Try Googling "keto and palpitations". It evidently happens to a lot of people. From what I have read it appears to have something to do with changing cortisol levels. Jimmy Moore even talks about it on a couple of his podcasts. I bought some Emergen-c Electromix yesterday and started on that this morning. Has way more potassium than the PowerAde Zero I sucked down yesterday. Drank the full liter at breakfast and so far so good. At any rate I have a doc appt on Monday.

I hope your heart palpitations are reducing. I have no idea how that can be related to eating Keto, and even if I did I wouldn't be suggesting anything one way or another as medical issues should be taken seriously, and by a professional.

Ok, so the lightedness went away but now I have the palpitations and to make matters worse I am experiencing what feels like heartburn (at least I hope that's what it is). I know the palpitations are normal and cannot wait until they stop, but this has all got me spooked since I got lab results back recently and the numbers are freaking me out a bit. Also tested blood glucose this morning (fasting) and it is getting worse instead of better. And apparently I have a thyroid issue i never knew about because no one else had ever tested for the particular antibody my latest doctor did. Weight loss was slow and steady but has stopped again and I'm starting to wonder if the thyroid is the whole issue. Fasting blood ketones were 1.1 (1.5 last night but after dinner) so why is the glucose going up? Not feeling so wonderful right now. Going back to the doc on Monday but feeling a tiny bit panicked.

Duh! NACV! That's what I have been forgetting this week! Thanks so much!

Oddly enough I woke this morning, got out of bed with NO lightheadedness at all! So maybe it has finally passed. We shall see...

I just save myself the additional coloring and fake flavors and use Celtic sea salt for my electrolytes as well as some Natural Apple Cider Vinegar (NACV), as needed. Seems to help.

Yep, back on full Keto just a week ago. This did happen when I first started back in November but it did pass so I guess I have to try the electrolytes and be a bit more patient. Thanks!

I do drink a LOT of water, so maybe you're right about the electrolytes. If I can't find the PowerAir Zero I'll try a Gatorade sugar free and see if that helps.

I've heard too much water intake can flush out too many electrolytes. Drinking PowerAid Zero with electrolytes really helped me. Good luck.

When did you get back on the Keto path? Within the last week? If so I'd bet it is either hydration or just not being able to fully extract calories from non-carbs.

If you continue to feel this way for a few more days, then see a doctor, it could be something else.

I started my keto journey in mid-November and dropped 11 pounds in the first 3 weeks. Things started to slow down a bit, which I expected once the water weight was gone. Then the holidays came and friends were giving me bottles of wine as gifts. So, long story short, I gained back half the weight I lost. I got back on track on New Years day and lost 4 pounds that week. Keeping my ratios on track, total carbs between 20 - 22 grams, protein between 60 - 80 grams and fat at 90 - 110 grams. Most of my carbs come from leafy greens like spinach and broccoli and spring mix salad, and zucchini (I'm addicted to my spiralizer!) as well as sugar alcohols. I take supplements including magnesium and Vit D and calcium and a couple others. But I am still experiencing some lightheadedness on and off during the day. Low sodium is not the issue as I am tracking that too. Is there something I am missing or is it simply due to my still being in the adaptation phase? Otherwise I feel fantastic! Energy up. Sleeping better. Arthritis pain practically non-existent. Even my skin and hair feel better. Appreciate any advice!
