I wish I could literally give ya a hug emoticon . I assume you are far away in another state. I sure would be thrilled to meet a Spark person in actual life.

I do know about your frustration because I have observed these kind of things dozens of times by those I know. The only thing I can say is: 1. DON"T GIVE UP!!!

2. if it doesn't work eventually, try something else ( like differant plan of exercise and food, adjust ones exercise or mix it up

3. Get a coach or accountiblity partner/ friend/ others to support you

4. Treat yourself sometimes in some manner

5. Don't beat yourself up . It's ok to scream, and express the annoying real

6. Read a pile of stories here about those who have done it and all those motivational quotes

7. Pray, if you believe in this resource

8. Look at what you HAVE accomplished, not what isn't happening yet

9. You are ahead of thousands, because you are taking action. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

My shoulder is available in needed (virtually) for you to cry on, but seriously DO NOT GIVE UP! The scales can be very fickle. You could be retaining water (are you watching you sodium intake?) or any number of reasons for being up on a given day. Just keep watching what you eat, the quantity of water you drink, etc. I know it sound insane, but sometimes if you DON"T drink enough water the scales can stall. Your body needs water to wash the toxins out of your muscles after you exercise, for just one reason to drink more water. Just don't despair and keep trying, you will succeed eventually.

So today I went to the doctor for my shots and it said I gained 3 pounds. I was devestated. I went over two days in the past week in calories and only by a couple hundred. I exercised twice what I normally and burned over 2500 calories. I also ate on the low end of my calories range the rest of the week. I did not think I was going to lose more than a pound but I certainly did not expect to gain 3. I am crushed this morning and to be honest I don't know how many more weeks of this I can handle. I work very hard to lose weight. I did go over at my Daddy's birthday fish fry but was sooo good the rest of the week. I ate better this week that I have in months. I worked out twice as much. I am deflated today and ready for a good cry!

Spent 5 days visiting with my grand children and seeing them involved in their sports. I saw baseball, track, and soccer what fun to share this time with them.
MOMTOCONNOR2003 hang in there it will change, just be patient because we have all been there. I agree with LAPERLE and NSV's and I'm glad to be a part of Sparkpeople to get support and encouragement to help us reach our goals. emoticon

Don't give up MOMTOCONNOR2003--all of a sudden your scales will probably start co-operating. It sometimes takes awhile for everything to make a difference. Are your clothes fitting any differently? You have to look for NSV's (non-scale victories) at times like these. I did not like my weigh in this morning, but that was because I completely stopped tracking my nutrition, ate everything I wanted--and more than I wanted at times--and on a few days probably didn't even drink enough water. Need to get back on track this week as I am determined to meet my goals this year!

I don't understand my scale at all. It seems like the harder I try to lose weigh my scale stops moving. Over the past 3 weeks I went from exercising some and eating whatever to packing my lunch, working out every days, etc. It seems like the harder I try the less the scale cooperates. I have weigh in tomorrow at the doctors office. I am hoping it will correct itself by tomorrow. I am taking B12 injections and if the scale is not going to move and my metabolism not increase I don't see the point of continuing with the shots. I was not the greatest yesterday eatting because of going to my Dad and Uncles birthday fish fry. However the day before I spent the entire day working in the yard. I have the sunburn to prove it. UGH! YEsterday I even took a walk after the fry and walk a mile and a half.

I sure hope it moves down some more tomorrow morning!

This is in reagards to the frustrated lady that idn't hardly budging about shots, exercise, cal counting.

I'm sorry, I know it is VERY annoying, when one actually tries so hard and makes huge effort, and gets those results. If you spend 1/2 hour here and read stories about doing such things or plauteaus, you will know how common this is % wise.

You are going to have to see NSV ( non scale victories), For example you were able to be consistant for 2 weeks or a month. One's pants are pinching as much, energy upped... all that...

Also other health issues such as your blood sugar influence results. Basicly, some of these things take longer than wanted.

Keep it up. You can share your thoughts and concerns to your Dr or e-mail ... emoticon emoticon

Stop "beating yourself up" MOMTOCONNOR2003 and realize that you may be forming muscle with the amount of exercise you are doing. It is possible and that muscle weighs more than the fat that you might be losing. Also, it is normal to lose only a pound or two a week so I would say you are doing great. Yes, I know, you want to lose the weight faster, but if you do so it probably will not be permanent weight loss. It is a hard lesson to learn, but it is one we all have to learn if this journey is to be worthwhile and permanent. I know, I am still trying to learn this lesson!

