and the problem also, Fogfog, is that people are making MILLIONS off the supplement industry, and we all have VERY expensive urine!! most gets peed out.

try a quarter teaspoon of pink salt in a glass of water. then up to 1/2 tsp..go from there. took me 2 weeks to be used to it so i doesnt make me cringe any more.

Thanks
May try that.
Have been keto since Jan 5--albeit had a week of vacay and then a week with a son home..and was wrecking those weeks with cocktails etc

So in that about 3 mos I haven't supplemented. I chalked up cramps in my legs as fluid and a warm bath helped.

Wonder if soaking in epsom salts helps with mineral balance? Had a friend who soaked in a bath with magnesium powder and it greatly hiked her magnesium (dont recall how she tested that)

I went looking for trace mineral supplements and not only are they expensive--but evidently its a sketchy industry--The FDA does not require certainty in the product matching labellng etc the way it does with foods

FOGFOG,
if you really want to take extra salt, and you don't want to fill capsules, just dissolve some salt in just enough warm water, down the hatch, and have something more pleasant ready to drink or eat to kill the taste.

I took extra salt in the first weeks of Keto/low carb, but after about 3 months of that I stopped. I feel fine. No medical doctor ever told me about salt one way or the other.

my coach had me drinking 1/2-1 tsp pink salt mixed in a glass of water twice a day. at first i had to gag it down. now i dont even think about it. he also said to salt food liberally with table salt for the iodine.
i dont take a lot of other supplements except what my doc has me take due to the meds i'm on.

I add salt to my water - about 1 tsp per litre and I also add 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar and 1 tbsp lemon juice or a couple lemon slices to increase stomach acid to help with digestion of so much fat... I aim for 2 tsp of added salt which I usually put in a small container on the counter to make sure I use it up. I have no idea if I am getting the right amount of salt... I often have leg swelling that could indicate too much salt or poor electrolyte balance...

So am hearing for 3 months now that getting MORE salt is crucial to keeping us healthy on KETO. And recently read that we are at risk of being low on copper...

I realize there are people who are making salt capsules-- buying empty capsules and filling them with pink salt. Honestly I have no patience for that...

Advice?
