Eileen, yes my tomatoes are growing in leaps and bounds and the plants are full of blossoms which means more tomatoes forming...I am on the sunny side of street so it helps I think as all my plants and veggies herbs do well...I would love to see a picture of your kitty, I'm sure he is ever so cute even though they can be mischievious...so much fun they are, but admit sometimes mine gets the best of me... emoticon Hope you have a great weekend..

Cheering the whole team on your journey, I encourage you to keep tracking your food and eat better to stay healthy...Add more fresh veggies and fruits and plan ahead with menu's which all help in your quest for a healthier lifestyle...We are in this together, let's do it..

Judith - It sounds as if your tomatoes are far ahead of mine. I do have a few small ones starting to form and blossoms on three different kinds of tomatoes, but it will be awhile before I can harvest any. I do have lettuce, kale and swiss chard that is getting ready to pick. I have been debating picking some of it for a mixture of steam greens tonight.

My kitten continues to be a terror, but I must say she probably isn't as bad as her brother who was kept by my daughter and grandson. My daughter posted on Facebook this morning that their kitten had just bitten her wedding ring and swallowed one of the sapphires that was on it. Hopefully it doesn't cause the kitten harm as it was one of the smaller stones, but also that she might be able to retrieve the stone with diligence.

I hope everyone is having a good day. It is beautiful here after the soaking rain we got yesterday.

Woke up this morning about 5:00 am when a clap of thunder had the kitten jumping straight into the air, and flying off the bed. We so desperately need the rain that even the thunder was welcome. It has furnished some much needed moisture to my raised beds for my veggies. I have lettuces, kale and chard almost ready to pick. I also have tiny summer squash which I am watching closely to make sure they don't get too big.

Hope everyone is having a good day.

Today is sunny at the present time, but there is a prediction of showers for later. The weatherman did make the comment that most of the rain will be at night. We need rain so desperately that I will take it whenever it occurs.

LIVELYGIRL2 - It sounds like you tried the coiling method of basket construction, and I must say that that is not easy. I know how to coil, but it looks like to long and tedious process for me. I much prefer the rib style and splint woven methods myself.

Judith, I hope you are continuing to feel better. Please take the time you need to heal, I am praying for you.

I'm sorry to hear this complication about the surgery. I do know several that have had lousy affects from several various surgeries.

The basket thing sounds interesting. I do have too much things going on now, but maybe later. I also tried that one in which they cover rope and wrap it. It may have come out good if I didn't upholstery fabric slips.

Eileen, thanks for your kindness as always, I have had a few set-backs after surgery, written the details below for you and others to read...

Hello Everyone,

Below will give you an idea what I have been dealing with this past week, what is good now, I am doing better today with no more blood clots passing pain under control and no more vomiting with more solids added to diet as I tolerate...

emoticon for your prayers, love and support...

Friday I went into hospital in severe pain and breathing issues, was dehydrated too, was told I had blood clots lodged in the ureter which was in the process of passing. They got my pain under control and was sent home.

Saturday, By about 12 noon I began to have breathing issues again and was very dehydrated and was in severe pain, had another trip into the hospital emergency....Doctors said it wasn't uncommon to have all the issues with a kidney after having the kind of surgery I had on Tuesday but feel I should be alright now, I was sent home with enough meds to tie me over for a few days to bring the pain level down, blood clots are finally under control, which I thank God. Thank you for your ongoing prayers...they are so appreciated!

I so appreciate your love, friendship and support... God Bless you all, Judith emoticon

LIVELYGIRL2 - Should you ever want to try basket weaving and picked up a kit, I would help you as much as i can for this distance. I could explain terms, etc. or tell you where to find tutorials to help you. Hope you try it if your are interested.

Judith- I am still praying for you. Since I haven't seen you on here recently, I hope your absence is because you have become quite busy rather than not feeling well enough.

LIVELYGIRL2 - I have done baskets for over 30 years and it can be as easy or as complicated as you want to make them. I usually start my students with an easy and inexpensive basket so that they can try and see if they enjoy weaving. I have some excellent "students" who have woven with me for at least 20 years. Others have tried it once and decided it is not for them. Not everyone has the same abilities. As to cost depending on where the material is purchased it can be expensive, but I buy my material wholesale-mostly, and shop for the best prices.
Hope you get a chance to try weaving sometime. There are also some kits available which are not too expensive and have all materials needed with adequate instructions. However, to follow any directions you would need a basic understanding of the terms.
Eileen

Another beautiful day here. The days are becoming quite hot, but so far the nights have been cool so it is good sleeping weather. I watched the end of a ballgame last night that did not end until midnight. Fortunately I had dozed through parts of the game, and only saw the exciting ending. Nevertheless, I had a kitten playing on the bed before 5:00 this morning, so feel that I didn't get a full nights sleep. I have a late afternoon basket class today, so hopefully I won't be totally exhausted before its over.

