I like to read more on Zen.

Yes, I agree that Zen sounds like mindful living and it is with the addition of not distinguishing between yourself and the objects you use.... eg. the bow shoots the arrow, not you.

Sounds a lot like Mindful Living. Focusing on the here and now and not allowing distractions in. Paying attention to the moment, living in the present?

Zen is all but impossible to describe... those who "know' it believe it must be experienced. The most succinct idea I can offer is that it is about being in the moment and letting all boundaries dissolve.

I may read Zen in the Art of Archery next - I've heard good things about it. Each day I have some time for what I call "Soul Reading". I've been working my way through the books of Jack Kornfield, whom I love. I only read a little section each day, because I find that's all my brain can really absorb in terms of "big picture" kind of books.

Snow Falling on Cedars is something I want to read and still haven't.

Happy Sunday!

Haven't read a book in a while, haven't had time to sit and concentrate in silence. However, I can certainly tell you what two of my favorite books are from some time ago...RACING IN THE RAIN and SNOW FALLING ON CEDARS. Both of these left enough empact on me to remember them. I am getting ready to read SIX YEARS by Harlan Coben.

I'm not sure what Zen is - at least NOT REALLY - I think the word is used a lot without having a complete understanding of it these days - maybe Zen doesn't mind that. LOL

What was the name of the book you just finished?

I TRUST THE PROCESS OF LIFE

There is a rhythm and flow to life, and I am part of it. Life supports me and brings to me only good and positive experiences. I trust the process of life to living me my highest good.
