On this thread the last post was almost an entire year ago since today is 8/7/19. My goal is to clean out my body's systems of anything that may be an irritant or anything that I'm overloaded with. I will build up my weak points in my diet and exercise. At the end of the 30 day cycle I will chose which highly rated diet I want to continue with. I am on calendar challenges that will go hand in hand with the Whole30.

I'm doing this W30 to kick sugar & breads out of my system again. Cravings and hunger were high on days 1 & 2. Day 3 is off to a great start! I'm feeling much better!

Is this your first W30 or just a new one?

Today is day 1 of a new W30. I typically don't eat until 11 a.m.; but as soon as ai decided to commit to a W30, I started to get hungry. At least I'm only craving bacon.

Reviving the threads! Hopefully is someone else is in the Whole 30 wilderness and stumbles along this team, we can connect emoticon

I'm on Day 3 of Whole 30!

So far so good, but I sure am extra cranky. I was really hungry yesterday so today I made sure to make my meals a little bigger and packed a snack (mini meal) for the afternoon.

My days are kinda long so I am not sure I can stick with just 3 meals a day.

Can't believe November's almost half over! How's everything going? I've been reading Mark Sisson's The Keto Reset Diet. Love it! What I love most is he promotes Whole Food Keto. So I should be able to make some tweaks and do a Keto W30. That's the goal. I'm eating basic W30 clean this week then I'll add in Mark's 21 day Keto meal plan.

Happy November! After my reintro for the month of October, I'm gonna stick to W30/Paleo eating, it's been wrking for me. I'm not having any major crashes, or Gut Bombs after meals.. Gaawwdd I always thought that was Normal.. Feeling like you need a nap after eating... lol- When You Know Better You Do Better... Hoping to keep this momentum throughout the Holiday Season!!! Goals are outlined for November.. Here We Go-

Happy Halloween!!! Down 7 lbs for the month of October. Reintro has been eye opening- Eliminating Dairy/Gluten were major Game Changer's! Feeling better with tons of energy. Friends & family have completed their whole30 & lots of celebration!!! Topic of Paleo side dishes no longer seem too out there for many!! Lol

Reintro for the month of Oct has been going well.. Saying Goodbye to Dairy wasn't as hard as I thought it would be!!! Feeling soo much better without it.. Soo happy happy for Friends/ Family memebers who embarked on Whole 30 this month.. Lot's of New Found Energy's, Massive weight loss, and overall Joy...So excited for them emoticon

Using Paleo Flour for my Sweet Potatoe Naan was just Meh--- I can do without this flour blend.. I will continue to use All Purpose Flour and only consume 1-1.5 pc of bread and call it good... Anymore would just send me to Bloated City,,, & I hate being there!.. lol emoticon My month of October Intro has been going well...

I purchased Paleo/Gluten Free Flour!!!! I'm going to attempt the Vegan Naan bread I made a few weeks ago.. I'll sub this Flour for the All Purpose!! That Naan recipe was soo simple. One cup of Steaming Hot Sweet Potato *mashed with fork and scooped into measuring cup... To one cup of Flour.. I added Curry Powder, Onion Powder, salt/pepper.. It was Fantastic!!!! The All Purpose Flour had me Bloated, afterwards! I'm hoping this Paleo Flour will work!!! emoticon emoticon emoticon

Happy Sunday!!!

Went on a 5.5 mile walk with my sister today. It was nice to catch a break from the rain and walk outside!! Yaa-- Butternut Squash Soup for lunch made with coconut milk and sautéed onion's and bacon.. Soo delish!!! Staying W30 for a few days to rid the bloat from weekend experiment's with different bread/ Gluten. FAIL.. emoticon emoticon

I know what you mean, abt getting back to W30 for a Reset-- Seems like I'm resetting every other day... I've dedicated the whole month of October as Reintro Month... Soo many foods that are causing flare ups; Carbs/Gluten.. emoticon emoticon I'm taking in much less to see if I can find a happy balance.. Time will tell.. emoticon Friend!!!