Have a great day everyone.

I also lost one activity tracker so now I have mine on a "leash", but even with that it fell off my pocket. Fortunately I was at home and knew exactly what I had done since the last time it had off loaded onto my page. I found it behind my vehicle where I had unloaded the gas can for the lawn mowers.

I have gotten the lawns mowed finally. It has gotten hot here so I am glad I did it today rather than wait until the weekend, since the weatherman says it will be even hotter then.

Have a great weekend everyone.

I lost my Spark activity tracker, but have managed to keep this one, I also used one of those kids rubber bands and knots to keep it stationary.

Thanks for the gracious note and thoughts. Somebody gets it, ... Right now four neighbors are moving. They purchased their property and remodel and double the rent. We will also have to leave by next year for the same reason.

LIVELYGIRL2 - I will pray for your mom as well. It is hard to live in today's society when it takes so much money just for the necessities. I am on a fixed income and find it hard, but I do have some backup accounts and am able to grow a lot of my veggies during the summer.

I need to mow lawns today and hope that this exercise does not cause my back to go into spasm again. I could not do any exercise yesterday and I had pushed much too hard on Wednesday.. I had loaded a very heavy box of kitty litter into my shopping cart. When I got home even though I was having problems, I still did a walking video to try and keep my step count streak going. As it turned out my tracker had fallen off my pocket as I was unloading my vehicle and the video was entered on the tracker page--streak lost. I had made the muscle spasms worse and could not do anymore. Yesterday I spent the day using a massage wand I have and applying heat so that I think I am much better today.

Hope everyone has a great day.

As I said previously, I'm glad I was nudged to come and visit. Judith, I will pray for you today.

I know your a prayer warrior and passionate lover of our Lord.

I would appreciate some prayer for my Mom Vivian. I am having a sale of her jewelry again this Saturday. They want to evict her, if we can't get her in in skilled nursing, she is out of monies, mostly. I wish she didn't have to stressed about all this. I pray she can stay there as long as possible. She wants to live independently, with our help.

She thinks she knows the Lord, but it's her conditions and beliefs.

Evening Hello Team,

I had my surgery yesterday and it was successful in which I thank God. I felt and sensed the prayers of everyone, emoticon all who prayed...

Surgeon told me the kidney stone was very large and hard, no wonder I was in such pain for so long. I appreciate all your patience with the many times I was absent on our team and for the late posts here as I have signed in so very late in evening a lot of my days.

I need your ongoing prayers as today I have has a lot of pain and have some bleeding issues which is normal for this type of surgery. I also have a stent that I remove on Friday.

In the meantime with my limited time here on Spark know I stand with you and cheer you on your journey. Let's Spark On Together emoticon emoticon emoticon

Today doesn't look like June outside, nor does it feel like it. We have had a mixture of sun and clouds--mostly clouds that look like rain is imminent, and the temperature is cool enough to require a light jacket. I did note that my raised beds are starting to look like I will have some fresh veggies soon. Some of the kale is starting to develop second leaves, and love them when they are small and tender.

I hope everyone's is having nice weather today.

After attending a graduation party/birthday party yesterday, I find that I am tired today. I do not often drive the interstate and find the tension of it tiring. I did enjoy the party though, and the dog got plenty of attention from a couple of young girls. One of them loves animals and no longer has a dog so she was quick to volunteer to watch Pixie. Pixie loved every second of the walks, belly rubs and general snuggles that she got.

Today is going to be a quiet day for me as soon as I get my workout video finished.
Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Judith - It soulnds like your cat is still young enough to enjoy playing. My older cat has been forced to tolerate the kitten, and I have found them batting at each other on occasion. I think, however, that the older cat is just try to keep the kitten in line rather than playing with her. The dog wants no part of the kitten when she is playing. I think she is afraid that she might either get hooked with a claw, or get blamed for something she didn't do.

I will be going to a graduation party some distance from home today, and the dog will go with me. It probably will be an outdoor party sort of like a cookout, but at any rate, she will be welcome and there will be some younger children there who like to walk her on her leash. I just have to remember to take her stake out chain which screws into the lawn. I don't look forward to the long drive, but do enjoy being with the people. Right now it is a sunny day, but it is expected to cloud up later.

Hope everyone's weekend is off to a good start.

Eileen, sounds like a great idea with the socks for your kitty, my kitty sure loves playing and has mega toys but like yours she too tires of them and looks for new ones, her favorites are feather type toys on a end of a stick and loves bouncy balls, she actually jumps up in the air and catches them, she is almost like a puppy dog...hehe...Glad you are having some sunny weather....we began our day with cloudy skies and rain showers, now the sun just came out.

