though I really didn't want to). Hoping for a repeat performance today.

I fell off the horse so to speak last week. I purchased the SparkCoach for one month, because when I had the free trial week I LOVED it and it really kept me engaged and motivated to do well. So far, I haven't done too bad, yesterday was a bad food day, but I got in exercise. Today has been good a food day, but no exercise (yet). Hopefully things will even out soon.

Good morning all. Hope everyone had a good weekend. Mine was pretty good, got lots of exercise in, took two long walks, and spent some time chopping and stacking wood for the fireplace.

Headed out for a walk soon.

Have a great day everyone.

Woke up today with upset tummy, Have a houseful today, and busy open house tonight. Brother turns 65, I have such a food family and looking forward to dinner with all. Modified several recipes, won't have any issues staying on program. Wishing everyone a lovely fall week end.
The apples sound good, just saw the 13 uses for cottage cheese article, some great ideas.

Trina - great job with the apples instead of the candy! I actually threw away chips and other snacky foods today. I hate throwing away food, but I hate the way I feel after I eat them even more!

Have a great day!

Today's victory... I craved some of my kids candy but instead...I grabbed the apple corer and cored 2 apples (I was starving!! LOL) and put them in a bowl, topped it with brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and some nuts and threw it in the microwave for 2 mins. It def hit the spot, but note to self, the pecans weren't that great on a baked apple lol AND next time 90 sec would do. Saved a ton of calories because once I start with the candy, it doesn't take long to see the wrappers pile up.

Woo Hoo it's finally Saturday! We have a busy day today. Today is the gathering in my mom's memory, then we are having the gang back to our house for pizza. Chaos will rein today.

Lots to do to get ready for company, but first a walk......Dgd is spending the night with us, so we'll be up at odarkthirty tomorrow morning, since 3 year olds don't understand getting an extra hour of sleep when we set the clocks back!

Have a great day everyone!

Happy Wednesday everyone! Today is story time at the library for dgd and I! Can't wait.

We are planning a campfire on Saturday to remember my mom. She was a girl scout leader and touched a lot of lives. So in her memory we are inviting people to come and have a marshmallow or smore in her memory. Should be fun.

Have a great day everyone!

Hi team, well I went a bit AWOL over the weekend but I am back on track today and determined to have a really good week. Off to an aerobic and toning class at the gym this evening but not sure how much I will be able to do because I am suffering with shin splints abit. It has nearly cleared up so I hope it will be okay

JACS - glad you had fun at the roller disco! I haven't roller skated in years, but have fond memories of it!

I have big plans for today, finish the laundry (power went out for a few hours yesterday afternoon so I didn't get it done!), take a long walk - the sun is out so it's a beautiful bright day right now!, cook dinner, and relax.

Hope everyone has a great day today!

Happy Saturday everyone! I hope you have all had a good week. Mine's been ok, but I'm struggling a bit mentally. I am beating myself up a bit, as I harped on my mom about her eating habits and find that my habits are much closer to hers than I would have believed. I am digging deep this week, and don't really like what I see. So I have to figure out how to make the changes that I thought I had made, but found I didn't really make!

Today is going to be a more relaxing day, but I do have some plans. I have banana bread in the oven, and once it's done I'll walk to my Dad's to take him dinner for tonight along with some banana bread. My dad has COPD and can't go outside when it is windy. He has some outdoor cats that he feeds, so someone needs to feed the cats today. I will kill 2 birds with 1 stone by walking to his house (about 4 miles round trip).

Have a great day everyone!

So today is the day I start getting serious! I need to spend some time getting organised and am going to set up a file with healthy recipes in it so that I have no excuse not knowing what to eat. I am taking my eldest two sons to a rolle rdisco tonight and so that will give me some exercise. I am suffering from shin splints at the moment in my left leg but it has pretty much gone now so I am hoping that it wont aggravate it!

Here I go.................... emoticon

Hi team, well I am ashamed to say that I haven't been active on sparkpeople at all this week, I never really got off the starting block but I am here now and determined to make a go of it. I thought I would give you a little bit of a background to me so you know me better.

