I mostly used coconut oil, as I thought the MCT was overpriced. Finally I found some at a price that I thought I could try it out... but... since then, I've not actually used it yet to make anything.

Interestingly enough, with my "altered states" taste buds... I find coconut oil in glass jars tastes better than those in plastic jars... I've really had issues eating anything out of plastic. It's like I'm suddenly hpersensitive. I'm guessing it's some fallout from not managing my inflammation issues before the cancer and the chemo treatments ... just a thought.

Yep... life is a series of events alright, live and learn....

And strengthens her arms.

I bought MCT oil softgels and try to remember to take them daily. I just wish I had done more research on this subject and could have save some money. I keep coconut oil in and wish I had known that it is better than the MCT oil. Oh well, live & learn.

I bought into the mct oil hype and bought 2 bottles when it was an amazon special one day. It’s one of the things that has made me research EVERYTHING before I buy or use it. Totally unnecessary, expensive item. Use coconut oil instead.
Exogenous ketones—again according to most experts a big fat no. I don’t waste my money...

When I am solid Keto I drink Bulltproof coffee in the mornings made with 1 Tbs. MCT oil added. It keeps me full until afternoon helping me go on daily 16-18 hour fasts. My brain stays sharper & this helps me as ahigh school teacher.

I use Coconut Oi in food such as when I make fatbombs. I use MCT Oil (70cal)and Exogenous Ketones (15cal) when I exercise allot. By allot I am exercising in the 20-30 hours per week range. Otherwise, I do not use MCT Oil or Exogenous Ketones.

I did research on MCT vs. coconut oil.. Coconut oil is not only better, because it is natural but better because it costs less also. In addition the lauric acid, which is one of the main benefits, is all but removed in the process of creating the MCT. I use "neutral flavor" coconut oil -- in my coffee, to cook with and added to anything I can add it to without affecting the end result. May this article will help everyone understand. Natural is always better -- IMHO https://healthimpactnews.com/2014/mct-oil-

I'm using them, but I have no idea if they are helping.

I'm curious about peoples thoughts on adding Ketones or MCT oil to things.

MCT is short for "Medium Chain Triglycerides"

My impression is that they are long chain fatty molecules, but already cut up in shorter or medium sized pieces that are "easier to digest", and generate ketones when digested. Some foods already have more medium chain triglycerides than others, like coconut oil.

Adding these things to coffee or other things may help you get higher levels of ketones in your blood and body, and this may have some therapeutic effects, but as far as getting your body to burn its own body fat easier, somehow I don't see it.

For folks who want to follow a ketogenic diet to loose weight, this seems to be extra calories. But I'm open minded, so I'm curious about other peoples experiences with these things.
