James, thanks for drawing our attention to areas we can focus on to really improve our results.

Why are the new team goals what they are?

The old team goals were somewhat generic, fine for health, but really not so connected to what this team is about. This team is about eating Keto. So Holly and I discussed this and thought about what would be more Keto oriented.

1)
The first goal is to eat very few carbs, as this is the most significant for Keto. For folks new to Keto, the most important of all.

2)
The second goal is the next most significant, to eat just enough protein. Enough to maintain muscle mass, but not so much that it is excessive, and also to pick a range good for both men and women.

3)
The third goal is to eat the rest of the calories you need in from fat. This is a broader range since men and women need different calorie ranges, though their protein needs are quite close.

4)
The fourth goal is to see that you are not eating anything in excess. More an educational goal. If you are with the fourth goal you will find the foods that fit Keto, where you don't have to weigh, or count or calculate much. Maybe at first, but in the long run it becomes natural. Oh carrots ... just on the edge, just a taste, or pretzels ... not a chance.

5)
The last goal isn't Keto at all, but just there for good health. In general, if you do anything cardio, it seems that about 12 minutes is just enough to get the most benefit from it. But 20 minutes gets you past the 12, and isn't the same commitment as 1 hour. Its something you can fit in after work and before supper. Longer is fine too. If one can't exercise, one can stretch. Stretching is good to keep mobility, and that is good to prevent injury. Cats and dogs stretch ... now where did they learn that?

There is a saying, it isn't the fall that kills you, its the sudden stop at the end that is the problem. Having more flexibility makes any stop less sudden, and the chance of an injury less.

Hence the thoughts about the goals.
