I am very late due to being out of town and having no computer access. I guess my biggest accomplishment has being able to do some exercise without being totally out of breath. I have breathing issues so getting into any Cardio program was going to be a challenge.

Thanks to SP I have been doing a Cardio 3x per week for a total of 30 min a week. I have lost now 10 pounds and feel better. I have much more to go but know I am on my way.

I know I can do this with the right amount of support. emoticon

I had an eating disorder for about 10 years. How far I have come is that now that I am overweight, I can see that as the result of a series of choices that I made and as something that I can change by making better choices. It sounds obvious but when my eating disorder was active I saw my weight and food intake as something that was out of control, no matter how much I restricted my intake.

Excellent consecutive blood sugar readings and 20 pounds off this month. :)

I am finally used to wanting to eat healthy now. I look for all organic food. Havent eaten any sugar or sodas in a month. I am exercising 6 days a week. 60 minutes a day and before I thought that was impossible with my heart condition. I am getting heart healthy and loving every minute of this journey. The only thing hard for me is when my kids come over and grandchildren come over and want to order pizzas....thats hard cause it is a great weakness of mine but I finally learned that I can eat one piece of pizza and it wont kill me or sabatoge my weightloss or my health. I can overcome all obstacles. and for that I am so greatful!

I am a day late putting my accomplishment but here goes: I am a school nurse and over the "Wellness Program" . This was funny at first because I am short and plump. But that has gotten me really motivated because I can't be over a wellness club and not practice what I preach! So I weighed today and I have lost 11 pounds since 9/1 and I feel great! So motivated to continue on this journey to healthier living!!!! emoticon

My largest accomplishment is the ability to make good choices. Choosing to eat healthy, choosing to move and choosing to be a part of a larger community (Spark People) that encourages us to strive to be our best. I have learned many things in this group but the best thing that I learned was that I am a priority and I have to put things that help me reach my goals as a priority in my life! I guess I have learned to be selfish for me!! emoticon

I have been back since July and I have lost 20lbs since then!!. I am getting on the elliptical trainer for 20 -25 mins at a time. Before July I couldn't even do 5 mins. I am walking better since I got a steroid injection in my knees in July. I was getting discouraged last week because I had lost earlier in the week but gained 3lbs after a salty meal. But I looked at our rock in fall challenge and I have lost 5 lbs in Sept. so I can feel good about that. I have found some wonderful low fat low cal recipes. My family has completely revamped our menus. emoticon Co workers have started to notice I have lost weight and I sing the praises of Sparkpeople. Its such a great website and wonderful caring people. Thanks to everyone!

Well I only joined a week ago today but I've lost 3 lbs. YAY!! And to counteract that I fell in the shower this morning, went to the dr. today and gotta go back in a week. Good news nothing's broken. Bad news, I have fibro and RA, if you have those you know the kind of pain I'm in. So I will be sedentary for a few days. Keep me in your thought please.

Since i joined Spark People in September I've been walking about 45 minutes a day, after doing almost no exercise for a couple of months.

I've been sticking to a vegan diet and feel great!

My weight hasn't budged lately, but i lost 12 lbs between July and September (i changed my weight ticker to reflect this). I'm not beating myself up over being on a plateau.

I started May 21.
1. I have more energy.
2. I've started exercising.
3. I have logged in/recorded my nutrition/fitness minutes every day.
4. TODAY, I've gotten into the 220's. It's 229, but that's better than the 250's.
5. I've lost 27 lbs.

I can walk up the four flights of stairs without feeling like I am going to die! I never took the stairs before, always the elevator, even for one floor. Now I never use the elevator, only the stairs! What an accomplishment for me!!

Each new day is a blessing. I am thankful for each day that my eyes open and I take a breath.

Thank you for this question. I had been feeling down because the scale doesn't move and the measuring tape sits is out to get me, UGG! emoticon

But, I am strength training 3-4 days a week and can now lift 10 lbs dumbells over my head when I used to struggle to lift 3 lbs. emoticon I am much stronger and even getting into and out of my car is easier. I love my job and typically work 10 hrs days (and this after doing a 40-50 min workout), go to provide counseling to homeless women after work, then home, eat and to bed. emoticon My sleep is the best it has been in many years. I really enjoy the fresh foods I eat now and have become much more open and loving to friends and family. emoticon

Well I'm only 3 weeks back into trying to get in shape - but one accomplishment I want to celebrate is that I am running again. I previously loved it - it helped me to lose weight 5 years ago, but the pounds slowly crept back on and that makes it harder to run. Then last year trained (though not like I should have) and ran a marathon last year at my heaviest. It's taken me 11 months to start running again since then, but I'm back to it!

I have lost 20 lb. and have about 15 more to go. Due to an ankle problem, I could barely walk a few years ago, but this summer I have walked several 5K's and continue to walk a lot. Anxious to get the last 15 off. :)

What are you able to do today that you couldn't do when you started this journey?

I started this phase of the journey in September 2011. My A1C was 15, I sleep 15 hours a day, and I didn't exercise. Since then, I started insulin, went off insulin, my A1C is now 6 with oral meds. I have walked a 12K ( two years in a row). I enjoy the gym, and water aerobics. I make much better food choices. I get 8 hours of sleep a night, and while I hate mornings, I am learning to get up and go to the gym before work.

What are you able to do today that you couldn't do when you started this journey? Some of us have been on the journey for a while and some of the team is just starting. However, even after a week of exercise or changing eating habits there can be changes in what you were able to do.

I am able to drink some water without flavors in it. Water is not always easy for me to drink. I can also walk 2 miles. It wears me out, but getting easier.

This past month I have been getting off of my butt and doing something. I used to sit around the house and play on the xbox or computer or watch tv all day long. I am now going out and pulling weeds (which it needed anyway) I am glad and happy to say that I have went from couch potato to becoming active. Even if it is working on the house doing chores. I have noticed something else and that is when I would sit around and be doing nothing(constructive) I would eat all day long and now I am too busy to eat or think about food. Things are really getting good.

Have a wonderful Day! :)

Some accomplishments...I can walk a mile straight without having to stop because of my sciatic nerve pain. And that's strictly because of the weight in my belly going down. I've learned to appreciate the small bites of bliss. (read: "naughty foods") I've learned to listen to my body, most of all. I'm now sensitive to sugars. I'm now sensitive to salt intake and I can tell you when I've had too much of either. Before I never knew. I also am enjoying my increased stamina in my exercises. :D And the best part....IT CAN ONLY GET BETTER!!!

Weight loss and then maintenance have been good results of this journey into healthful living. Consistency with fitness has also evolved along with 8 glasses of water. But the biggest change is that I am beginning to learn how to be a friend. Thank you all for your helps along this long trek!

At the end of June I went to see my doctor because I was getting out of breath walking to the other side of the hospital where I work, about a block in distance. I was really scared. Yesterday I walked 3 miles in 48 minutes. I've lost 37 pounds and I can't begin to say how much better I feel already.