I am very frustrated these days with my scale. I started B12 and MIC injections 2 1/2 weeks ago. I lost 4 pounds week one and One pound week 2. This week I have stayed in my calorie range every day, worked out more this week than the other two and my scale is not moving this week. This scares me because if I can't lose it with the help of the doctor what will I do once they stop the injections. I know my blood sugar is still out of wack and the doctor will probably have to up my meds. That will probably help but my next appointment is not until May for my blood sugar. I know I sound selfish because I have lost 5 pounds in two weeks but that is becauseI had just started back so the 4 pounds was water weigh. It is sad that I am getting shots and working out double time to lose one to no pounds. Very frustrating when you work so hard for little to no progress on the scale.

Laperle, I totally get what you said yesterday. I ate ALL kinds of wrong this weekend while we were at the beach. Now that I'm home I am trying to not want the "bad." This has led to feeling sluggish and yucky. so, I rode the bike today and already feel a little more in the flow.

We have a very windy day here. Have done my 3 mile walk video inside, and am not sure how much walking in the field I want to do with the dog. Took her out first thing this morning and all she wanted to do was watch thing blow around (yes, she would have chased some of them) with very little walking.

I have been having a hard time getting back on track after the past weekend with its Easter celebration and the feeling I needed to eat the things I had given up for lent. Also, and I know this is a poor excuse I have developed another complication of my peripheral neuropathy with my left heel being very sore. I have continue to do my walking videos, etc, but it is quite painful to do so at times. I did start treatment for it yesterday, but as with my neck and shoulders it will take time to get better. Right now it is causing me to make poor choices as to what I do and not do. Need to stop feeling sorry for myself and get back on track.

So I started the Spring Challenge and today was day one. I did the video and some cardio this morning. It felt great! I also used one of the Sparkpeople slow cooker recipes and started that this morning before leaving for work. I am dog the Slow Cooker Whole Chicken recipe. I normally try a couple new recipes a week to try some new things. So far I have only had one recipe I would not repeat.

I lost one pound this week. I was really hoping for 3 but I lost one. Next week I will try again for 3 pounds. So far I am off to a great start today but I did not get in a workout because of my early morning doctor appointment. I am hoping to be able to do something outside with the kids tonight, if it does not rain.

Today is Patriot's Day here in New England which means an day baseball game and the Boston Marathon. I watch the ball game, and keep track of what happens at the marathon, but other than that it is a restful day. I did do a 42 minute walking video for a workout before the ball game started, and have walked my do in the field three times so have added quite a few steps for the day. Hope everyone is staying on track today/

Hope everyone had a great Easter/Pesach/Whatever you celebrate/or just a great weekend :D

I've had a wonderful weekend with my partner who I don't get to see enough of, but we're affirming the whole moving in together after the next uni year is over. Now back to the 'grind' if you will or back to job hunting since I haven't heard anything from the place I interviewed. At least this also means more time to spend on taking care of myself, gotta look on the bright side!

Typical Easter for me except I stayed in my calorie Range. YAHHHHH! Got up went to church, had a cookout lunch at Grandma. Avoided the bread but did have a small piece of cake. Had an easter egg hunt for the kids. On the way home we went to Boston Market for supper. I had chicken, green beans and potatoes. I did not eat the corn bread and I got in my 100 ounces of water. So the day was a sucess and I don't feel like I skipped anything. YAHHHH! So far so good today. I had mini muffins for breakfast and snack this morning is string cheese. I also managed to get in a 40 minute workout this morning.

Had a great weekend. Sunrise service and breakfast, golf with friends, motorcycle ride and lunch with hubby. To finish our day a visit from our son and daughter-in-law. How different this Easter was for us, this is the first time we did not share a meal with family. It was a bitter sweet day of memories from Easter's past and remembering family we have lost and the joy of enjoying a carefree day with my wonderful supportive husband. I still got my usual daily exercise in by getting an early start at 5 AM .
Today exercise done and ready to tackle some clutter clearing. Have a great day and Keep Sparking everyone.

MOMTOCONNOR2003 please give yourself a little room to recover when you aren't feeling well. I realize that it feels good to get some exercise in when you are sick, but it is wise to let your body tell you what it can do. Please listen. I did only 30 minutes of walk aerobics this morning. I have been sick all week and I was running a low grade fever this morning. I manageds to get it in but little else. Hopefully this cold will pass it has been 4 days now. UGHHH!