I am 37 years old and a stay at home mum, I have four children, three boys aged 10, 8 and 5 and a little 2 year old girl. We were trying for another but I recently had a miscarriage and it has made me question whether we should be happy as we are. I just hate the idea that I may never have another child, I am still so broody!!

I used to be an accountant before having the children but before my daughter was born I qualified in child care and would like to get into that when I go back to work

I struggle with anxiety a lot and find it hard to go out in the evenings socialising, so am a bit of a loner these days. I emotional eat and binge eat and generally have a very difficult relationship with food. I used to be thin but now need to lose 70 pounds and at the moment the weight is just going up and up

I am English and live on the South coast by the sea, I love swimming and am a bookworm. I also like crochet and crossstitch

I went to the doctors today for a general health MOT. I have never done that before. My blood pressure is REALLY high and it has frightened me a lot. I am waiting for the results of my blood tests but I feel so worried that I am seriously risking my health by my lifestyle choices. I am obese, have high blood pressure, drink too much wine and eat junk food. This needs to change for my children, I need to be a good role model, The funny thing is I insist they eat well so I don't know why I don't do the same thing to myself!! On a positive note I gave up smoking on 20th January this year :-)

So sorry about all the info I just felt the need to get it all down out loud

I look forward to getting to know you better

Jacs :-)

Hi!

I think that you are doing great to even acknowledge that emotional eating is an issue for you and I am so glad that you are finding the posts inspiring. I can certainly sympathise with emotional eating. My family has always been very food oriented (happy, sad, angry, etc. = eating time). I think that is part of the reason I tend to get into that emotional eating pattern. (Why yes, I can eat an entire pan of brownies in a sitting). I am also a wicked perfectionist, with an: "I messed up so now the day is ruined" type of thinking. Not good!
Earlier this week, I was super stressed and all I wanted was junk food. I actually managed to avoid buying a candy bar and now I don't even want it. I found that making a thick fruit smoothie with vanilla whey protein powder really took the edge off. That, and I hit the gym. It gave me the feeling of indulging without going crazy, and the exercise was distracting. It has taken me a while to get here and I still need to work at it, but I know that emoticon

If you ever need a friendly ear (or eyes?), feel free to send me a message.

Abbi
P.S. I did have a great night. Thanks!

Hi everyone! I'm off to a slow start. Today was a crazy stress day for me. I'm a crazy emotional eater so nutrition was out the door today. I did manage to sneak 3 veggies in to my dinner though so I count that a plus :-) switched out my water for pop at 1 today. Still gave a lot of work to do in getting myself in line but reading all your posts is inspiring be to want to do better :-) hope everyone has a great night!

Trina - thanks for sharing! Reading your post made me tired! I can't believe you can get all of that stuff done with 5 kids. I'm retired and don't do all of that stuff. I love to knit, I make mittens for Christmas presents and crochet the tops on towels for gifts.

Had a great time today with my daughter and granddaughter. We went to 2 parties, one at DD's work, and a 6YO birthday party. They had a bounce house there, and I had a blast in it. (Yes I was one of the big kids jumping in the bounce house).

I'm home now, and very tired. I did a 4 mile run this morning to get ready for the party foods that would be consumed today, and did well with my plan.

Hope everyone is having a great day!

Donna

I'm feeling chatty today so bare with me here LOL.

This week has been busy and I'm still working on getting back into the groove of things after pulling all my back muscles.

News for me...
Natasha is 6 months old today =] Which means needle time tomorrow =[ But I also will be multi tasking tomorrow while I'm at the clinic. I need to have my B12 injection and I will be heading downstairs to my optometrist and finally picking out my new glasses!! These ones will be 8 years old in the spring!! Def time for new ones.

My ex's gf is finally on maternity leave which means my son can stay the night again on Tues (dumb story but I'm going to use that to my advantage in a couple weeks - bend a little - they have to bend too).

