Yeah - I don't think chocolate cake is a bad food.

I thought the responses were interesting though.

I would not say guilt, but I might say pleasurable.

I recently posted from a friend's blog about food. She called it sustenance. Eating can be and should be a celebration of having enough sustenance for our bodies, eating with friends and family is social and emotional sustenance and being grateful for the food is spiritual sustenance.

Lost 65 lbs and maintained since 2006.

That is because so many see food as the enemy instead of what it is, nurshment for the body and healthy food keeps the body happy. The French have a different outlook on meals than Americans. They seem to have a healthier diet than Americans. I personally do not eat a lot of the American staple foods at all. I do not feel quilt when I induge is something rick and deculent as I do not do this very often so I enjoy every morsal.

Keep on track

“He showed the words “chocolate cake” to a group of Americans and recorded their word associations. “Guilt” was the top response. If that strikes you as unexceptional, consider the response of French eaters to the same prompt: “celebration.”
