Oh no, I understand what you are saying. Why would God have a gender? Especially since gender is about differentiation and I think .... each of our unique expression of that differentiation and eventual reconciliation with 'the other'. While I think God is about the whole, and has so many aspects, and so many faces that it defies comprehension.

Of course that is only my own understanding.

I did find this quote a little limiting.

Many years ago Bill Moyers did a great series with Joseph Campbell. Campbell used the metaphor of a computer and software to discuss this issue. We all a wired a bit differently and so the software.... God = he or God/Universe genderless, or we are one.... that works in one many not work in another.

I guess I can't see God/the Universe, whatever as gendered. That seems too small somehow. I do love thinking about all the possibilities and help and calls for help that can be out there. I don't know if I'm being coherent at all...

"I have always been sort of quiet and kept my thoughts to myself. I have looked to the 'man upstairs' and he has provided the answer" ~ Phyllis Elliott

I will ask God to help me with the easy as well as the hard decisions I face today. Relying on god will make my life much more serene.

......Okay...... I am quiet but not really one to keep my thoughts to myself. I'm not sure I really LOVE this quote although .... I get what it is trying to say .... maybe I am feeling a little political today because it is remarkable to me that this is a quote from a woman ..... But ... will give it the thought and consideration it deserves and try to have an open mind.