Twins are talking more and more every day =] Also taking more interest in more fine motor things. They always seem to have "learning spurts". They don't progress for so long and then suddenly they're pick up on everything!!

It was Thanksgiving here on the weekend. We celebrated on the Sun. Being nice got me the short end of the deal and we ended up celebrating just ourselves (still 7 of us though) but didn't know to the Sat and turkeys were sold out so we had to improvise (yay chicken breasts!! LOL) and I got really creative with the leftovers...modified sheppard's pie Mon and Tues I used the leftover stuffing to make chicken bruschetta bake. Kid's didn't even notice the turnip mixed into the sheppard's pie LOL

My cell phone was broke (wouldn't charge) so I figured out a way to do it without the charging port...seems to be working almost as well. It'll do til Dec when the new law comes into effect and phone companies can only lock you in for 2 years instead of 3 and then I can get out of mine and get a new one for a new 2 year term.

My back seems to be almost back to normal. It still needs to be stretched out some more but I can now do dishes without dying LOL. It helps that Natasha has gotten better at entertaining herself on the floor and in her jumparoo, instead of having to hold her most of the day.

I'm now in the process of crocheting my lil ones halloween hats. Natasha will be a cabbage patch kid, and the twins are going to be minions from Despicable Me. To complete the costume I just need overalls and back mitts for the twins and I'm using a cute fancy dress I have that I haven't really put on her much but she doesn't really need any thing else but the "hair" hat. If you haven't seen these cute cats you really need to check them out on google!! They's so adorable!!

Good evening team! Hope everyone has had a successful day today. I got in a 4 mile run after my granddaughter left, and got in a bunch of exercise while she was here. We practiced the chacha, which was a lot of fun!

Tomorrow is my WI day at WW. I have to be no more than 2 pounds over my goal weight to maintain my free status. Keeping my fingers crossed that I make it! After WW I'm going to help my Dad with my mom's paperwork. We have to get in touch with the insurance companies an other agencies to obtain her benefits from them for my dad. It will be a tough afternoon I'm sure.

Journalled everything today and I'm on track calorie wise. Exercise was good today too, Water was a bit light, as I only have in 72 oz so far, 80 is my minimum goal for the day.

Bed time for me, talk to you tomorrow

I had a meeting today =] I had originally wanted to put on a 5K to help raise funds for my town's local food bank to help cover the costs of the Christmas baskets and the Christmas Toy Drive.I had it all ready to go but just waiting on approval for the location. It fell through and now there is not enough time to put it together in time THIS year. So I'm going to take all the work I did and save it for next year.

THIS meeting was to see what I could do to help in the meantime. Since our food bank is provided by The Salvation Army, they have kettle bells that need to go out and to be organized. They cover 4 different towns but our town is by far the largest. They have asked me to be the coordinator for our town =] I'm pretty excited to still be able to help this year. This will also give me some office administration experience that I would like to have. I have always worked in a restaurant til I opened up my own daycare. The daycare idea is something I'd like to get back into come Jan - just waiting on my baby to have a decent routine before I start watching other people's children too. But still this is something I only want to do til the twins are in school (2 years from now). Then I would love to get into an actual career which is really hard if you have no experience in a town like mine.

I start on the 1st Tues of Nov =]

Good morning team! It's going to be a nice day in Western NY! I'm going to get a walk in, then pick up my granddaughter from preschool. We plan on walking to the park this afternoon (after naptime), then will make spaghetti for dinner.

What's your plan for the day?

Good morning team! What's everyone doing today? It's rainy here, so my granddaughter and I will play inside today. I'll hop on the treadmill or elliptical while she naps later.

Have a great day!!!!

It's a great day to join SparkPeople!

I've been laying low today, as I have a chest cold. Trying to stay away from my Dad who has COPD. My mom passed away on Tuesday last week, so it's been a tough week.

I am thrilled to be part of this team. Please ask any and all questions you have about SparkPeople. There is a lot of information available to us, sometimes we just need help finding it, or figuring out how to use it!

Don't hesitate to ask any and all questions!!!!!!