I made vegan naan bread last night. It was two ingredients: Sweet Potato, and Flour. I added curry powder, onion powder, salt/pepper.. It tasted amazing!!!! I had it with pork ribs and veggies.. 1 sweet potato = 12 pcs of Naan bread.. Soo yumm-- However I got carried away and ate 3 pcs!!! and the Bloat was intense!! painful Bloat-... Gluten/ grain may have to be cut back or eliminated completely.. lol ugghh~

Sticking with Whole30 meals for the most part. I found out that Coconut Amino's doesn't sit well with my stomach!!!! Every time I've had shrimp I used the Amino's in the stir fry.. There may be hope for shrimp after all... I'm hopeful!! lol

After my chocolate cupcake bomb yesterday I didn't wake up with a headache!! Yaa-- had a Fantastic dinner last night Country Style Pork Steaks with loads of veggies cooked off in the oven, with steamed Acorn Squash.. Soo filling!! I'm glad that cupcake experience didn't put me in non stop craving trigger!!! It took several hours for the bloat and headache to go away.. My body was telling me to emoticon and I listened!! lol Wishing everyone a great weekend- Happy Friday emoticon

Today I thought Id introduce Sugar!!!! Wasn't craving it but I made homemade chocolate cupcakes for my son & lil cousins.. I had one.. OY- Stomach Bloat, headache's, & just overall tight feeling in my stomach was uncomfortable... B4 I cld take dwn 2 while standing in the kitchen waiting for them to cool.. lol I savored the one but I paid dearly 4 it- Sugar= FAIL..lol

I'm staying mainly Whole30 compliant as well. I just feel so much better. Crazy all the junk I used to eat and then wondered why I always felt gross and foggy.

Eating W30 just makes me feel better, I had two plain chicken hot dogs in the afternoon before dinner.. Not Good-- Bloating was really uncomfortable!! My husband made homemade mac and cheese for my son. I took one bite just to taste.. Delicious!!!! but my stomach was not having it.. meh- So I stick mainly to W30 foods for the most part, which is fine.. I'm not starving, or missing anything like sweets!! surprise!- Keep Pushing ahead-

Sam~ Happy Thanksgiving emoticon emoticon , A low key Thanksgiving is what were shooting for this year, it wasn't really planned that way until I mentioned that my Holiday would be a Paleo Thanksgiving!! lol It quickly changed from my house to my sisters!!.. I found a glorious Pumpkin Pie at blog "Elena's Pantry", I'm excited to try this becuasue I love Pumpkin Pie, and if I can make a Paleo version, even Better.

Marki- I agree, your taste really do change. Its been kinda Anti-Climatic introducing some old foods and it just not tasting the same!! like you mentioned you can taste the processed stuff in things, and the "hidden sugars"... lol

I'm eating Whole30 today after my stomach bloat from yesterday's 1 slice of homemade bread. It amazes me what I assumed as Normal before W30; stomach pains after meals, along with headache's, and irritability... I'm soo much calmer now!! lol

Well it's Thanksgiving here in Canada today!! emoticon My girls and their boyfriends will all be over this afternoon for dinner and games. We don't do the whole turkey thing - typically just something easy so we can all just spend the time together. Last year we did a Murder Mystery and pizza - this year it will be homemade sausages, scalloped potatoes and zucchini (with ice cream cake for dessert - but who really cares about ice cream cake....lol emoticon )

The last couple days have included some non-compliant meals but starting tomorrow I am back to at least three days of clean eating. I can feel some of the bloating returning and I want to stop it while I'm ahead

Marki - I was just saying to DH yesterday that everything tastes sweeter now....and not in a good way. Interesting what we learn from our bodies when we just listen

Hope - a 5 mile hike in the wind and rain sounds less than fun. But your meatloaf sounds yummy!!

Well off I go to clean the house....all so it can be destroyed in a couple hours....lol. emoticon

Wow! Congratulations on your W30 results! Great job on your reintroduction phase. You've both are really paying great attention to your bodies! What I noticed afterwards was that my taste buds have changed. I can smell and taste the chemicals in processed foods. Yuck! I love to cook now. And my perspective has changed. I eat a wide range of foods for breakfast/meal 1. Things that pre W30 I would have only eaten for lunch or dinner.

Its a Rainy, Windy Saturday and I'm trying to psyche myself up to go on a 5 mile hike with my sister today.. lol I made a meatloaf combined non compliant bratwurst, ground beef, a slice of homemade bread, egg, spices and herbs.. I ate it with 2 eggs over easy with a side of Kimchi.. Very tasty!! I'm hoping the probiotics of the kimchi helps my gut with the bread that was in the meatloaf.. lol-- so far soo good.. I will eat remainder of the day W30 to see how this goes!

