Today I read about eating 5 servings of vegetables and fruits. Very interesting articles. I started a challenge at my work on Wednesday. The challenge is to eat 2 fruits and 3 vegetables a day for 14 days. I will get a discount on my insurance if I complete the challenge. I am way ahead after 3 days. I eat a lot of fruits and vegetables every day. My problem is that I eat a lot of sweets every day too. I am doing good today because I have only had 1 cookie. That is good for me. Tomorrow I won't have any cookies left and I won't be at work so the day ought to turn out great. emoticon

I try to plan and track my food for 7 days at a time and if I have time add to it every 2 days,so to keep it up. When I shop I go to the shopping list. I go over my menu every evening to see if it needs to be corrected for that day. If I have time I track my exercise as I do it.

I have pleurisy, 2 types of anemia, macrocytic anemia, Iron deficiency anemia, from blood transfusions with wrong antibodies, causes blood to replace daily instead of 100 days, chronic pneumonia, pleurisy, chronic kidney disease, a partially collapsed lung, low blood pressure & blood clots in both lungs for 3 years. Now formed scar tissue.I am 56 years old. I had cervical cancer 6 years ago, no signs last 4 years as well. I have new blood clots now,2019.I am on P.S.T. time zone.

It's finding the combination of strategies and then using them. Besides the Spat and the food tracker, I like the support that comes from the other team members. We all struggle with our own issues. We can share and vent and know that we are safe from being judged by others. So happy that you are all here.

Those are the two things that help keep me on track. That is the food tracker and measuring my food and drinks.

AMYSYOKO ~ do you use the spark nutrition tracker? It's a very visual way to see not just how many calories you consume, but where those calories come from. For me, this makes making healthier choices easier. I don't feel so guilty if my extra calories come from veggies or fruit instead of burgers and fries. ;-)

For the most part I eat on the healthy side! But I DO LOVE to EAT! PLUS add that emotional eating! It's a wonder I am not as big as a HOUSE! (Thank God!)

BUT it is a good place to start and I need to be more accountable by MAKING time to log and journal my food! emoticon

Hello, All ~ Portion distortion is a huge problem for me. I healthy, lots of fruit and veggies, but I don't want just 1/2 cup of anything. I've added more protein and that seems to help to with feeling full for a longer period of time. Drinking water is not a problem either. Other than my morning coffee, that's about all I do drink. Evening snacking is really hard and I sometimes I have to bard knuckle through it. I don't bring salty junk into the house, because if it's here, I eat.

After a very hectic, difficult school year, I realized that I am emotional eater, too. This team will help keep my accountable and on my eating plan. I look forward to getting know to the members as we make this journey to better health. Keep Sparking!!

Great idea! My major difficulty is having bad arthritis in my hips--fairly recent development, so it really hurts to walk as much as I did last year. I miss it. Will try my gazelle again this next week.

My successes are enjoying the weight I have lost and the new habits I've formed. I feel weird if I don't get at least 8 glasses of water in daily. That rarely happens any more!
