I don't follow Spark Meals myself - I eat fairly simply and don't want to spend a lot of time preparing/cooking.

I have used it more as a guideline, or for ideas, but I haven't really followed it daily. I know many have, and have had much success!! emoticon

Hi I have been reading the posts and just signed up for spark coach. I was wondering if anyone has had any success with following spark meal plans. Sometimes I think it would be easier to track. I just gotta get started..

Sorry I have been MIA for the last few days. We had a full house of family! It was fun but exhausting. They are all gone now :(( Makes me sad, but that means I am back to my Spark Family now :)

That's what it is all about. Keep trying, keep making changes until it becomes a habit.

I am not exactly sure of my order, but I cut things like:
fast food
sweets
breads
sweet tea
soda
veggie oils

Now that doesnt mean a special occasion doesnt come up now and then, but these things have no place in my day to day life anymore. I do not keep it in my house, so nothing "calls my name" from the kitchen. We are NOT on a first name basis emoticon

Good morning, team!

Tracking even when we aren't "on plan" is a great step. No one is perfect and it's best when we can acknowledge it and then move on.

All the small steps will eventually add up to success.

Sounds like you have a great plan!

I had started by making small changes also. W/O really much effort, I lost 20lbs. Then I started getting more serious, started tracking, and that really opened my eyes.

Then I learned which foods made me feel more full, which ones left me more hungry, which ones make me gain 3lbs and 3inches of bloat almost immediately (wheats, excess sodium, etc)

Hi team, well I have been struggling to get started but am feeling more positive now. I have realised that I cant do a proper 'diet' as it brings on my binges if I break the diet so instead I am concentrating more on getting healthy, getting in my freggies and water and sorting out my exercise. I am going to keep an eye on my calories and try to get them down to my range. At the moment I am eating way above my range so it may take a while to gradually knock it down but I am feeling that this is going to be a long journey so there is no rush so long as every day I am heading in the right direction!!

I am shocked at how many calories I can eat without even really being aware of it. For example today I opened the fridge at 10.30 to get some milk out and there in front of me were 4 cold sausages that I thought my hubbie had taken to work. So what did I do...... Instead of eating my apple which was planned for my snack I took them out, grabbed a pizza dip I had and ate them instead!!!!!

Usually I would try and pretend that I hadn't eaten them but today I decided to be honest to myself and track them..... 669 calories!!!!!!!

It is things like this that I do all the time and don't realise how many calories I am eating. And it wasn't even healthy.

The one thing I am proud of however is that this would usually lead me to feel that I had broken my diet so I may as well binge eat for the rest of the day and start again tomorrow but I havnt, I have come on spark and I am going to put it behind me and carry on the rest of the day as planned

Abit nervous because my son has a friend coming round for dinner today so I have stocked up on cakes and biscuits etc and they are going to have pizza. Usually I would end up eating loads of it too so I am going to really have to be strong later!! Wish me luck

.....Opens door, peeks inside, hears crickets......I'm beginning to think I'm the only one on this "Team"....

I had a great day yesterday. I surprised myself in seeing I attained well over 12,000 steps for the day. I also was surprised at how sore I was! Today I have some sewing to do this morning and then it's outdoors...I'm making a new flower bed in the front yard and that will be fun. I've been doing some research about what plants Deer won't eat and hope that the info was right! I get a bit tired of buying/planting only to have the Deer eat them overnight!

I hope everyone has a great day...be good to yourself.

Welcome SheSaid! I agree, if we focus on the neg. things that will take us down for sure. My Mom always told me "there is something positive in EVERY situation, if you can't see it your not looking hard enough"!

Started the Spark Solution this morning and am really stoked about that. I had to jump on the scale to make sure I had a starting weight and was totally shocked that I have already lost 4 pounds....just since this past Thursday when I started SP! If that doesn't motivate me nothing will! And while I fully realize that kind of weight loss will not happen each week it was still just a delight to see this morning! Have a great day Team!

Hi, everyone. I, too, am feeling much better about myself, and my body is saying thanks! And it hasn't been a full week yet! I went to church this morning and the Pastor's message was so encouraging, and everyone could appreciate it.

He was talking about how we keep hanging on through the bad times. Paul suggested focusing on what is good, awesome, sweet, worthy of praise. You see, even in the bad times, there is always something good happening. We just need to see it!

This will help me in this process, I think, because I know there will be bad times that will prevent me from logging in, or eating the right foods, or exercising. But, I only have to remember the good times, the better sleep, the feeling of satisfaction I had in the past, and THAT can pull me through the bad times. And even that is something good that's happening!

