Holly - a keto tiramisu would be AWESOME!!! I will wait with baited breath.

Teresa is Leanne's podcast mostly for young women or women of a certain age as well? (love that phrase...) I am plowing through podcasts right now. I never listen to music in my car, and don't mind when I catch a red light anymore!!

I love Leanne Vogel! Her podcast is very informative. She shows several different ways to do Keto in her book The Keto Diet. Her emphasis is the we all have different physiology and our bodies respond differently and have different needs. Everyone has to make it work for themselves, and she provides a wealth of information to a make this possible.

let me work on it Karen. i can figure out the cream, and the coffee soak is fine if you use rum instead of kahlua..cocoa is fine for the top. its the ladyfingers that might be a problem. let me see what i can come up with. it wont be just the same but maybe a close facsimile!

By the way Holly - this is the one who makes amazing tiramisu. You don't happen to have a keto tiramisu recipe do you?

I am 8 years post menopause, so don't think that those issues concern me at all. I have more of the "nothing works" problem - yet, keto is working!!

I have a couple of cookbooks, but since it's just the two of us these days, my cooking is very simple. Once in awhile I pull out a complicated recipe, but most days just cook meat/veg.

We are going to Mississippi tomorrow for the weekend - meeting my youngest son there and since his wife is going to be out of town, I suppose most meals will be out. I already told him anything was fine, but I wasn't eating carbs. So eggs, bacon, meat and salad. Who knows. The important thing is being there with him, and I know I will be able to find something.

Then in June we are going to San Francisco for our 30th anniversary. When I get back from that (June 30) I may investigate a more stringent program, but for now, I'm so enjoying keto!!

dont know her at all. However, if as Ramona says she does carb ups and higher protein, i dont know anyone that has worked well for long term.
Totally agree with Maria being great, and All Day i dream about food..and all day i dream about food. just got her cookbook called Everyday Ketogenic Kitchen, and its fantastic. her Facebook group is All day I dream about Low Carb, and she posts many great recipes there, and you can see others recreations of them.
Also good..I breathe I'm Hungry. and Craig on Ruled.me is always helpful and friendly and has great recipes, too!

There're a number of different ways you can approach keto, but if you're just now starting out, I'd recommend a more standard approach like:

Diet Doctor
www.dietdoctor.com/low-carb/k
eto

...and then, when you have this solidly dialed in, people like Leanne Vogel (she's definitely legit) can be really helpful with tweaking if something isn't working as you'd expect it to.

As far as keto cook books go, I'd have to say that Maria Emmerich's books have to be the best out there. Good solid macros for every dish and, she she's conservative about carbs.

...and definitely check out the better internet recipe resources: Ruled Me, All Day I Dream About Food (this woman can COOK), Diet Doctor.

Dr. Jason Fung: "Holy consensus, Batman. With so many 'experts' from Michelle Obama to the USDA to virtually all of the medical professionals (including doctors and dieticians) agreeing that 'Eat Less, Move More' is the way to go, you might think that it is 100% unquestionably true. But here's a queer thought... if we all agree that we know the cure for obesity, and we've spent billions on educations and programs - why are we getting fatter? In other words, why does this 'cure' suck so bad?

It's interesting. I just wasn't sure if she's legit or you take some from all and then customize it for you.

I think Leanne is a very solid resource, especially if the mainstream/ conventional keto wisdom isn't working for your body. I also think that her expertise niche is women of child-bearing age... when female hormones are very much in play in relation to insulin resistance, and fertility is driving your body's processes. She also has a lot of info relating to thyroid and adrenals that is helpful.

Her advice (carb-ups, slightly higher carb, slightly higher protein, less focus on IF, approach to exercise) didn't serve me well with regard to keto. My menopausal body prefers a standard VLCHF approach to keto.

She's definitely worth paying attention to, and seeing what you can learn. I really like that she sees this as a process, not an endurance race, and about building a workable lifestyle.

...though I don't think she's the best keto cook out there, LOL... but she has improved!

I'm not familiar with her. Does she have a podcast? How is she different than mainstream keto people?

I was curious, what do you all think of Leanne Vogel? She continues to put different spins on Keto - specifically for women. Do any of you listen to her advice at all? I have one of her cookbooks.