Pasta for dinner was really good!!! I made a compliant W30 Tomato Sauce, and introduced Barilla Pasta.. I felt pretty good after I ate and had some stomach grumbling's but nothing to crazy!! HOWEVER- The next morning, I had a terrible headache, and felt very tired the good part of the morning! I slept for 8 hrs!! tho pasta/wheat gave me a bit of a headache, I will make note and maybe add smaller amts next time.. maybe- lol Zoodles may be it for me!!

Hope that sucks about the cheese. It's one of the first things I would like to add back as well. Even eggs (and I'm sick of eggs) are better with cheese.

Tonight I am re-introducing some wine. emoticon My first couple sips and I am feeling pretty fuzzy...lol.

Tomorrow is my last shift at work before 10 days off!! I am having a self-imposed stay-cation....can not wait!

Reintroduce Cheese: The Cauliflower Pizza Crust was delicious!!! I loved how it held up with all my awesome topping.. *YouTube: Chef Buck, Best Cauliflower Pizza Crust-- About 1.5 hrs after consuming this awesome pie, my Stomach started to churning, cramping,, I'm feeling the sweat coming on.. Oh Man!!!! I was really rooting for Cheese too. Before W30 I would take a Tums right after eating and deal with a lil discomfort,, burp all night and call it good... NO MORE.

Feeling better after my breakfast, I'm doing the Slow Your Roll Approach to Reintro. I will now eat W30 for 2 days to reset my system, and I will add Grains later this week.. Cheering for Lentils!!! emoticon

Day 2 of Reintroduction!! I was compliant for breakfast and lunch because I was eating my chicken curry soup for both those meals... For dinner I'm introducing Cheese!!! emoticon Cauliflower Pizza with Parm cheese made into the crust. apple chicken sausage, basil, tomato,olives, with Mozzarella cheese on top!!

Thanks Sam!! I know I had to keep looking down, and adjust my eye's at that 18 pound loss. I post a lot my food soo Girl you know I wasn't starving. Actually I never felt that way, I was always full from the meals we prepared. I ate a couple pcs of fruit a day, one always after my Walks. and another after dinner.. This was a Total Shock!! lol

Okay it's only day 30 but I weighed in and took my measurements today. Tomorrow is a super early work day for me and I won't have the time (or the gumption) to do it then. So here are my results.....drum roll please..... emoticon

Day 29!!! Just a few days left.. OMG I'm soo happy abt this. I really didn't find it too restrictive, it got me cooking again, and planning meals which I really love. My husband and I grew closer thru cooking and planning. He ate most of the food with me and lost weight!!! lol I will definitely do this again, I'm shooting for January after the holidays also!! I'm gonna start with Dairy and see how I do.. I'm bit anxious but onward and upwards!!! Here almost there ladies emoticon emoticon

Friday & Saturday...then it's DONE.

The majority of what I've really missed isn't unhealthy. My 2 main protein sources are usually black beans and plain Greek yogurt.

It's really not been bad. The biggest issue I've had is eating meat every meal. Usually I'll eat meat 3-5 meals a week on average. When I cook something in the crockpot, DH can eat just about all of the meat - I just want the broth!

I'm not sure what my first non-compliant food will be. I've thought about a turkey sandwich, made with toasted whole grain bread. Or maybe some vanilla ice cream.

I would definitely do this again. I've thought about doing another Whole 30 starting Jan 2 to get back to 'clean eating' after the holidays. Or maybe for Lent every year.

So we are literally three sleeps away from being done!! emoticon What is the first "off plan" food (or drink emoticon ) that you are going to try? I am feeling a little stressed out about reintroduction....what we are doing now seems so safe and comfortable. Baby steps I guess. Well off to find some tea. Night!

Day 28!!!! I'm really happy and proud that I've made it this far, especially keeping it on point last weekend with the Girls, at a casino hotel. lol- I'm looking forward to seeing what the scale says. emoticon .. It's the home stretch! Can't quite believe it!! Day 27! emoticon

Moved into a new weight "decade" today - the 150's!! And before you say anything I know you're not supposed to weigh yourself until the 30 days are over but I'm a part of a challenge on SP (that really helps keep me accountable and on track) and it requires I weigh in every Wednesday. So anyways......eek!!!!! emoticon

Day 26 here too! I start ten days of holidays on October 5th so I am thinking that I will just keep going on plan until then and use the time off for re-introduction...not entirely sure yet.

