My biggest fear is losing one of my son's. I cannot imagine the grief my youngest son felt when his 9 week old baby was killed by his ex-girlfriends boyfriend. It has been 4 yrs now and feels like it just happened. He will never be the same and it hurts to see him suffer. He is doing somewhat better but I still worry.
Failure is also a fear..but has been something I have dealt with on a daily bases..so today is a new day and I march on. emoticon

I have two things that I am afraid of.... I live in a rural area and so one fear is a deer jumping out in front of my car and me hitting it. The other fear is of being abducted/attacked/raped. But whatever my fears are, I know I am in the hands of the Lord.

Each new day is a blessing. I am thankful for each day that my eyes open and I take a breath.

I do see a pattern here. Many people fear something happening to a loved one or child or disease.

Some of this is human nature, other things are also fueled by the media and our thoughts.

I heard recently, that good thoughts, attitudes, behavior could crowd this out. What do you think
about this?

Like Ruthie, I try to hand my fears over to GOD in Jesus, but fail and often entertain worry at night instead until the battle is really fought in my mind. Deep down I think i fear losing my memory.

My biggest fear is gaining weight. I understand that I'm not going to lose weight on the track that I'm on, but I feel that if I gain weight my whole world would just collapse in on itself.

I'm also afraid of not being able to ride horses.... I wouldn't know how to identify myself if not through my equestrian lifestyle.

okay..this one is going to be weird.

My biggest fear is waking up to a zombie apocolypse. I'm not afraid of dying, I'm afraid of having to SURVIVE that scenario. The thought of trying to evade zombies with a toddler terrifies me. I would feel totally responsible for getting my family to safety and ensuring that we make it through. The thought of not being able to protect my baby or my hubby is too much to even consider.

I'm sure there's something deeper than the zombies in there somewhere!

I think my biggest fear would be dying too young and knowing that it was from living a unhealthy lifestyle that I chose to live. Thank for having the wisdom to change my lifestyle!

My mom can't stand moths. I mean the level you said.

Probably it would be good to work thought it... but I saw something in the paper that makes a nice humans can't hear. It emoticon gets rid of bugs and mice. Maybe it would be great for you.

My biggest fear - SPIDERS! I mean I'm a true arachnophobic. I have nightmares about those little, creepy crawly, disgusting, shouldn't be on planet Earth things.

When my daughter was in elementary school, I used to have a recurring nightmare that terrorists invaded her school and blew it up. I decided that was just a control issue.

Just about everything else, I know I can handle. I've had a husband you couldn't keep it in his pants, been through a divorce, was laid off and unemployed for awhile, lost my house, and lost my brother and father in the same month.

Except for those vile spiders, I know I can handle anything that comes my way!

I try to deal with my fears by letting Jesus handle them. The more you think on them the worse you feel. But I am human and try and figure out problems myself sometimes I worry all night about something before I surrender them to God and ask for his peace and grace to see me through. And Praise God he does. emoticon Jesus

At this point in my life I have a couple of fears. The matter to do with watching my brother dying before my eyes is a huge fear as to how I am going to manage when he finally goes.

Another fear is me dying and leaving my young son with out a parent. He and I are so very close. We have been each others Rock along with God since my husband abandoned us 6 years ago.

Then I have this fear of my daughter who suffers with mental illness taking my grand daughter away from me again. I have only just managed to get to know my grand daughter and she is so very precious to me.

I have many fears that I live with. These are the key ones in my life. I keep praying that these fears will be removed by the Lord.

This is a tough one since, like most everybody, I have those common fears of bugs, heights, and being homeless. But I think my biggest fear is losing my ability to see what I can and can't control in life. Knowing that what's happening is beyond my control gives me a lot of peace - I can let it go and just endure. But not being able to tell the difference, losing my discernment, that's scary!

This is tough. Anything I can think of right now (besides my fear of heights, spiders, etc) has one main thing .... feeling alone/lonely. So I guess loneliness is mine.

My biggest fear is never having a family (husband and children) and losing my faith. I have never been more at peace in the midst of life "storms" in my whole life and I really don't want to ever lose my faith in God. I already know what it feels like and can't image turning back.

My greatest fear is being abducted or murdered, or even just in an accident, and my family not knowing for a long time (or forever) what happened to me, if I am alive or dead. And it may sound stupid, but I am afraid of being assaulted or killed in my own home and my kitty being scared or hurt.

One on my big fears is losing one of my grandchildren or children. My oldest son has had severe asthma and I have lived in fear since he was little that he wouldn't make it to adulthood. He is 36 now. But now I have a 4 year old grandson who has severe asthma and severe food allergies so I live in fear now that someone will give him a food he is allergic to and he will die of anaphylactic shock. His dad just doesn't seem to understand the severity of the problem. The one time he did have nuts and was having an allergic reaction, his father sent him to bed- coughing wheezing and vomiting and with hives! If he had not been at our house that night he would have died. Scares me to death!

I have little fears, that pop up every day, like.. is today the day the car will die? Will it die in the intersection? Or of heights, will I fall off the step ladder? Most of these I can rationalize or problem solve around.

