Good luck on your races. Once you are able to complete the 5K, the others will follow. Most of distance running is all mental, so jumping from a 5K to a 10K is not that bad.

I started following a paleo diet and doing a Boot Camp workout a couple times a week and am now down 13 pounds in a month and a half.

I have a 16 mile trail race this weekend and a 1/2 marathon the next. I was prepared for them, but now I think I have shingles, which might complicate things. Going to the doctor today to see if it is really shingles. Regardless I will be doing my races, it just might make them more challenging.

Hi every one
I have been doing a lot of running this Spring. We have a few runs coming up that I would love to be able to run. Of course a person does not have to run the entire distance, but my goal is to be able to run the entire distance. I signed up for the 10 K and a 5 k as well. I have been going tot he gym 2 days a week with a goal of adding one more day and to dance with Shawn T at least 2 times a week. I ordered the CIZE program. I have done a couple of the CDs and love them. I can not do all the moves, but it sure is fun and a great work out.

That is it.
I hope everyone is having great Spring weather.

A 2,000 weekly calorie burn sounds like a lot but breaking it down that 300 calories a day. I have dusted off my exercise bike and I am committed to burning at least 300 calories per day between now and the new year as 'practice' for this challenge :-)

Morning All!!
Still combating my food craving late at night. I've started cutting my favorite root veggies in bite size pieces and keeping them at the front of my refrigerator so they're the first thing I see.
I'm also trying to find a LOW-sugar, LOW fat frozen sweet treat to replace my full fat ice cream/yogurt cravings. Some low fat frozen yogurts have over 16 grams of sugar per serving-Danger!
Have a super week-end!

Hi everyone. Yesterday was not one of my best eating days, but I have made sure that on the other days I ate fruits and vegetables. I want to learn how to prepare new healthier recipes. Of course tasty as well. Its hard to stick to eating healthier when you dislike what your eating. For snacks I get walnuts and almonds. I also love the fiber one cereal bars and brownie. This is how I keep myself from eating the unhealthy snacks. Today I will be eating healthy. Go team! :0)

I wish you all well. I'm having a sort of typical week - eat well early when there's good food from my weekend batch cooking, and then collapse into quick snacks, waffles for dinner, that sort of thing at the end of the week. So I've done some good substitutions this week: hot Tazo Passion tea tonight when I was tempted to drink hot chocolate; took a bowl of oatmeal to nuke at work when I was running late and tempted to stop for bagel sandwich on the way in (not only saves calories but saves about $3!); and tonight I made a labor intensive collards recipe instead of giving in to the fact that there is nothing in the ridge from this weekend. And after dinner I will brush my teeth so I'm not tempted to keep snacking.

Wish you all well, and thanks for the challenge

Rebecca

@THE_SHAKESHAFT Fasting can be tough. It's all mental. I do hope that you find the strength to stick to your plan for today and tomorrow. You can do it!

@3G1RLS4ME I totally understand. I would kill to see 155. lol But I think even just eating properly for these next 60 days (or at least most of those days) will get us to where we want to be. Stay strong!

Day 5 into the challenge and instead of being around 155 lbs I'm at 164.8 lbs ;) that's a very depressing number for me because it means that I am further away from my optimal weight :( but I made an egg and fresh spinach scramble so I know that's a step in the right direction. Will try to do better this next week

Personally, I think I will weigh fairly frequently - I realize there are daily fluctuations - I can deal with that. But it just keeps me more focused.

And, now, some night time yoga.

No. Weighing in isn't necessarily required, though I would advise it every 1-2 weeks. I personally weigh myself every Sunday around 5:30 in the afternoon.

I COMPLETELY understand being afraid. I had gone up this past week about 3 lbs and I nearly lost it! lol But I do think it's best to be completely honest with yourself. However, if you want to do the challenge for a couple of weeks and then weigh in, then that's completely fine also!

Thank you very much for the kind words and motivation. emoticon And yes! I absolutely agree that the challenge is not to be perfect, but to make healthier food choices and increase activity. For me, I know I can do better. I am doing well by making good food choices, which is why I'm not beating myself up. I just know that evening snacking has always been a tough obstacle for me, so that is one of the things I hope to improve with this challenge!

Sweetie - the goal of this challenge is to focus on making healthier choices for 60 days - it's not to be perfect for 60 days. When you expect perfection from yourself, you will fail every time.

What I see from you is someone who will be healthier (and, probably weigh less) in 60 days. And I am really sure you can and will do that.

Hey guys!!! *sigh*

I hate to be posting this message, but I need to be honest with you all and myself. Since Sunday, I have gone over my calorie count each day. I have still been losing weight because of the increase in fruits and veggies; however, you can imagine that I'm not too thrilled with myself. (I don't know, maybe it'll be better once spring break is over.)

Guess when I mess up?! AT DINNER. Breakfast, lunch and snacks are always carefully planned and healthy. But once dinner comes, I eat what's planned and then munch here and there after I've eaten.

I'm NOT going to beat myself up. I AM going to do better, starting today!! I will mostly post pictures of my dinner as blogs.

Long story short, if you have any weak points, try to spot them quickly and make adjustments.

(P.S. If you're looking at my food/exercise logs, my cheat days will either be Tuesdays or Wednesdays if I feel that it's needed)
