Fear and Apathy are both things that cause me to not be active. WE were made to live lif not just be spectators. Inaction causes us to get stuck and stay stuck in bad attitudes and with bad habits longer.

For me depression is anger turned inwards, but the anger is actually a mask for fears I don't think I can face.

Action is a great restorer and builder of confidence. Inaction is not only the result, but the cause, of fear. Perhaps the action you take will be successful; perhaps different action or adjustments will have to follow. But any action is better than no action at all.

Norman Vincent Peale

I thought this was an interesting quote. Although, even when we aren't doing something, we are still, on one level, active. He is right though, I think, when he says that inaction is a result of fear and....even though he doesn't say this ... depression.

I've always been told that depression is anger turned inwards. Maybe it's not just anger though.