I try not to have big fears, about loved ones dying, or getting cancer etc.. because I believe that my life has been determined, that there is a larger plan at play, and so my worrying doesn't change anything.

My biggest fear it also losing my son. He is all I have left in life since my divorce. I have lost both parents and grandparents. I fear being alone for the rest of my life. Since my divorce a year ago I have no family but my son. I moved to an area where I know no one. I feel alone now. I do not want to be alone the rest of my life. I do not want to die of loneliness. Getting healthier will hopefully enable me to live a long life to enjoy grandchildern.

Well, this is a depressing Forum. Y'all are killing my vibe.... However, I will participate. Losing my baby girl (8). BUT she does have her big 28 yr old brother, that loves her to death and I'm sure he would do his best. OY but I worry. SO, in the meantime, I love HARD and with purpose, not to smother but for her to know that I loved her with EVERYTHING.

My biggest fear is to lose my son. My daughter died six years ago at the age of 29 and now all I have is my son. He has been in the military for 12 years now and is a helicopter pilot. He has been deployed many times to Afghanistan and Iraq. I know my daughter is in heaven, there is not a doubt about that. My son, however, is not saved. I fear losing him and even more if he is not saved. I pray to God to soften my son's heart so that he may accept Christ. My second fear is what will happen to my granddaughter when I die. I have to stay healthy and live for a very long time. She is 12, my deceased daughter's child, and is severly autistic. She cannot speak at all and has an IQ on only 46. What is going to happen to her when I am gone? There is nobody to take care of her once I am gone.

What doesn't kill you will make you stronger

I may fall down, then I get back up, brush myself off, and get back into the race.

My biggest fear is that I won't finish school, that I won't get into a good college, that I might just not be good enough. At times in my life, these fears seem petty. I know that I can do it; it's just the step by step process that will be a bit challenging. I need to just believe in myself.

I am also horrified of heights, bees, wasps, and (this is weird but) dead animals. I can't stand seeing road kill, dead mice, dead birds, etc.

2 and a half yrs. ago, my 13 yr. old chow/German shepherd died of old age. My grandma made me lift her dead body into the truck because I was the strongest person. I had to sit in the back seat with her, and her head was touching my leg. I was mortified.

One time my border collie, Kelvi, killed a mouse outside and then dropped it in my lap!! I screamed and my grandma laughed.

One time my grandma, my dad, my dad's girlfriend, and my dad's girlfriend's mom were driving home from my dad's girlfriend's doctor's appt. All of a sudden a big black bird died and hit our windshield. I screamed along with everyone else

I am also scared of being in car crashes. I've only been in one; but it was one of the most horrible experiences of my life.

I think my biggest fear would be to fail and disappoint my parents and myself. I am a college student, taking a year off to get in-state tuition at my school. I really want to do well with my education and get a degree. But it is really hard for me because I have always struggled in school and I am paying my way so that is tough as it is. So I would say my biggest fear is to not finish school.

Stay Strong. Stay Positive. Laugh A lot. Love Always. Stay Confident. BE YOU. :)

I am scared of heights and spiders. I have learned to not fear snakes so much since my husband is known as Boa Bob the snake man in Aruba. (If you are interested you can check him out on facebook, https://www.facebook.com/Boabob55) But I am still scared of poisonous ones. I am afraid of losing one of my children or grandchildren. Right know my father is not doing so good, he is 81, and I know that it will probably not be long until we lose him and then quit possibly my mother soon after. They have been together 62 years. I am not afraid of losing them because I know they aren't afraid of passing on. But it saddens me to think that they will be gone. For years when my kids were little I was so afraid of something happening to me and them not having me and me not seeing them grow up. I think for a parent that is probably our biggest fear.

These are the stairs I have to get up and down without dying(LOL).

My biggest fear is turning out to be like my mom. She was an alcoholic and abusive (emotionally) and I had to deal with that until her unexpected passing 9 years ago. She also didn't take care of herself and developed a lot of health problems. I slowly started seeing myself developing some behaviors that she had and I am working hard to change them. Don't get me wrong, I want to always be the loving, caring honest person that my mom raised me to be and she was as well but I don't want to ever be emotionally abusive or spend my weeks/weekends drinking.

I am also scared of heights, failing, and the future

Though, the thought of losing my loved ones rips my heart from my chest, that's all in God's hands, so I try to leave it there. But my biggest fear that I can control is failing my family. I don't want to fail them, and I pray daily that I'm of service and benefit to them all. I've learned though, that no matter how hard I try to be there for them, if I fail myself, I fail them all as well. So I'm learning to keep promises to myself.

My fears: Losing my kid. My kid losing me. Failing (at my education, career, weight loss, parenting, etc.), spiders and snakes, cancer or other illnesses that are serious, losing the weight and gaining it all back, fighting my weight my entire life and never reaching my goals.

We all have something that we are afraid of, so what is your biggest fear. This doesn't have to be fitness or exercise related. I am afraid of heights, spiders, and snakes. Plus I can't stand going to haunted houses, but those aren't my biggest fear.

My biggest fear is something happening to me before my kids are old enough to be on their own, or even one of my children dying. I know that fear can be there for anyone with children. I love my kids dearly and couldn't imagine life without them, although some days they drive me completely crazy.