Hope you all have a great day and weekend ahead, as always I cheer you on your journey, keep pushing and keep up the great work Team.... emoticon

It is a beautiful sunny day here, but there is a north wind blowing that makes it extremely cold for June. I lit the kitchen stove this morning and have burning some of the bark that is covering my front lawn. Since it is necessary to get rid of it in some manner, it seem that I might as well get heat in the process. It is a perfect fuel for this time of year, as it burns relatively fast so that once the house gets warm, I can stop putting more bark into the stove and the fire dies down quickly.

I will have to go out and clean up a couple more pails full of it today, but eventually I will have a lawn again (I hope).

I have found a perfect toy for the kitten--since she is such a terror and gets sick of her toys fast, like any child--I have started rolling old socks individually into balls. She carries them around in her mouth or attacks them until she has unrolled the ball. These toys are saving my hands from her bites and scratches.

Hope everyone is having a good day.

Judith - It looks like your group appreciates all you do as much as this team does.

I have just finished mowing the lawns (again) and have put on a pot of rhubarb sauce. it has been so long since I have cooked any rhubarb, but since I have it growing--four big clumps of it-- on my property, I thought for once I would have some to eat. Will try not to put too much sweetener in it, but I am afraid it will need some.

Hope everyone is having a great day.

Judith, right now I have a very sweet baby curled up in my lap purring. This is the same kitten who was bound and determine she was going to bite my hands and dig her toenails into them. (I know she was just trying to play with them in her kitten way, but it sure did hurt.) It is going to take a bit of work to turn her into the lovable kitten I know she will be eventually. Your cat sounds like what I am aiming for. We have had a bit more rain this morning with a possibility of more later today. Right now it mostly sunny, but there is a prediction of thundershowers toward evening. I would like the rain, but I do not like thundershowers. My farm or close to it, has been hit by lightning a couple of times since I have lived here. At least I don't still have the huge maple tree that was hit during the night quite a few years ago.

Hope everyone is having a great day.

Eileen, your fur-babies sound so cute, they are such a blessing to have, I have a young cat too well not as young as yours but she is 2 years, a sweet girl but does get into mischief too but she is so loving, she pats me on the face and snuggles up to me for heaps of attention... Happy you got the rain you were needing...hope the field gets more watering...as for us we are in a heat wave, 90's and high 80's...heaps of sunny skies too...have a great day and rest of your week my friend... emoticon

Judith at the present time I have three fur-babies. One dog, who will be 7 years old this summer, an adult cat, which is around 10 years old, and a kitten who is about three months old. They are all loving animals who I am hoping will develop into a threesome. At this point the dog is very comfortable with the older cat (actually quite good buddies), but is very wary of the kitten. I believe she thinks the kitten will get her into trouble since right now the kitten is constantly getting into places where she doesn't belong.

We finally got the soaking rain that we needed although I noticed that the field did not have any standing puddles early this morning. I don't believe the ground was excessively saturated, and we probably need more rain quite soon. Usually after rain as heavy as last night there are still puddles early in the morning, and that was not the case at 5:30 this morning. It is now a really beautiful sunny day.

Hope everyone's week is off to a good start.

Love the picture of the dig and cat in the hammock. It reminds me of the antics of my three (one dog, and adult cat and a kitten). The kitten is not afraid of anything and the older animals have taken her torments in stride, but occasionally the dog looks at me with sad eyes as if to say, "can't you do something about her?" They certainly are entertaining.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend. He have heavy rains predicted for later today, and we certainly need the rain.

It is a gray, overcast day here on the rather cool side. So far no rain which we could use, but the weatherman has said that we should get a good soaking later Sunday. Since I wanted to give the dog a bath, have an overabundance of tree bark "decorating my front Lawn, and the fact that it is so cool, I decided to light the kitchen woodstove and burn some of the bark. The heat does feel good. The dog is now bathed, and I am relaxing before starting the clean house.

I did get the lawns mowed yesterday, and used some of the clippings to mulch around the pepper, squash and tomato plants. Once other veggies are up I will mulch them as well. I did notice this morning that I have what I believe is kale starting to break ground.

Right now, I have a kitten in my lap trying to convince me it is play time. She is so cute that it is hard to resist her, but I find that her teeth and claws are sharp and she has a tendency to bite, I do give her different toys to play with but at times my hands are her toys of choice.

Hope everyone is going to have a great weekend.
Eileen

Thank you, Judith for your encouragement as always. Hopefully your surgery will make the difference for you.

Got my last few plants in the ground yesterday, but didn't get the lawns mowed. That has got to be done today since we have rain predict for tomorrow. We do desperately need the rain so hope the forecast is right. Need to get busy soon.

A new month and hopefully a better idea of what I must do to stay on track. I have been very disappointed with my yo-yoing recently and am going to try harder.

Hope everyone gets off to a great start this month. I hopefully will get my last few plants into the ground today, and then get the lawns mowed once again.