Have just finished my workout - a Leslie Sansone 3 mile walking off the pounds video which I extended slightly to 48 minutes by doing extra stretching. I always feel so energized after I finish one of these videos. It is quite cold here, but a sunny day nevertheless. Hope everyone is meeting their goals today.

Went shopping out of town this morning despite getting up to a light coating of snow/sleet on the ground. I knew with the sun coming out as predicted it would disappear fast, and it did. Once back home this afternoon, I unloaded all my purchases, put them away and then did a dance/walk video for 26 minutes as my workout. I might have blown this workout off previously, but with mm SPAT and being accountable to all of you, I knew I had to do something. It was shorter than I have been doing recently, but I DID IT!

Hugs everyone and best wishes to all for this week.
I know I haven't been posting like I should in this forum, so I am going to do just a little update.
I have been going to the gym on a regular basis. But, last week, I did slow down a bit, due to being sunburn. But I did go T, W, Th and took the rest of the week off. Went yesterday just for sauna and some cycling on the bike (didn't feel too well). Today went to the gym, sauna and Yoga. I Have been drinking daily 12+ cups of water and staying within my calorie ranges, etc...
April 19, is my weight check. I am a bit nervous. Started the gym, Feb 19, and haven't checked it since. I don't see big results in my clothing yet so that's a bit harsh. But as far as I know, I have lost 14 inches as of 3/19. I do feel slimmer, my stomach looks flatter, and overall I feel stronger and healthier. So lets see what happens Sat. Wish me Luck.

went to gym with my oldest son again last night. It's really amazing, I finally have something that will let me spend time with him and have conversation. Life is good. :)

It could also be that he is finally getting old enough to realize that Mom is not a dirty word. Either way I'll take it.

This s typical Maine spring weather. It was snowing here yesterday and today it is supposed to close to 70 degrees. Sure don't know how to dress at this point since tomorrow there is supposed to be another cold front moving through. Oh well, layers work and I do love a nice sunny day. Hope everyone is getting ready for a fantastic week of staying on track.

Yesterday did not go the way I expected. Was supposed to help my sister and BIL with removing some tree debris from their yard. There was a lot of it. Then found out that sister can't do it because of allergies, it would throw here into an attack so she can't do it. So hubby and BIL were doing it. Until hubby decided to argue with a chainsaw...... not his smartest move. Luckily it wasn't too bad. Went to ER they cleaned it all out and put steri strips on it and he was good to go. Didn't even need stitches.

With all that going on did not get lunch at all, so dinner I did over eat. But I don't think it was too horrible considering I skipped lunch.

It is a beautiful day here with sunshine, snow melt, and singing birds. I have spent some time outside with my dog, but it is still to wet to walk most places or do yard work. This is my first week back exercising after hurting my ankle a few weeks ago. So far so good. I have walked on my lunch every day this week and I even got in a few workouts in the morning before work. YAHHH! I also have been packing my lunch instead of eating those frozen things. It has worked out great. I can eat the sandwich at my desk while working and then take my full lunch to walk.

Going out of town for a few days on spring break and am really worried because the people we are going with want to eat out all meals except breakfast. So hard to eat out and stay in your calorie range. I know one night we are going out for seafood so that should be a good healthy meal the others is what I am worried about. UGHHHH

Looks like everyone is progressing. Beautiful day here. Working on my goal of eating more and weighing less so I'll see tomorrow if I have lost anymore since Monday. I am trying to power up my meals without adding calories by adding fiber. Today's fiber quinoa, but I also use flax, and chia seeds to power up my meals. Lunch today black bean burger which I modified a basic recipe to suit my taste on whole wheat bread 35 calories per slice with mustard ,a tomato slice, and dill relish, broccoli, raspberries with 1 tsp. mini chocolate chips. I'll admit I was not sure I would like the burger, but it was pretty tasty . Hope everyone has a great day.

A beautiful day here and the snow is disappearing quite quickly. It was cold enough last night for everything to freeze so the dog an I got a bonus this morning. Was up at about 6;:00 am and am able to get out our back door again which means that I was able to walk on top of the remaining snow without sinking. Therefore, I was able to walk the dog out in the field for much needed exercise for both of us. We own about 13 acres so the field is large and although the dog was on a retractable leash she was able to do some slow running while I walked as fast as I could. Hope everyone is having a great day.

Well plans have changed again, seems like the story of the week. But I'm still doing well. Exercising every day and not letting the stress make me eat.

Supposed to go to the gym with my oldest son. Hoping that happens, I don't get enough bonding time with him since he bought a house.
