Really, in my previous post I was thinking of a song by the Tubes (am I showing my age?) from 1979, "I want it all now"

www.youtube.com/watch?v=PjAXsAaprws

Great that the sugar craving (and similar) are tamed. I too have treats, they are just different than before (and smaller).

I def learned that from the first go round..lol. I'm just so excited and happy that I'm not having ANY of the issues I did back when I did it last spring.
So true....it's a process and stress also played a huge part in it for me. I wanted it all right then and now and my body def wasn't happy about that.
Taking my time and not stressing has made all the difference for sure!
Breathe deep, slow down and keto on.

And the carb/sugar cravings are gone! If I do have a bad day...a few extra keto cookies... I'm still under in all my #s. It's fantastic!

Excellent. You are timing it right too. A lot of folks want it all, and they want it now.

You are doing it right by letting your body get Keto adapted before starting exercise . Body chemistry, to more easily burn fat, especially for exercise, takes time, and time has no short cuts.

LOVINSHERRY7,
you are still here!

Following Keto, or some low carb mixture of things? I hope you are doing well, I hope the hunger and sugar (or carb) cravings are under control at last. How is that going?

I'm getting along okay without tracking but my weight loss has slowed a lot. I only measure my weight. When I first started I was measuring and tracking everything and got tired of spending so much time at the computer. Go Keto with Casey is a good youtuber to get some ideas from.

Happy to see you back! Let's hope May treats you better than March/April did.

hey all!! soooooo....idk what it is but even after having the experience i did with keto for some reason i just can't shake it. i'm drawn to it and now trying to look back on anything that would have caused the issues i had.
before i ever started keto i searched and search for a documentary...couldn't find until now. i was flipping through netflix and ran across "the magic pill". i added it to my que but b/c i was no longer doing it i didn't watch. finally (about a week later) i couldn't stop thinking about it...so i did. of course, it was great!
after going off keto and all the huge amounts of stress from 3 moves in march i put on about 12 lbs. once i was settled into my new place and things seem to be more normal again i got back on herbalife (my husbands thing). i've gotten most of the weight back off but the feeling of hunger/sugar cravings this go around is to high. somehow, someway i've got to get my head straight and whatever it is...stick to it!
thinking of maybe giving keto one more go...idk. the one big thing i hated was the obsession i had with macro counting. i want to just eat without feeling so overwhelmed my those %'s. i'd love to hear if anyone does it without tracking and counting? i'm sure its gotta be possible! right?! as far as my side effects....right now i'm chalking that up to all the stress i was under. it was a crazy march/april!
so yeah, here i am...thinking away.

p.s.
i've really missed this community. you guys are always so awesome!

Keto doesnt work for everyone. My husband doesnt like keto because he has coconut and olive oil sensitivities and using them makes him sick. You have to do whats right for you and your body and if keto is making you miserable than find something that doesnt.

Congratulations on the 40 pounds you already lost and good luck finding what suits you.

No need to defend your decision it’s your body and you have every right to feed it whatever you see fit!!
I WILL say the bad breath and body odor are very common in the first few weeks..that’s to be embraced it means you are getting rid of the bad stuff. It goes away quickly. Sounds also like you got a bit of the “keto flu”..again temporary and actually a good sign that things are progressing normally. Mine didn’t start till week 3 and lasted just a couple days and was greatly eased by salty chicken broth and Powerade zero.
So, for anyone new reading this thread please know if you stay strong and stick out the few difficult, temporary things that might happen, it DOES pass, quickly. For me, I embraced it as a sign I was sicker than I thought, and these things were showing me keto was working. I just needed more healing than others.

You are a study of one. Do what's right for you, and good luck on your journey!

I have two friends who would be a perfect fit for keto - but neither of them feel good doing it. So there are plenty of other things to do to improve their health that are not keto, and that's what they are doing.

No problem here...

So before anyone jumps on board and tells me I've not done it long enough...just don't. lol

I started keto and took me about 2 weeks to even get my #'s & %'s right. Once I did (2 1/2 weeks later) I'm just alllll over the place. The moods are nuts, no energy, stress, anxiety, constipation, night sweats/not sleeping well, no weight loss, horrible breath (which is causing more problems with my gum disease), body oder, extremely dry skin...the list goes on.

Tracking food grams/macros has proven to be more stressful too. I want to be eating and enjoying life instead of taking so much time figuring #'s. I need to feel normal. I don't want to feel like I'm "dieting" and it honestly shouldn't be this hard.

I didn't start keto to lose weight as I just wanted to be healthier and the science said this would do it. After researching more about studies...woman are soooo much different and most studies are rarely done with woman. And being a woman with no health issues to begin with Keto is a bit extreme for me.

I still have about 10 lbs to lose..give or take but I'm not so focused on that. I need to listen to my body and gosh it's telling me no. My poor kids and hubby having to deal with my hormonal issues just isn't fair either. I just don't feel healthy, I just don't feel the way I would have expected and if Keto takes months before I see any benefits, I'll pass.

I lost 40+ lbs before keto and felt great. Again, I told you why I switched but feeling worse wasn't what I wanted. I do not regret doing it though. I have learned a lot about hidden sugars and so much more that I really believe with help me moving forward. I will continue a low carb diet and eating healthy wholesome foods & working out daily. I will still achieve my fitness goals and this just encourages me.

Not saying Keto can't work. Just saying it's not for me. Good luck to you all who have had great success on Keto...keep on doing u.