So weird that the 30 days is almost over. 4 days left!!

Day26!!!! Feeling a lil bloated yesterday, may be the shrimp from night before. I'm gearing up for my Reintroduction phase. Planning meals, and keeping my diet journals as detailed as possible. its been a great reference these past couple weeks.

Day25!!! Feeling soo sore after my hike on Saturday. Processing all this new information abt my diet and the effects it has on my health.. Shrimp has been a sad eye opener for me during W30. I had it 3X's over the past month, and my stomach cramped up soo bad. I usually eat it in a heavy cream sauce over pasta. I would go thru the same issues, but just thought it was just Dairy. NOPE,, it was a double Whamee with Dairy & Shrimp.. Wa-Wa- emoticon

5 days left!! Where did the time go?!?

Feeling boated the last couple days - wonder if it could be the beef and potatoes I have been eating?? Didn't really eat either during my last round and certainly didn't feel this way. Might plan a "light" day today and see how I feel tomorrow

Day 22!! Feeling Great, had a Fantastic Rib Eye steak last night with grilled mushrooms, and steamed broccoli.. I'm surprised I haven't been eating a lot of meat, during Whole 30. I was able to mix in a good variety of food however I am getting DONE with Eggs!!!! lol Surprisingly more Vegetarian Meals have been an awesome change...

Day 20!!!! OMG I remember thinking It's gonna be soo hard... 10 days left and I still can't believe I made it this far. I would always here people say, "Food should be looked at as Fuel for our bodies". That saying never really clicked with me until I was doing W30. Now when I'm hungry my first thought isn't Where is the nearest Fast Food? or Do I have any cookies left?.. My thought process is now, AM I really hungry? Am I bored?, Thirsty, Stressed,,, it's usually BORED or STRESSED... Nothing to do with food... Food is no longer the comfort, the void filler. It is FUEL..

I'm the same in the morning. Sometimes I look at the clock and it's like 10am and I haven't even thought about food. Weird because 19 days ago I would have been gnawing off someone's arm by that time. Lol

Yeah eggs have grown old but I am still eating them. Lol. Same breakfast every day...a one egg (yes very tiny) veggie omelette with two turkey patties. Meh.

Tonight I made a sheet pan dinner with chicken, brussel sprouts, potatoes and apple....it was pretty good.

Day 18 feels lighter and thinner. No complaints here!!

At work today we celebrated "Donut Day" (as if that's really a thing...lol) and I wasn't even tempted!! Crazy!!

DH made flax seed crusted chicken strips for dinner toight - they were amazing. I'm really enjoying trying all the new recipes!!

Day 14!! I'm feeling bloated today as I'm nearing my menstrual cycle which is tolerable. What's soo different this month is I'm not SUPER BLOATED!!! Every month like clock work I crave sweets around this time. I work them into my plan, or go a little lax cuz its "That Time".. I'm not craving sweets!!!! I don't have crazy mood swings. I believe those high's & low's were from the Sugar and not the PMS! The sweetness from fruit has satisfied my sweet tooth.. This is soo interesting..

Day 13!!! I was dreading this week because I'm PMS'ing and I have to say, I'm not Foaming at the mouth for sweets, and Mint Milano cookies!!! I only eat cookies the week of Menstruation. I allow myself 2-3 cookies a day until they are gone.. NO CRAVINGS!!! WTF.. OMG This is Game Changer..lol I bought a Dutch Oven yesterday,,so glad I found the last one on sale for 50% off. Braised chicken with veggies was Amazing..

Ditto on the day 11. Weird thing happened today. It was dinner time and I forgot!! I had a late lunch and wasn't hungry at my normal dinner time. So instead of just eating to eat I actually listened to my body. Progress!!!

Had meatballs in homemade tomato sauce and brussel sprouts tonight - delicious!

Tiger Blood should be right around the corner!!

Day 11.. Bought Pork Belly, and put in Pressure Cooker with some aromatics, for abt 25 mins, let it rest, then cut pieces up and Pan Seared in Hot pan with Ghee.. Served with Veggies and left over Plantain Fried Rice!!! Delish. Not having crazy evening munchies. WOW!!!