Happy Mother's Day everybody!

I had such a fantastic day yesterday. I took a 3 mile walk in the morning and completely enjoyed seeing the Spring flowers up and in bloom in the woods along my route. Didn't see any Deer yesterday but hoping there is now enough for them to eat in the woods/meadows so they leave my garden along! When I got up one morning and realized they had eaten ALL of my tulips I about lost my mind. I looked a my DH and said "now I know why they shot Bambi's mother". Gardening when you back up to an oak forest has it's challenges!

I dug out my old FitBit, got it set up and wore it all day. I was suprised to see I attained over 11,000 steps yesterday, that was really a motivator for me! I hope you all have a great Mother's Day and to those that don't have children remember all the times you talked to a child, listened to a teen or just helped someone...your nurturing was/is as important as anything a "mother" does! You may never how those moments you took may of affected someone's life! Happy Mother's Day to you too!

I did it before and lost almost 150 pounds but I let life's nonsense get in the way and gained back all but 20 pounds. I am going to get all the way to goal this time, no matter how long it takes.

I see you bought the Spark Solution. I am going to start a thread for this time to share thoughts about the challenge.

Good morning!
Quite foggy here in Missouri this morning, hoping the sun will burn off the fog soon! I'm going to be creating a new flower bed today now that the rain has stopped. Hopefully the Deer won't discover it and munch their way through my new plantings. They have made short work of some of my plants on the patio this Spring already!

I've done this program before and had much success with it but lacked the personal caring to see it through and adopt it as a "lifestyle" and not a diet. I know I'll do it this time because I'm going at it from a different angle. I use to obsess about the scale and allowed myself to get worked up if it didn't move. This time that isn't going to happen. If I know I'm working hard to change my life and working hard to make this something that will carry me through the rest of my life then it will do nothing less than improve my health and well being for the long haul. It's all about perception and visualization. I know I can do it, I know I will do it and I know this will be my life from now on. It's liberating when those thoughts finally "click" and you get it.....sorry for the long paragraph, just thinking out loud this morning! Have a great Saturday everyone, get out doors and do something fun!

Good morning all! Start of day 2 for me and it was so nice to wake up this morning feeling good because I treated myself well yesterday. Cloudy here on the lake and a bit of rain....but to have these beautiful shades of green in grass, leaves and plants we need a little rain! Kinda like life, we need some rainy days to appreciate the sunny ones! I hope you all have a wonderful day....do something special for yourself today! emoticon

Evening everyone. New here...just got through day 1 and am surprised I'm not famished. I was very careful and tracked everything, it's in your face when you track that really is going to be a huge motivator for me. I got hungry after mowing the lawn (push mower, not a rider) and would of normally reached for a bag of chips and a coke but didn't today. This morning I put small containers with "snacks" in them to grab if I got hungry so I grabbed a 1/2 an apple sliced up and a lite cheese stick and a huge glass of ice water with lemon, that did the trick.

I'm hopeful but will not be doing any long range goal setting yet, I need to get a week or so under my belt before I start looking at "the big picture". I'm just planning on taking one step, one meal and one day at a time until I get comfortable with it all.

So today is day 2 and I'm so sore. Decided to skip the gym to let my body rest, but I'll be back at it tomorrow. I'm not doing perfect on my diet, but I'm doing well. I haven't slipped (except for the 2 chips I had before realizing what I was doing and walking away).

Hello Y'all!!

As far as shopping, protein is the most satiating for me. Potatoes are cheap and can be quit satiating so long as I don't load them down. Seems like when I load them down, the satiating power is diminished.

I would rather buy grass fed, but can't always. I think my local small town grocer does a decent job in the meat department, and if I can get there early enough, like shortly after they open, I can get the mark downs that are half price, and still within a few days of being expired. Then I freeze it.

I also have a Dutch market that is about 17 miles away, but worth the trip. Good produce, great buys on other items, sort of like a bent & dent. There is also a produce auction but I have to buy in large quantities and be ready to work it up before it goes bad.

As I got a grip on my carbs, my hunger went down. I cut out processed junk, cut out fast food, cut out sugar, cut out wheat - so the foods that are left, are very satiating and overall my food bill has gone down - and so has my waist line!! emoticon

I tend to buy frozen fruits and vegetables a lot. It's only me and my DH and he doesn't eat many of either. If I buy too much fresh I wind up throwing it out and I can't afford that. You can get these things frozen and prepared with no salt in the case of vegetables and no sugar with the fruit.
